The exciting twenty-eight seat restaurant d’floret is a modern elegantly-lit stage, featuring an open kitchen and adjoining dining room that exhibit the chef’s dual passions: Foy’s paintings and culinary mastery. The space is accented by a floor-to- ceiling Black Walnut Nakashima panel, lighting by Ayala Serfaty, the Israeli artist, with Arnie Jacobsen modern Classic chairs, finishing the sleek warm welcoming room. Please note, due to high demand and limited seating, in addition to online holds we require diners call the restaurant to reconfirm your by 12pm day of, or it will not be honored.

Best restaurant in the area. Small, so book in advance. Accepts only cash or check.
Special meal, delicious lamb and halibut, even the creme brûlée was a delight! Will return.
Good find! Amazing that it has been there so long and never dined there before. Service atmosphere and food all very good Who could ask for anything more. Will return
A delicious meal, lamb and sirloin for us! Cooked to perfection.
Wonderful early dinner with friends on a holiday weekend - tiny and quaint byob french restaurant. The mushroom soup was superb. Definitely will be back!
Bills itself as a French restaurant. The food was fair and very overpriced for the quality. I had high expectations and was disappointed. The menu was varied but nothing was unusual or very special. Not really sure what is French about mushroom soup, veal Ragu, steak or rack of lamb. The preparation was not in any French style. Even the bread was just OK. The presentation was... well really absent. I wouldn’t go back - ever.
A mixed green salad with walnuts that were scarce and a nondescript vinaigrette proved to be very ordinary. Mushroom soup was exceptional with mushrooms at the bottom of the soup plate. An entrée of gnocci was rich, buttery, melt in your mouth umami. Veal bolognese was also rich with plentiful meat in the sauce. Creme Brûlée dessert with vanilla bean was a great ending. Two attempts to make reservations by phone was futile. I left messages but never received a call back. So, the best way to get a table in this restaurant is via Open Table.
The mushroom soup was superb, as were the lamb and veal bolognese. Great place for excellent cooking and intimate conversation.
Estella was a delightful hostess who was both gracious and informative. The kitchen was demonstrably accomplished and delighted with each dish. Wait staff was attentive and responsive. The compact space was managed to feel airy and cozy at the same time. My dinner companion and I found the room commodious for relaxed conversation. I can’t wait to return.
I was dining alone and the service was impeccable. The cucumber salad with green beans and tomatoes was to die for. Only one more week for the cucumber salad I was told. The entree with shrimp broiled with a peach and tomato chutney, also delectable. And the Strawberry Shortcake was light, refreshing and not over the top. A great experience and I cannot wait to go back again.
d'Floret restaurant is consistently excellent. Dennis Foy uses the freshest ingredients and prepares them with a mastery evident only in a mature chef. His flavor combinations are unparalleled.
Lovely spot. First rate food using excellent ingredients. Expensive for the area but worth it.
A cozy spot that is our “go to” when we want to go out and have not planned.
The husband and wife team that are typically here were absent Thursday, when we dined. The food was underwhelming. While the goat cheese tart and crab appetizers were amazing, my husbands steak was cooked very well done(had a leathery nite) and my lamb had so much sugar on the outside, I was crunching on it the whole time. The servers spent more time talking to each other then actually serving. We spent more time waiting for the check then actually eating there. We love this restaurant so it’s a shame that it was such a bad experience.
I ate there last year for my anniversary it was wonderful we sat outside then again we cane with friends in winter. Both times the food was amazing.
Then we brought new friends this past Friday and my husband and I we disappointed. We both were not happy with our dinners the portions were small we got no sides the service was slow and prices seemed very high.
D’floret surpassed all expectations. A Sunday night dinner with my wife at 7:30 with great food and quiet!
Tian of crab, special salad, and the best lamb chops I have had. Fork and butter knife tender with a 9 spice coating cooked two double giant chops to medium rare perfection. BYO wine and a very nice dessert completed a great dinner. Our hostess/waiter, Eleanor was very welcoming and explained the nuances of the different dishes. We will go back!
We always enjoy a dinner at this lovely, intimate restaurant. Although a quick trip down 29 for us, we would drive a distance for one of Chef Foy's meals.
Dennis Foy never disappoints. Food was superb, service was friendly and efficient and it was a beautiful night to dine on the patio.
We have visited d’Floret several times and I was excited to return for my birthday celebration. We arrived for our 8:15 reservation on a Saturday evening after requesting an outside table. It seemed that 5+ other tables were sat within minutes of us (and our outside table was not available or offered).
It seems the hostess served us all evening and we were the last to order of all the sat tables around there time we were seated. One of the few entrees was unavailable as was the special which left the menu options quite limited.
Service was a bit slow and not very attentive. I left disappointed on my birthday and my husband’s response was, “Well, we’ll just go earlier so they don’t run out of food”.
Lovely outdoor patio. Attentive and gracious service. Appetizers were very good, entrees were just good. And it was a little pricey for the quality of the meal. We had a nice time with friends but would not go back due to the expense and the fact that's it's an hour drive for us.
Food was excellent - hosts were very nice.
Service and atmosphere also very good.
We will be back soon.
Excellent food prepared to order, fresh ingredients, small more personal restaurant.
Delectable food, small restaurant, and attentive service. Tian of crab was very fresh and full tasting. Veal bolognese on home-made pasta was marvelous with pasta that melted in the mouth. I make pasta myself but have never achieved this texture, this softness, and this delicacy. Dessert, which we don't usually have, was also well worth the time and taste - strawberry short cake and chocolate royale. My only critique, and its a minor one, was that we ate during the first seating at 6 PM and felt a bit rushed when the second wave arrived, albeit an hour and a half later, at 7:30. Nevertheless, we will definitely return. Our thanks to the entire staff for a delicious experience.
My wife and I visited D'Floret for an early Sunday dinner. As is our tradition on our anniversary; we try to travel outside our usual haunts to try something new and refreshing. After visiting the website for D'Floret I was excited to dine with Chef Foy.
We arrived and were immediately impressed. Being the first guest of the evening we were able to chat with Chef and his wife Estella for a bit.
Of course all was not perfect. Usually when we dine out we can peruse the menu and within a minute or two identify the winners that are being offered, a couple of follow up questions to the staff and we are good to go.
Not so at D’floret. After struggling to find something to order from the menu, we called over our server to discuss the options. She was of little help since she just confirmed what we already suspected.
You see the problem was that EVERYTHING on the menu was amazing! Luckily for us a voice of reason cake from the kitchen. You see, Chef Foy offered to cook for us! The only decision we had to make was the number of courses. (We settled on 4)
We had beautiful shrimp, tuna, scallops and Lamb like you’ve never tasted before. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so enjoy.
Thank you to Estella and Chef for the 1st of many wonderful meals.
Would we recommend D’Floret? Uh, Yes!
Our only regret is that it took so long for us to find it.
WE HAVE BEEN FREQUENTLY DINING AT VERY FINE DINING RESTAURANTS FOR YEARS. WE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DINING DETAILS; PRESENTATION, QUALITY OF FOOD, AMBIENCE, SERVICE, AND CLEANLINESS OF THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT. THIS INCLUDES THE INSIDE TEMPERATURE. D'FLORET IN ALL RESPECTS HAS TO BE CONSIDERED ONE OF THE BEST AND FINEST!
Thanks for a memorable anniversary dinner! This was our 3rd time at D'Floret, and we have never been disappointed in any way.
D'Floret is a true gem in lovely Lambertville! Everything was PERFECT, from the warm and friendly greeting when you first arrive, to the food which is amazing! As we were leaving, the chef even stepped out of the kitchen to meet us, and to make sure we were completely happy with the experience. Really, really nice waitstaff as well, more than willing to help you decide from a menu on which everything sounds mouth-wateringly good.
D'Floret is really a must when you are visiting Lambertville, but book ahead as tables fill up fast. And since they buy their produce locally, the menu is continually changing, so each time you go, you can expect special offerings of the day as well as their standards, such as the best sirloin steak we've ever had. And the BYOB policy works out just fine -- you can choose your own wine, and frankly pay less for the privilege. Outstanding on all counts. Not to be missed.
How is it that we have overlooked d'floret? We regularly dine in Lawrenceville and would probably come up with the same list of favorites as most would. How did we miss d'floret? I have no idea, especially since we were fans of Denis Foy from his restaurant in Lawrenceville years back. All I can say is - stupendous. My new favorite. The tian of crab (prepared perfectly - delicious!), the chilled pea soup, the gnocchi, the wild caught Alaskan salmon, the rack of lamb, and especially the gateau de langoustine were out of this world - all prepared in front of us by the master chief himself in the open kitchen design of the restaurant. We dined on a Friday night and it wasn't packed (small restaurant), so I suspect there may be others who are unaware. Move d'floret to the top of your list of Lambertville restaurants. We will be back to try everything else on the menu, and then go through again ... and again!
As always food is delicious.
Love the intimate atmosphere and Dennis and his wife are delightful. Food was absolutely over the top!
We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The chef can be seen preparing your meal, which was delicious. The scallops were amazing. We decided they were the best profiteroles we have ever tasted!
First time there and really like it. We sat in the backyard courtyard which was very comfortable. Food was great: highly recommend the Ahi Tuna. You can take nice 20 minute walk via the bridge to New Hope for after dinner entertainment
Consistently excellent. This is Lambertville's finest restaurant, hands down. I've dined here often and am always impressed. My out of town guests and business colleagues have come to love it also. This BYOB is devine.
Don’t know how I missed out going to this little gem before now. Well it is very small and tucked away on a side street but it was a wonderful meal. The gnocchi were out of this world. A special for the evening was a simple shrimp over Tuscan beans dish. Simple but such a wonderful, flavorful dish. My husband enjoyed the salmon. As the chef said “just pick anything you won’t be disappointed”. I’ll be returning to see if he’s right. 😋
Excellent gem on quiet street in lambertville! Can’t wait to go back!
My wife and I first fined here several weeks ago and couldn’t wait to bring friends there to share the experience. This husband and wife team complement each other perfectly. We will be back many times despite the long drive to get there.
Absolutely Spectacular from appetizers through desserts for all four of us ( we all ordered different items). The fresh pea and wild mushrooms soups were delicious and the chicken the best anyone has ever had.
Very warm and inviting staff.
On top of that, it’s BYOB !
What else could you ask for!!
The restaurant was excellent. The food was amazing and the service was very friendly. My only complaint is that is took a little while to be seated. Everything else was fantastic. I would definitely return.
Restaurant is small and cozy but did not feel crowded. The asparagus soup was very tasty and rack of lamb was divine, cooked just right. My husband loved the salmon. Service was fine and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the chef's special dishes. We would definitely visit again and recommend to our friends.
Exceptional food. Gracious service. Great value too.
