Di Paolo Ratings and Reviews
My meal at the Di Paolo was extravagant! I absolutely loved the bread that was served first thing we got there, and the atmosphere was calming. My favorite bread in the bread basket was the Garlic Bread! Mmmm, the taste is still on my lips. Also I ordered the lasagna. OH MY GOD! The best lasagna I have ever had! Even though the pasta was colored awkwardly green, the taste was mouth watering. Even though I had only ordered the half piece, I still had the feeling of full and the want for more. I rarely have this feeling, so that is saying something!
For dessert, I had a chocolate almost like cheesecake, with Oreo crust and raspberry sorbet. Even though I normally thought that Oreos were not authentic in Italy, the taste was still amazing and still makes my mouth water! On the other hand thought the sorbet was not fit for the cake. The taste was one like orange juice and chocolate chip cookies. They taste good separately, but when together they make a not so pleasing combination. My parents had the Margherita Pizza and the Bread pudding for dessert. My dad fell in love with the bread pudding and my mom adored the Margherita Pizza.
So in the end, I must say that the Lasagna was my top favorite at this restaurant, but the Bread Pudding was for my father and the Margherita Pizza was for my mother.
As you can see by the photos, I was too hungry and my mouth was watering to much for me to wait until I took the picture! Sorry!
The food was really good. They made their own pasta, bread and dessert in house. We really liked the seafood linguine. Seafood was tender and tasty. Linguine was seasoned just perfect. So delicious that I almost wanted to order another one. We also liked the braised short rib. It was soft and juicy. The creamy polenta goes well with the short rib. We had tiramisu for dessert. It was simple but good.
We didn't enjoy the service though. Our server was cold. She took our empty plates away then disappeared for a long time before we could ask for dessert menu. Then she disappeared again even though she knew we finished our dessert. We had to wait for our check. She was not friendly either. I would go again for the food and hope she won't be our server.
I am a regular at di Paolo and even though I have been there literally hundreds (maybe thousands) of times over the past 20+ years, I never tire of the inventive menu and specials, attentive and caring service, and smiling faces from an amazing staff. Chef Darin has impeccable taste, and prides himself on using the best of the best for all of his creations. On my last visit I kept it simple with an antipasto platter (very inventive with marcona almonds), mista salad (I add cherry tomatoes) and branzino. The setup for the fish is my favorite consisting of confit potato, haricot vert and chicken demi glace, to die for. No dessert this day, trying to take off a few pounds, but try their homemade gelatos, WOW! Had the Hendry Chardonnay, delicious, and on Sunday's 1/2 price bottles. Thanks also to Zack, the bartender, for taking great care of my party. He always make it fun.
We went for New Year's Eve dinner. As always, the service, food, and overall experience was first-class. They always have interesting "specials", and they are worth exploring. We had an early reservation, but the restaurant was busy. They were prepared, and handled things well. Di Paolo's remains one of my favorite restaurant. The fact that I live about a mile a way makes it even nicer.
This is the second time we’ve come to the establishment and the first time our waiter was incredibly rude. So much that we had to have him replaced. The manager was very understanding.
This last time the service was only OK and simply because they brought me the wrong order however my girlfriends muscles were obviously not that fresh and in fact one of them was so on fresh it had to be spit out.
Not sure why this restaurant is rated so highly. We are either in credibly unlucky in our two at times but needless to say we will not be returning.
Outstanding as always! Justin was our server and he was so informative and made dinner such fun and more of an experience with the additional information about the wines, specials and the menu as a whole! Love this place! What an amazing meal and high quality food! Everything appears to be made in house and is so fresh! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
It doesn't look like much from the outside--downright dreary--but the place was packed on a Saturday night with multiple waves of diners. Server Justin was right on. This is a longtime neighborhood gem, not so much a destination. It is Italian food, but not old school. I had scallops on bed of risotto (mixed with some wild rice, not at all gloppy), very nicely done. The bar is well tended: not too boozy, not too crafty. All in all, entirely approachable fine dining in Peachtree Corners. The crowd looked quite affluent.
