After driving 15 miles for our 5:45 reservation, fe found a sign on the door saying "Closed Until Further Notice."
Great atmosphere! Great food.
Server wasn’t super personable. Shrimp & Grits ordered did not state an egg was included. I do not like eggs. I was able to get the egg off without it bursting on my food. The server didn’t make any mention of the solitary egg on a side plate. I could’ve complained, I suppose.
Liked the service. Liked the food. Parking is an issue.
Server was very friendly and very helpful when answering question.
Food was prepared perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for a better meal.
Business lunch with group of 6. was much too loud to talk when we first sat down, and it was not crowded. Once the loud group left it was great. Atmosphere is fun, and food was terrific. 5 of 6 of us had something different and each raved about what they had. definite recommend.
Great service and good food
Terrible wouldnt even take my table. Had an 815 reservation I was running late due to horrible summer weather and they said kitchen closed at 845 pm on a saturday night!!! Happily took my birthday party of 8 to maxines...dropped a decent amount of money on food apps drinks and desserts. Plus their owner personally was there with live music. Way better than Dexter's
Casey was amazing and always ready to help. Perfect birthday celebration
Rainy evening and not crowded yet noise level very high. There was no band just a very loud room.
Awesome customer service, and great food! Super fun atmosphere!
Great service, great food
Good times!!!
Pasta and Mexican lasagna were awesome! But Server was not very attentive. Burgers were charred and dry. Very loud interior as open set up and high ceilings.
This was our 2nd visit to Dexters before a concert at Amway Center (short drive). This time I had blackened shrimp tacos and my friends has burgers. We all really enjoyed our food. Service was good. Kind of noisy. Very casual atmosphere. Would definitely return.
Our server was great !! The food just seemed a little off today ???
Greta night out for drinks for appetizers. Friendly service and great place to watch a basketball game on TV
Ask for Jeremey.... great Server, super nice guy.
They were not open at the time they said they would be
We absolutely love Dexters in Thornton Park. Food is always creative and delicious. We happened to just get a very poor waitress this time which made our dining experience terrible. Manager was very apologetic....will definitely go back again but will make sure we get an experienced server.
Just got promoted on job
The restaurant was quiet upon arrival yet our server didn’t seem to have it together. As she got more tables the wait for our requested items took longer than usual.
Bartender was arrogant. Ordered a premium vodka three ingredient cocktail. It is my go to cocktail of choice and I know the flavor well. My guest and I ordered the same and when it arrived it had the sharp aftertastes of a cheap vodka. She noticed as well. Nothing smooth about it. The waitress was darling and offered to return them, we asked her to check to make sure he didn’t use a well vodka. Bartender showed up at our table all in a huff that he’s been making that drink for 10 years and how dare we question his abilities. We stopped him mid rant to ask what ingredients he used...well there were a few additional ingredients not necessarily needed for a Grey Goose Cosmo. I have been drinking this longer than he’s been bartending and sorry, stick to the basics, and don’t substitute without doubling back to the customer. Burger was good, waitress was sweet, manager never made an appearance, not a fan of Dexters.
We had a great meal outside on their patio. Menu was outstanding and food was flavorful and interesting. Good experience on a nice evening.
Delicious! We began with salads, their homemade ranch with feta... delightful. I had one of the specials, Chicken Schnitzel... others had the French Dip and Mahi-mahi with shells. All were winners. Topped it off with peanut butter chocolate mousse, that was only ok... the rest of the meal was so, so good though!
NIce dinner before Billy Joel concert. 1st time at this location. Wasn't disappointed. Service was spot on and food was hot when served. Mac and cheese dish needs a little more flavor.
I dont remember our waiter name BUT he was great. He was attentive to our table but still allowed us to hang out as we had not seen each other a couple months. There is definitely something's going on outside at the restaurant that he was able go take care of and make our experience who wonderful experience. For girls hanging out for the holiday first day of vacation it was a great way to start our vacation.
Quite disappointed—noisy, no ambiance at all; flat bright lighting, live music was excellent but much too amplified for the small space. Restaurant was not very full at any time during our visit, yet our large party had to speak very loudly to converse at all. Food was ok, but only the calimari shone. Our server was attentive and kind.
It was quite loud. It was more of a bar than a restaurant. Not my preference. However, the seafood burrito was very good. Also, the host didn't ask for my name when I said that I had a reservation. I had to call the restaurant the next day and make sure that I got my dining points.
Parking is normally dicey but we got lucky and found a space in the back. Server was great (Trevor?) and food was too. Although we were early and it wasn’t very crowded, it was so noisy that I realized my throat was hurting when we left because I had to yell to be heard by my friends. Reliable neighborhood spot.
Always a great experience!
The server was a disaster. Not his fault he should’ve never been hired into that position unfortunately. I’ve been there before and enjoyed it. Bad experience we walked out after being there an hour and our food had not been put in.
3 of us had dinner here before an event at the Amway Center. 2 of us had salmon, one a salad and one a dinner. Salmon was coked perfectly and we were very happy with it. The 3rd had chicken schnitzel and her verdict was just okay. Waitress was delightful and checked in with us often.
Very casual, comfortable atmosphere. Short drive to Amway Center.
Will definitely return.
Wow, the food was amazing and prepared at the 5 star level. Place looks like a normal chain restaurant; but it’s far from that. It’s a very casual looking place with high end grub!!!!!
Dope food and dope service
Really hate to write this review but need to. 4 of us went for a hopefully nice dinner. Our server was very responsive but we had major issues with the food. We did let the server know that we were headed to a concert so could they please be aware of this in terms of bringing our food out. Well, two of our dishes were woefully undercooked. My wife ordered chicken and it was literally still not cooked AT ALL in places. I mean - just by looking at it you could tell it was not cooked. My buddy ordered the pork chop and exact same thing. Raw! The manager took care of us by removing them both from the bill but I've really got to wonder what is behind the kitchen door with meals like this. Do better Dexters! You're a local Orlando place and we want to see you do well! Step it up!
Great food and drinks but, most impotantly, the servers were fantastic.
Not many options for brunch
Good food and service but a very loud place.
We have just moved to Lake Eola Historic District and decided to try Dexters at Thornton Park for a Father's Day dining experience. Our reservations were at 8:45 and it was perfect timing. The staff was very welcoming and our waiter, Sam, was the best. He was friendly, great for recommendations, and great with his quick checks while we were dining. My meal was the Bayou Rib Eye and it was perfection. The roasted potatoes and arugula mix was a tasty sensation. My husband was happy to see his favorite-seared Ahi on the menu. He said it was delicious but must admit that the wasabi rice was a shock. He did have to leave that on the plate but otherwise, he said Dexters would be hard to beat for the Ahi tenderness and flavor. We are excited to know East Washington Street is filled with fun restaurants and we'll be returning to Dexters for different occasions often.
