It was OK, service OK ,food OK, price a little steep, but no rush and comfortable seats.
Really enjoyed our meal at Devonshire Terrace. The staff were most helpful and the food and wine was just perfect. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.
Very enjoyable lunch in a lovely atmosphere. Good food and service
Lovely meal at Devonshire Terrace - good service and nice ambience
The service wasn't that great though the staff were friendly. The halloumi salad was overpriced for what it was, most if it was green leaves and a tiny bit of beetroot and halloumi. Definitely not worth the money they charged. The sandwiches looked quite nice although one of the party actually left some of the bread as it was huge! The chips were a little greasy.
e will go back and just try something else!W
I use Devonshire Terrace quite often - for its location and because I know I can get reasonable food, sensibly priced and the tables are spaced well enough apart so that you can have a business conversation. It doesn't wow - that's not the point of it - but it's very reliable.
Good venue for a business meeting; quiet but with atmosphere. Conveniently located for Liverpool Street station. Tables are well spaced so you can get some privacy. Service could have been quicker.
Big plush place. Good prices generous portions. A little hotelly maybe if I am being critical, but decent. -Will go back.
Went for an informal lunch with colleagues. They have a good menu, not too long with enough veggie/fish choices. The staff were very pleasant and the atmosphere calm. Very easy have a conversation and settle in for the afternoon.
I was hunting around to find a suitable venue for a post Christmas team breakfast and came across the Devonshire Terrace.
Four of the team ate there, inside, and the venue is very elegant. The staff were attentive, even if we were the only customers at that time.
Between the four of us we had two full English breakfasts, one eggs benedict and an eggs royale.
All the meals were first rate and good value for money. We intend returning to try out their lunchtime and evening menus at some point.
The food was excellent and everyone in my party was very happy with their order. The restaurant is nicely decorated and had a nice buzz over lunch Xmas season. Would go to this restaurant again.
The first thing to strike me was that this didn't feel like a chain - the staff were very engaged and engaging at a busy lunchtime, and provided friendly and very efficient service. My two lunch partners went for truffle tortelloni with crisp Jerusalem artichoke and lemon, globe artichoke & chive butter and gnocchi with butternut squash, rocket, rosemary oil and sage, and declared themselves very happy indeed with those. I had pan-roasted cod with crayfish tails, lobster bisque and crispy leeks - hugely flavoursome: perhaps I might have taken something a little edgier that Muscadet sur Lie (but that was my choice). Much enjoyed all round.
Had lunch here for 4 people. Greeted well and were able to sit outside for pre-meal drinks. The menu was good but as one of the party was gluten free, it was disappointing a restaurant of this standard did not offer a gluten free menu. However, there were a few items on the main menu that were ok. Overall the food and service was good to very good but one of the dishes was warm at best and the side dishes of veg had cooled by the time they got to the table. Overall there is room for improvement for the price we paid (2 courses for around £45 per head including a bottle of wine for £27) but I would go back to give it another go.
I had high hopes walking in as the ambience was nice and quiet. I had avocado on bread that was completely burnt on the underside. The pancakes were burnt in places as was the eggs Benedict.
I was extremely disappointed and when it was pointed out to the waiter so that the chef could be informed, to save other diners, it was brushed aside and no apologies were given.
There were only 2 other tables occupied and so I would have expected the service to be better but it was slow.
Overall, it was awful.
Good nosh - had the sharing board and a couple of sides. So wasn't a heavy full meal but still filling. Service was pleasant but took a while to get the bill despite being relatively quiet. Must be quite nice in the summer outside.
Great as always. Will definitely be booking again. Always a pleasure.
The service from a very friendly Italian waitress was great.
The food was excellent - highly recommend Rabbit meatballs & Polenta with Basil infused Tomato sauce
Little 'Gem' tucked away at the back of Devonshire Square. Breakfast was superb. The atmosphere was quiet and restful which was a great way to start the day and the service was attentive but not overly so, allowing you to call when needed and they didn't smother you. The food was presented beautifully and all of it arrived hot! When we asked for some additional items these were found and nothing was too much trouble. The cost was reasonable and we left very happy - Thank you!
Went here for my wive's birthday dinner as a casual dinner after arriving from a abroad trip. We only arrived around 9pm on a Monday and we were the only diners. It was still nice and we enjoyed the food (there were some good seafood and meat tapas). The only thing is that if there is a large party drinking outside in the courtyard or inside it can get quite loud. We sat far so it didn't bother us. We had good service and enjoyed it even with the limited menu.
A very pleasant leisurely Friday lunch. Service was very speedy although I believe our waiter was probably a new member of staff because there was an awkward wait while he tried to unscrew our bottle of wine and then he spilled it when pouring on more than one occasion. But that certainly didn't spoil our time there. Food was lovely and ambience was great - so we'll be back.
