The food here is fantastic. We went for lunch and were disappointed that one of our favorite items was not on the menu. We asked the waiter and he said it was a dinner item but they would make it for us. He carefully explained that they would have to charge the dinner price which was fine with us. We have found that they will go out of their way to make you happy.
Food was great and live entertainment was wonderful.
Wonderful service. Felt like a family restaurant where they take a lot of pride in giving you a great experience.
The Eggplant parm tasted like it had been in the freezer for a long time. Had to go find server to pay bill. Very disappointing experience.
We were seated as soon as we arrived. The hostess and wait staff were welcoming. I ordered a house specialty, grilled scallops with sun dried tomatoes and angel hair pasta. It was very good. My husband had the chicken Milanese which he enjoyed. The atmosphere was pleasant. There aren’t many good Italian restaurants to choose from in the Northwest suburbs. I would recommend this one.
Great food, great wine list, great atmosphere. Always a pleasure to dine with them.
Nice place to take clients for business dinner. Very good food and excellent service.
We always enjoy our meal, service and entertainment every time we’re there. It is just like being with your whole family!!
It had been an extended time since I had visited Di Benedetto Trattoria, so I approached the evening as a new guest. We were greeted warmly by the owner and promptly seated at our reservation time. We had a professional and perfect server who was there at all the right times, yet allowed my wife and I to have uninterrupted conversation. We had pre-dinner cocktails that were well made and allowed us to relax. We had a difficult time picking from an enticing, yet not overwhelming menu. The owner returned to see how we were doing and we asked for his recommendations on entrees. I also asked our server as well. They both pointed us in the right direction. My wife enjoyed one of the evening's specials, a pounded pork chop served Saltimbocca style, and she substituted cheese risotto for angel hair. It was fabulous. I opted for the Veal Napoleon, which offered layered veal, eggplant, gorgonzola cheese and mozzarella cheese. To their credit they inquired if I truly liked gorgonzola prior to my selection. It was beautiful, rich and cheesy with delicious layers of goodness.
We enjoyed a nice bottle of Italian wine for dinner that complimented our meal choices perfectly. We had dessert of bread pudding and were provided with complimentary crema di limoncello as an after dinner digestive, that provided a perfect finale.
Both our dishes were prepared with care and originality, but also to provide satisfaction and comfort versus only originality.
The ambiance of a restaurant in a strip mall is always an interesting conundrum, but once inside, I was reminded of a old time supper club back in the day. Warm, inviting and comforting. There was also a pair of singers who serenaded all the diners without being obtrusive or too loud. A very nice touch as well.
All in all it was a great experience, and clearly the food will bring me back in the near term, as I felt I had renewed a relationship with an old friend.
Food and service were terrific, however the electronic band and singer were annoying! It was amateur karaoke night but, no karaoke!
Bologna’s were genuine and the minestrone soup was fantastic, nothing was hot, it was all warm. I would go back for sure on a night without the music!
Excellent service! Great food, great family atmosphere.
This place is adorable on weekends. The singers they have perform are phenomenal and whether you are there on a date or with friends, it is a vibrant atmosphere. The servers are attentive and the food is good. While you can hear the music well because the space is small, you can still easily have a conversation at your table.
We were in Schaumburg for a volleyball tournament and didn’t want to dine at a chain. We found this on Open Table and estatic that is was amazing! We loved the gods, our waiter and the entertainment! Wo
Valentines dinner was very nice! Thank you for an enjoyable meal
Valentines Day dinner. A day early to avoid the crowd. Service is always awesome as well as the food. My wife and I agree that this is our favorite restaurant.
They have entertainment starting at 7PM
Very overrated! My husband and I arrived on time for our 5:30PM reservation on New Year's eve. We were greeted by the hostess with "Can I help you" which was not a very warm welcome. The place was empty except maybe 4 tables one of which was a loud table of 4. So where do they seat us, but right next to the loud table of four. Not exactly a romantic dinner for two when we could not even hear each other speak. Service was okay as was the food, but not worth the price or the drive. Not a good first experience.
Turn off the TV pictures or position them so they only impact the bar area, and my experience here would be nearly perfect. This is true for so many restaurants I visit these days, and at least they had the volume turned down. But the classier the restaurant, and I'd put D's in that category the more a TV cheapens it for me.
Other than that, the food is great from quality to portions, the owner clearly shows he cares about his patrons, and the service is very good too. The atmosphere is a little 20's jazz club feel and there a nicely understated elegance to the decor.
It's tucked away a bit in strip mall, and other than that taking away a good outside seating option, that does not detract from the experience unless it keeps you away. Don't let it.
One of our regular 'go to' places. Always a good meal.
We love this place. The food is delish! The entertainment on Saturday night is outstanding. This time we saw the SInatra singer and he was amazing. Will go back again and again.
As usual the Di Benedetto experience was good. Good food, good service and good ambience ... No complaints ☺️
One of our favorites! Food is always great. Owner is very nice and sociable.
My friends and I celebrated an early Christmas and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Once the music/singing starts the noise level rises but at least we could still hear each other. Food was good and a little pricey but worth it.
Great night, service good food delicious. There was a singer singing various Italian songs, lovely voice!
Will be back here again fun evening.
Our table of four each ordered a different item and they were all incredible. Very generous sizes. The calamari appetizer was also very good. And they had a nice selection of wine. For dessert we tried the cannoli and tiramisu and both were delicious. All in all a five star night.
We enjoyed the ambiance as a family & the food was great. Service was prompt & friendly.
Took friends to Di Benedetto for their anniversary celebration. All our entrees' were very different and very good with everyone taking lots home. Seafood was very fresh and tasty as was the veal etc. Our server was attentive without being in our face. The wine selected for the evening was also very good.
There is live music during dinner which was lots of fun and entertaining. The volume made it difficult to hear conversations with our friends.
Would definitely come back.
Food was fantastic! Great atmosphere and live music to boot. Service was excellent.
Great entertainment with Diva Montell. The dance floor was hopping all night.
The service during our visit was outstanding. The wines that are "on special" are a great value. The food was uneven. The salmon special was great. The veal was just slightly dry. The melrose pepper appetizer was delicious.
Be forewarned that there is live music. Not sure the starting time but maybe around 7 on Saturday night. It is fun and some patrons dance. But it is not quiet. If you have a group, ask to be seated as far from the music as possible since it will be hard to hear conversation. If there is just a twosome or foursome, you should be fine.
Overall, this is a fun dining experience.
Veal was very good. Quantity was generous. Drinks were fairly priced.
Outstanding. The best Italian food in the Chicagoland area, without a doubt. If you didn't see what you wanted on the menu, highly unlikely, ask and they make it.
Entertainment at DiBennedetto's was outstanding, Yesterday's Future. Food was delicious and hot when served. The server seemed to be preoccupied, I would have appreciated a bit more attention. Overall it was a good meal and if entertainment is right we will be back.
Definitely a good choice if your mood is Italian food. We loved what we had and server and owner were very attentive. A bit out of the way, but worth it.
We are long time customers of DB's, and it has yet to disappoint us. Our last visit (a belated Mother's Day dinner) was, as usual, excellent with good food and excellent service :-)
Amazing!!! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly sized portions and the stuffed mushroom appetizer is a must have. I wanted to re-order them for my entree. Di Benedetto's has become neighborhood go to place when we want Italian.
You'll often times find the owners / chef at the bar relaxing toward the end of the night. Both are very engaging, charming and show their appreciation for your business.
Nice spot to enjoy and good meal and conversation. Very nice ambiance.
Just a train wreck from start to finish. Waited almost a hour for our appetizer only to find out it was sent to the wrong table. Our waiter then throws the owner under the bus saying it was his fault. My entree which was a pasta dish looked and tasted like a bowl of chili. So many choices out there for Italian food, needless to say this place will never again be one of them.
Reminded me of mi familia's cocina back home growing up. Delicious, authentic, and worth the small price tag and drive. A neighborhood gem!!!
