   I am really sad to say this, as I have been a Dexter's fan for several years. However my last two brunch experiences have been bad. . . the food not good, the mimosa's week. I am not sure, but I am assuming it has changed ownership, as it is definitely not the GEM it used to be.

   This place has become a real s#$t hole! They are fine with you until you ask about someone who used to work there that made you feel priceless as a customer. They shut up real quick and then get very snippy. Our waitress today was very obviously negative toward us... we were just trying to have fun like the old days. My goodness, my husband basically said..so what happened to.... and then named 30 names... not even real people..... just trying to be funny....NO FUNNY TO BE HAD! Even one of the bartenders, who said she would let us know where someone went, WOULD NOT... SHE BASICALLY IGNORED US. Dexter's COULD HAVE remained o.n.e of our main places for Sunday... tried twice now....NOT AFTER TODAY! GET A GRIP PEOPLE.... LIFE IS NOT THAT SERIOUS! A $20 tip became $5..... enjoy that cup of coffee onthat $5 that could've been a tank of gas lady! Wiping it off of our Sunday Open Table list.

   Unfortunately, the experience was very poor. Have eaten here multiple times but the last two times have been pretty poor overall. It took an extremely long time for the main course is to be served. We were a party of six, five main questions came out at the same time and the sixth one was delayed by at least five minutes.We all wanted to enjoy our food together and due to the delay either we had to wait for the last person to be served and our food will be cold or we have to start without our last guest eating. I don’t think we will be going back to dexter’s again.

    The food was good, but the breakfast potatoes were on the cold side. We had indicated someone in our group was celebrating a birthday when we made the reservation through Open Table. It would have been nice if the waiter did something small to recognize that.

    Horrible experience. Made reservation for 7:30p, food didn't arrive until 8:30p for party of 7 with no explanation from staff. Only 3 tables had people in the entire restaurant. Then food came out cold. Just plain lame!!!

I believe that there was some delay as you were attempting to substitute french fries for beef on our dollar taco night. Also my ticket times show that the time for your table was 18 minutes.

    We previously in 2018 brought in the new year with dexters Windermere and it was awesome ! But this year we made reservations to bring in the New Year at dexters Windermere and they told us it would be live music until 2 am, meaning we would bring the new year in with champagne, hats, etc but around 1130 we see that the band was ending their sets, and the waiter was asking for last call after we purchased endless wine a few moments before, then upon asking they said they were closing for the night ! We were disappointed because it was too late to go to another event to bring in the New Year, so me & my husband drove home and had 2 minutes to get out the car and say happy New Years to one another. Very disappointing for us

    Skip this restaurant! The staff was dressed like this was a college bar, so your not sure who even works there. (One was even in a spandex cropped top and yoga pants) I ordered the salmon and it looked like a mystery fish no pink so maybe frozen? The rice was definitely reheated because it was crunchy. I ended up eating vegetables and my sons French fry’s for dinner. My husband got fish and chips and his fish was still frozen in the center. When we told the staff they took his plate and came back with a appetizer plate. The restaurant even looks like it’s closing because it needs a lot of repairs one of the women’s sink didn’t work. None of the wine cabinets were holding any wine. Basically it looks like someone gave up.

    We simply could not talk to each other and the food was marginal. Half of the dining experience is visiting with your dinner companions. How are you supposed to have a conversation with your server and the people at your table when you are yelling over the live music that started and hour earlier than you were told it would start when you were seated. Several tables got up and left in the middle of their meals. We finished the meal and went elsewhere for dessert.

    We went for brunch the weekend before Christmas, so the place was (understandably) a madhouse. Our servers were wonderful and clearly doing their best given the circumstances. I want to marry whoever chose the music that day, as Spice Girls, Smash Mouth, and Destiny's child featured on the playlist. My only complaint is the the portion sizes are too small for the prices they charge. I ordered shrimp and grits and there were 3 shrimp on my plate. I'd like to see them on a less hectic day.

    The new menu has eliminated all of the items that has made Dexter’s a local icon. They have eliminated the cha cha chips which have been our family favorite since the opening of the original restaurant. Dexter’s has always been famous for their cha cha chips and pressed sandwiches. The new menu no longer includes these items and therefore the restaurant no longer has the same appeal. The appetizers came out after the entrees which arrived at our table 2 at a time for a party of 5 ruining the flow of the meal. The meal was a disappointment for our out of town guests who chose the restaurant above all other choices in the SandLake area. Much work is needed to put Dexter’s back on our list of favorites.

    Ownership change -unfortunately- has not improved the place. Smaller menu choices, higher prices, no more entertainment, food not as good as before: we used to dine there quite a lot in the past.

    We love Dexter’s but DO NOT be in a rush. The service is always very slow, but the food and drinks are great at the right price, so we don’t mind. They just never seem to be in a hurry.

    Not happy with your attitude of not accepting my gift certificate under the pretense that you are under new ownership. What should I care that you chose to be sold? I have two certificates that are worthless. Shame on you! Your manager on premise should have done the right thing and honored that certificate; instead, she suggested to me "that her hands were tied"; really? Here is where MY hands are not tied. I am NEVER EVER setting foot on your property again. This coming from someone who had been a loyal supporter of the restaurant for the last four-plus years, even two or three times a week. Bad mistake.

    My husband and I received a gift card for Dexter's for our Anniversary. My mom purchased it through Open Table. We took our three kids out to dinner after our daughter's dance recital. Taking a family of five out to dinner is costly, but we knew we could offset it with our $75 gift card. Our meals arrived at different times, some side orders were forgotten, and we never received a drink menu after several requests. When we went to pay the $100 bill, the server declined our gift card because "they were under new management". We spoke to two managers, both of whom could do nothing for us. One manager even threatened to call the cops if we didn't pay. They did nothing to offset our inconvenience, and they never awarded the gift card purchased through Open Table. My kids were in tears, and this experience ruined our celebratory evening. I frequent restaurants all over New York and Orlando, and I can assure you, I will not return here. I have never been treated so unfairly as a customer.

    There were 8 of us celebrating the West Orange Bobcats 6U AAU football championship and although our server had a few mix-ups with the orders, he was happy to correct them while remaining courteous and upbeat the entire time. We thoroughly enjoyed the endless hours we spent brunching.

    My experience started off well with the general manager coming over to the table making sure he and the chefs could accommodate my friend as she has a severe lactose allergy. He was very thorough, but when the meal was delivered to the table, my friend’s meal ended up having dairy in it. My food was delicious, but I was disappointed with the lack of attention and detail. Also, I tried to purchase the meal with a gift card I received from my Mom, but gift cards are no longer accepted at this or any other location so I had to throw the gift card in the trash. The restaurant didn’t do anything to keep my business.

    After waiting forever to even get our order in then another 20 minutes to get a little something for our toddler, we were ready to forget this place. Finally, our orders came. We just boxed two to take home because 1/2 of meal was not cooked enough and we were tired of dealing with restaurant. Our 4th and 5th persons ordered the eggplant napoleon. Awful. The eggplant was not stacked as a napoleon would be but instead spread out in a circle to cover plate. Extremely thin slices with edges overcooked, little cheese or sauce and as we tried to eat it, it was so thin the slices broke up as we lifted fork. Made a soupy mess in the end. Most awful neighborhood restaurant I've been to.

    We had subpar service during our visit this weekend at Dexter's in Windemere. Neither the staff nor management could confirm the type of lettuce served on a salad which wouldn't matter except for the fact that romaine lettuce has been banned due to ecoli. In addition, it took our server nearly 20 minutes to process our credit card for payment.

    Took a friend who was visiting from out of town toone of the best brunch spots" and learned that ownership had changed. Didn't think k anything of it until the food cake out. Definitely not what it used to be. Looks like new ownership may have changed food suppliers or recipes to cut costs. Extremely disappointing and not at all fit for Windermere. I don't see them surviving like this for long. Unfortunately I will not be going back and will have to find a new brunch spot.

    Very disappointing dinner experience. We walked in, saw it wasn’t very crowded and considered leaving. Then we talked to server and felt sorry for him - so we stayed for dinner. In a restaurant that holds over 150 people- there were less than 20. Apparently the restaurant was recently sold, new owners fired lots of people so regulars stopped coming. I ordered one of their signature items - salmon salad - and it was very good. Unfortunately my husband had the French dip and it was mediocre. Small sandwich, not a lot of meat and bun was over toasted. Several menu items we asked about are no longer available. Usually have live music on Saturday- that was also cancelled. With so many great dining options in the area, we won’t go back here unless they can improve things. Bottom line- we should have just given the server $10 and walked out instead of eating there.

    Visited on 14 November and it was very poor - limited draft beers (only 3), no Pinot Grigio, not even any sparkling water - all we were told due to an impending menu change in 2 to 3 weeks - really !! Then the salmon was served up with luke warm potato wedges which looked reheated and burnt and would have been better suited to re-soleing your shoes than eating. The manager apologised and attempted to explain his way out of things but when he realised we weren't buying his bull he quickly excused himself and we were left to wait around 15 minutes for freshly cooked wedges by which time the rest of the dish which they left us with had been eaten. Been here several times before but won't ever be going again - Absolutely Awful - don't go there.

    Under new ownership and management and they are trying very hard. The GM came and sat with us at our table and explained that there may be a few bumps along the way, but he is a very competent and experienced guy who will do well.

    Came here for my 23rd birthday brunch in November and was absolutely amazed! The staff was amazing and so sweet! The owner even stopped by the table and chatted with us for a little bit. The endless Mimosa deal is unbeatable. Came back a few months later with my boyfriend and close friend for the Mimosas and once again amazed. Loved every second. Waiter was attentive and personable. Really made sure that we were having a great time and made some great suggestions.

    Having been to this location multiple times, I was very disappointed with the quality of service for their Sunday brunch. For the price Tama the food was average at best. Nothing exceptional about it in the least. The French toast was under cooked, the breakfast burritos were under seasoned, the extra charge bacon was flacid and all of the glassware was "hazy". I won't say that we won't be going back for their exceptional tacos in the evening, and the music bands that come along with that, but brunch is not the way to go.

    If you happen to go in for lunch/dinner and have a gift certificate from their store; ask them why they refuse to accept it. When I purchase something like a certificate from a store, I expect not to be ripped off and not have them honored. Horrible service and the manager who came to tell me Dexter’s was no longer accepting gift certificates because they had been bought out by a different group deserves to receive better customer service training. In a million years will I set foot inside this restaurant. And this coming from a patron who used to come in 2-3 a week since they opened.

    I have been to Dexter's Windermere many times, but this time it just didn't seem like it was worth the money spent. There really wasn't anything special about the brunch dishes. I couldn't believe that the Crab Egg Benedict didn't come with toast, fruit or any side for that matter. Just not worth the value when there are so many other restaurants to chose from. Very disappointed for my out-of-town guests.

    Dexter's is my go-to for brunch. The food is excellent, atmosphere is fun and you can't beat the delicious endless mimosas (I highly recommend trying the pineapple mango).
