They had everything ready for our group even though we called at the last minute and increased the number of guests. Service was very friendly.

The food was really good but the service was really, really bad. We waited 30 minutes between the time we asked for our check and the time we walked out the door and the waitress was always hard to find when we needed something. We are on our way to a show and it wasn't particularly slammed, seemed normal for a Saturday night.
Great food, authentic and original. Salsa bar is great
I'm a Mexican food lover, and I tried several items with a group. The highlights were the chips, salsa (extra charge per person), and beans. It was downhill from there, and I did not care for any other taco, enchilada, or side dish I tried. I really wanted this place to be great, but it would only suffice as a place to get drinks with friends.
Had high hopes! The salsa bar was messy and it all looked old and nothing tasted special. Asked the waitress for recommendations and ordered the street tacos that she recommended. Again, nothing special, warm at best. Really wanted to like the place but we both said there was no reason to come back.
I have had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant twice and both times I have had good service and good food. As long as they stay OPEN I will keep coming back.
The decor is great at this restaurant but the food was just average. The menu states they pride themselves in using only fresh ingredients, but the pineapple on the taco was obviously from a can. They don't offer free chips and salsa but charge $3 per person for the salsa bar. We opted to not have any for that price.
Many of the bulbs were burnt out in overhead stars and candles not lit. THIS is what lends to ambience. Sad that standards are falling.
Service was very slow. 10-15 minutes before server acknowledged us. Has to flag down two other servers to get ours. Again, falling standards.
Food and drinks are great. I wish the owners would "surprise inspect" more often. This place is a gem in St. Louis.
Very cute decor. Great place for families visiting their SLU students!
Overall was very good. Service was excellent, tried the salsa bar it was average. The food was great. Only complaint was my margarita tequila and sprite. I will return again. I'll just stick to water next .
Wonderful salsa bar and the best chips in town. Very friendly and attentive servers
Great food! Love the salsa bar
My friend and I went to Diablitos Cantina before going to a show at the Fox. We made reservations for 5:30, just in case there was a wait; however, when we arrived, we were able to be seated right away. Our waiter (I forgot his name) was very attentive. We both ordered the salsa bar, and he recommended an appetizer of melted cheese and chorizo, which was delicious. We both got Margaritas, which were also very good. I ordered the Suiza Enchiladas; they were good, but not great. A little dry. My friend ordered the sweet corn tamales, which were amazing! She was a little disappointed that they weren't served with rice and beans, but otherwise they were great. All in all, a good experience, and I would definitely go back!
Amazing food and a fun atmosphere. This place has everything you want in a Mexican restaurant and is good for all ages and families.
We went to Diablitos on a Saturday night and the place was pretty vacant. The waiter was nice, helpful and provided his favorites as a suggestion. The outside seating area was actually very nice. As food goes, we ordered a combination of tacos and a burrito. The burrito was very plain and bland as well as the tacos. The best part of Diablitos was the salsa bar.
I would not recommend, there several Mexican restaurants in the area much better than Diablitos.
The food here is really good, although if you are wanting the large Mexican portions this is not the place for you (serving size is good but not huge). While the salsa bat is extra $, it's worth it to try all the different varieties and yummy chips. I also highly recommend the Baja Shrimp and Baja Fish tacos!
We love the restaurant and the food, but the salsa bar is always low or empty. We had 4 people that paid $3 each for the salsa bar and over half of them were empty or down to just a very small amount. This was the same scenario the last time we dined here. The salsas are wonderful, but please keep them filled. I asked a waiter if they could have someone fill them and after 30 minutes, still empty containers. Hope this issue gets resolved as we would love to continue to patronize your restaurant.
I was really disappointed with Dioblitis Cantina. My wife and I went on a Saturday night and although the place wasn't very busy, it took over 10 minutes for our waiter to appear and another 10 minutes for our first drinks to arrive. Most of the wait staff seem to hang out in the back of the kitchen or by the bartender who was doing more tasting than mixing. The food was nothing notable and a little bland for my New Mexican palate. This restaurant needs to get its act together or it won't be able to sustain itself in the fickle St. Louis food market.
This is our third time there. We love it. The salsa bar is to die for. And the street tacos are unmatched. Great flavors. And it is all so reasonably priced. Go there now.
Reservations on a Saturday night for 4 - turns out not necessary. There was a significant draft in the restaurant, so we asked to move tables. Our server was fine - not overly friendly or helpful.
We LOVED this restaurant and were surprised that we hadn't heard of it before. The ambiance and decor were amazing, loved the salsa bar and outdoor seating options, very tasty menu options and reasonable prices and all the tequila options didn't hurt either. The brisket street tacos were so good that we now want to go visit the sister BBQ restaurant where the meat came from. We will definitely be back!
The whole experience was awesome ! I had the "Deviled Legs " which were amazing ! I have never had chicken that tender and the flavor was great ! This evening it was fairly cool outside and they had a small fire pit going on the back patio. My girlfriend and I will definitely be going back.
You go to a restaurant for good food. Even if the atmosphere is nice with cool artwork, nice lighting and neat metal lanterns...you want GOOD food. The food was awful and over priced. The margaritas were terrible (watered down pitcher). The only redeeming part of the meal was the chips. The chips themselves were good. The salsa bar isn't anything great. If you're going to charge for chips and salsas, make them GREAT salsas where people won't mind paying, per person, for them.
Overall, I wish I could get my $65.00 back. We should have went to Pueblo Solis for that amount or spent $30.00 for a better meal at Chimichanga's.
The smoked brisket chimichanga was fantastic.
Incredible salsa bar and tacos!
Nice decor. College crowd as near SLU. Nothing distinctive about food or menu. Salsa bar nice, but needed replenishing when we were there. Very personable waiter once he finally found our table!!
Can't say I'd drive that far to go there again. We have as many good or better Mexican restaurants in west STL county.
Good food will be good food, BUT when your service is so bad you really don't taste the food, you just want to leave as soon as possible, Being VALENTINE day makes the matter much worse.
The food was very spicy and I love spicy food, but this was numbing my lips. My chimichanga was small for $13 and the rice and beans were very bland. Maybe they are supposed to balance out how spicy everything else is. My boyfriend got the street tacos and he loved them. If we go back, I would be getting the street tacos.
There were six of us and we had loads of fun. The food was great and we all enjoyed the salsa bar. Drinks were delicious and our waiter kept them coming.
