Very disappointing....birthday dinner; service was very slow even though place seemed empty. Food was boring.....no sauces or anything interesting about the main courses. I mentioned we were gluten free & my main course arrived with uncooked Brussels sprouts & cauliflower (hard as rocks) with a mystery penne noodle floating in it?! Won't go back

Server was outstanding. Food was ok, but definitely not worth the price. Crab cakes in particular were disappointing. Came out mushy and tasteless.

This was the best possible dining experience a person can want. Everything was perfect. Perfect. If I had the means, I would only eat food at Devon's.

The food was ok, and the ambiance was mediocre. We were seated in the bar area which I felt was not very romantic. The service was good and our waitress was friendly. I would not go back again

Over and hour and 1/2 for appetizers. Which was a COLD $98 seafood platter. We were told the kitchen is slow tonight. The entrées were very slow as well. The linguine clams and crab cakes were very tasty. The salmon was over done. When asked by a supervisor how is everything? I informed her it's been taking rather long. She stated " OK enjoy the evening. "
She should've said at least thank you for the $535 dinner bill.

Word of mouth will be unkind for this establishment.

Everything was stupendous. The bread, appetizer, entree and wine options. Service was also great. It was a bit loud, as it was a busy Saturday night and I had to strain my voice to speak to those at my table (4 of us), but that's to be expected at such a popular spot. The only thing that someone at my party noted was that the key lime pie was average but this is definitely a place we'll be going back to.

Very attractive restaurant with nice decor. Despite having a reservation, we were seated at a table next to the bar, under a TV showing the football game. Our waitress made only occasional appearances and would disappear for long periods of time. The food was good, but nothing special - similar to many other restaurants in the area. However, the prices were substantially higher. So, while the dinner was fine, I could have had a similar dinner at other Philadelphia restaurants at a lower cost (and with better services).

My husband and I have had great dinners at Devon in the past . Unfortunately, not on our most recent visit. This was the worst food and service we ever had. We ordered the seafood platter, crab cakes, and lobster Mac and cheese. The seafood platter didn’t have very much and looked like someone just threw shellfish onto ice. Crab cakes as always were amazing. The lobster Mac and cheese obviously had sat in the pass window for awhile as the plate was scorching and the pasta was dry. We sent the Mac and cheese back, they said they were making a fresh batch, but when they brought it out it tasted like someone poured milk on top of pasta. Definitely not the cheesy, buttery experience we’d hoped for. Servers were inattentive and failed to clear our plates. Frustrating that we spent almost $200 on dinner and drinks to walk away wishing we’d gone anywhere else. Next time we’ll wait for a table to open at Parc if we want to celebrate.

Ask to be seated in Michelle's section if you want to be pampered, she always knows the menu like the back of her hand and she gives the best recommendations. The ambiance is dated and the menu has become stagnant but the service level is superb.

I came all the way from London to see family who reside in Philadelphia and wanted to take them out to Devon because of a wonderful past dining experience I had at this restaurant. And our main courses of Ahi Tuna and the Crab Cakes were devine. However so many fails along the way, unfortunately: they sat us in the bar despite we made the reservation months in advance; The fried calamari was an embarrassment (predominantly fried shredded carrots! - what happened to that!!?), I regretted ordering the oysters (because they were out of season- my fault I suppose) and the waiter was so brusque it made us feel so unwelcome. I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't return here. What an overall disappointment.

I’ve been going to Devon for 10+ years. Always have a great experience. Tonight was an utter disappointment. The scallops were over cooked and so salty they were inedible. It doesn’t stop there. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was missing all the lobster, the asparagus had no seasoning, in the tuna entree, the Brussels sprouts were missing their toppings, the risotto was a salt lick. We ordered carrot cake and it was so cold, you couldn’t eat it. The GM did stop by and without telling us, he comped part of our meal. But what a disappointment.

Disappointing- it was our daughters 15th birthday celebration. The woman who showed us to our table was abrupt & very unfriendly. The man who served us (delicious) cheese scones told me what they were after I enquired, but I was put off by the huge lump of chewing gum in his mouth as he answered me. The bussing staff dropped cutlery right left & center. My entree was served & the potatoes were stone cold, I asked for a fresh serving which turned out to be barely any better. Our server never apologized, or took the original serving away, or checked if the second was any better. Does anyone ever train their staff these days - it’s not rocket science & with a relatively pricey menu, I expect better.

Our server was excellent. However he was completely unaware of the “SPecials” such as Halfy Birthday and Wine Cork exchange. He kept calling the manager. When someone called in the morning to confirm our reservation she was also unaware of the cork offer and thought maybe it was available at a different restaurant. Communication seems poor!

The food is always consistent. I particularly like the mixed grill with shrimp, salmon, scallops, and a crab cake. The atmosphere is good and the dining room is usually quiet. The server was friendly and pleasant but not efficient. I asked that the shrimp not have the Cajun seasoning and they did. We also had to ask for the biscuits.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but after Saturday’s visit, I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon. We ordered a Brie and Pistachio salad which came with a green bug crawling throughout the lettuce. The seafood mixed grill was over seasoned and under cooked and the bread was burned. When asked for a different batch of biscuits, we were told they all were made Cajun. This is not the place that won me over years ago and I’m very disappointed

Devon used to be the place for Salmon, not anymore. The piece of salmon that came on my salad wasn't cooked and was not what I asked for. The waiter should have told me they didn't have what I ordered. They used to have it they no longer have good pieces of Salmon cooked the right way. I DO NOT RECOMMEND if you want Salmon

The seafood appetizers were great but I made mistake of ordering a burger. Top bun hard as a rock, bottom bun soggy. Burger was well done, i ordered medium rare. Meat had no flavor. My mistake I will stick with what they know seafood.

This is the second time we decided to dine at Devon on Thanksgiving. What would have been another great dining experience was really adversely affected by the fact that it was terribly warm in the back dining room where we were seated. It was so uncomfortably hot, we had to forget dessert and coffee. I won’t go there again in the late Fall and winter unless I can be seated closer to the entrance or at the bar.

Thanksgiving dinner at a seafood restaurant? That’s what a lot of people asked me when I told them my Thanksgiving dinner plans. I was undecided regarding my dining choices up until we were being seated. We walked by a table that had the turkey dinner plates and I was sold! My friend and I choose to work on this holiday. We had Thanksgiving dinner at The Capital Grille in NYC last year and it was a huge disappointment! Devon did not disappoint. We both enjoyed our meals immensely! Thank you for a good holiday memory.

I dined at Devon’s Seafood Grill to celebrate my birthday with loved ones. It was my first time and I’ll definitely be back. Our server for the night was Brian. He checked on us often and was very helpful with the menu, wine selection as well as bringing me complementary ice cream to go with my birthday cupcakes for me and my guest. The food and ambiance was great!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I've lived in Center City Philadelphia for 40 years. I eat out a lot land know the restaurants. I've eaten at Devon Grill innumerable times since it opened. It must be under new ownership or new management. When I take the time, I'm going to write to corporate headquarters. My drink, Grey Goose on the rocks, was not Grey Goose. I sent it back, and the second glass tasted watered down. My companion ordered 9 ounces of wine, and it turned out to be only 6. we were also "short changed" on the appetizers. They only served two spring rolls, two lobster rolls and two crab cakes, when they normally serve three. The portions were miniscule. For example, the spring rolls were only as wide as cigars. We did not stay for the entrees. Management is either "skimming", or there has been a corporate change. In any event, I will not return.
