Devon Seafood Grill - Philadelphia
It was a surprise date night, we were a half hour late due to a bike festival that had the streets blocked off, we finally get there and the zipper popped on my dress, I'm upset and ready to end the night but the hostess overheard my panic and suggested that I run around the corner to H & M and she would hold our table. In the end we really enjoyed our evening. the food and drinks delicious, the promptness of our waiter was great. We will be back again
We went on a Saturday evening and the
We came here for dinner before a show. The atmosphere was very private where we were seated. I had scallops that were like butter and Melted in my mouth. My husband had the halibut which he could not stop talking about accompanied by the mashed potatoes. We enjoyed the crème brûlée for dessert which we still can’t stop talking about. Definitely going to come back soon!
Our server, Douglas S, had spot on recommendations. He was attentive but didn’t hover. It was my husbands birthday and Douglas brought out a slice of carrot cake with a candle on it surprising the both of us. The food and ambience was lovely.
We enjoyed our Mother’s Day dinner at Devon’s. Our server was fabulous, and she had no help from a bus boy all evening. She refilled water and ice tea all evening and cleared all of our plates. Food was great and your biscuits, hot out of the oven, delicious. We are from Los Angeles and our daughter attends school in Philadelphia, we will be back to Devon’s.
Every experience my husband and I have at Devons can be rated a 10!
I eat there alot,
The food is always good especially the shrimp taco's and the lobster mac and cheese
The food was great. The lobster mac and cheese was so good I could t stop eating it. The desserts were really good as well.
This is not my first time coming here but every time I am here there is a new experience whether it’s the waitress or bartender or a greeter it’s been amazing.
very good food and service as always, only recommendation is for the people sitting near the kitchen. Don’t have the staff hanging over the walls near the tables talking during people’s meals.
Lovely Mother's Day lunch w/family. Great food and great service as always!
This was our 5th trip and it has yet to disappoint. Our waiter Caesar was phenomenal.
Thank you again for another great visit. Hoping for number 6 soon.
I’ve eaten at this restaurant many times. Everything was excellent as usual.
Fast service, great seating fresh table clothes for every table. Waiters are very friendly and enganging food was amazing.
Terrible service- odor of sour rags in the restaurant. Food was sub par and definitely not worth the $$. You are better off going to ocean prime for the money, or frankly anywhere else. HORRIBLE experience
On a very busy evening you could tell only a Experienced wait staff could keep things running smoothly. Our waitress did just that but there was a rushed feel. Food was good, prices were a little high ($60 per 2 courses no drinks). I’d probably place Devon slightly below 4 stars given the value but at least the food and service were on point.
Very fun atmosphere at night. Food is good and a great value. Wait staff very friendly, though extremely busy.
Good bartender. Very nice interior. Always enjoy coming here.
It was very pleasant. The food was great the drinks were delicious. I will be coming back again.
Was not pleased at all; was there on Saturday the 11th to celebrate Mother’s Day; we waited so long for our food; then to get our food not only was it not cooked all the way it was not good; I had such a nice experience when I came for restaurant week; not sure if I will be returning.
My date and I enjoyed our dinner. It was his first time and my second. We were extremely please with the food. Parking however was a little nerve racking. Had to end up parking near 17th and Market. The lots were full and there was no street parking. Other than that the experience was a very good one. Our waitress was so bomb. Everything she suggested was spot on. Again our food was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Had dinner and it was delicious. I had the Sea Bass special and it was flaky and just the right crispiness.
The food is delicious but our service was bad. They got my order wrong and we were in the restaurant for lunch and it took almost TWO HOURS...not good when you're on your lunch hour.
My friend and I chose the 3-course lunch at $23 and, after you live and eat mostly in New York, we recognize it as a terrific bargain! Not only that, but I have to give it up for our server, Issac. One of the most professional waiters ever. Three cheers.
If I could give more stars I would. Amazing experience.
All of our food was very good. The only thing I had to send back my roasted potatoes because they were hard, you couldn't even pierce them with a fork. Everything else was very good.
Unfortunately a delivery truck was parked out front from right after we ordered through the end of out meal. Devon is exceptional, and one of the less pretentious gems on the square...it is unfortunate that they are also the only restaurant that still has a loading zone in front...all the other places, even the residences have cones to prevent this from happening. Nevertheless it was a great meal.
When we first entered the restaurant I was concerned with the noise level. My mother-in-law has a cochlear implant so background noise is magnified. Luckily we were brought to a quiet area and our night was spectacular. Brooke our server was amazing - very attentive and full of suggestions. We ordered several appetizers and the pace was perfect. Her suggestion of the tuna dish was spot on. We were celebrating my son's graduation from Temple University and Brooke made our evening extra special by adding a candle to the peanut butter torte - and brought extra spoons for sharing. And the Irish Coffees topped off the evening perfectly.
The food was cold and took a very long time to come out. This experience was nothing like I’ve had in the past.
Let's put it this way--I can't wait to go back to Devon. Everything was amazing--great service, good food, a bit noisy, but everyone was having a good time!
Outside seating is amazing - nice little neighborhood overlooking a park.
Really delicious and a wonderful environment for dinner!
Not quite up to expectations tonight. We were missed the first time the biscuits were served. Appetizers came pretty quickly. Unfortunately the mussels were over-cooked and a bit mushy. Then the wait began. Nearly 30 minutes later, the main courses finally arrived. The steak was cooked as requested. The crab cake was good, but quite small. The sides were unfortunately barely warm. The brocolinini was cold. The asparagus risotto was tepid. For a meal that cost more than $70 per person is too much for very average quality meal.
We had a great experience with delicious meals and excellent service. Value is very good. Red snapper sea bass and scallops were standouts! Great for a couple or group. Comforting conversational hum enhances atmosphere; big and bustling restaurant but the feel is private.
We went to dinner here for my sister's birthday. It was five of us ladies. We seated in a semi-private area and our waitress was great. She made great recommendations and the food was GREAT! We truly enjoyed our selves and highly recommend Devon Seafood Grill. Simply delicious.
I had the lobster bique and I truly believe it was about the best I ever had in my life! I told my table mates about it. Also the chilean sea bass was excellent.
So this was me and my wife's first time at Devon's. Boy are we happy we decided to come here. We had 6pm reservations and when we got there 10 minutes early we were seated immediately. We had the mussel's and calamari appetizer. I can say this was the first time every mussel in the bowl was cooked. The Calamari was good but we've had better, I like mine crispy not soft. The waiter recommended the "mixed seafood grill" and we sure were happy he did! Our food was cooked to pefection. I wouldn't change a thing. Our server (Isaac) was great, he never left our area. He kept my glasses full which for me is important. We can't wait to go back.
Our server was friendly, attentive, and efficient. We were seated in a quiet area for most of our meal. Towards the end a large group arrived. Our swordfish and salmon entrees were excellent and there was a good choice of sides. We shared a giant slice of moist carrot cake for dessert. The slice was so large that we still had some to take home.
Good food, didn't like sitting near kitchen an especially didnt like sitting next to prep table for wait staff
Salmon undercooked. Tuna cold.
Restaurant was chilly on the inside. Food was below expectations.
