My friend and I had a very enjoyable experience at Devon, once again. Our cocktails were delicious and our meal was really excellent. Some of my choices weren’t available to me as I have to be strictly gluten free but my scallops with lobster risotto was truly outstanding. I always have a great experience at Devon as your seafood is fresh and prepared well. During the pandemic you are taking every precaution and that is appreciated and commendable. Thank you. We will dine here again. My friend thinks that your crab cakes are the best around!!
Wonderful food and excellent service. Outdoor dining (COVID restrictions) was a bit nosier than dining inside.
Great hot toddy!! Salmon was great . It took us a while to get seated even though we had a reservation.
I decided to come here after hearing such great reviews but I left disappointed. The waiter forgot about us multiple times and let our food sit until I asked a manager for our food and was able to immediately retrieve it. We waited for about an hour or so for our main entree so that’s I’m sure that’s why our food came out cold. The drinks were good however. I may give Devon’s another try but for now my experience was sub par.
It’s was wondering .me &my date will definitely din here again
The food was delicious and the service was excellent
Lobster Mac-N-Cheese had little flavor, but the lobster risotto was phenomenal. Service was strangely lacking attention. We would have drank more and had dessert if the waiter made a little effort.
All things are different during outdoor only COVID19 dining. But it's an even field and this review is for that environment.
I'm pleased Devon was able to put something together for dining. The temperature is comfortable, too hot if anything. But you can always shed the coat or ask for an adjustment, which we did and they accommodated.
Service varies. We had terrible service last month, but the server this time was attentive and timely. There is some delay with the seating outside, but it didn't effect the flow of our meal.
Food same as always. Delicious!
Keep it up Devon during this crazy time for dining out. I hope you survive and we see you when all this over.
Excellent restaurant please continue to support our small businesses during these trying times.
It was a birthday celebration. It was great . Our server Bree was great .
We had a lovely lunch dining outside in a warm tent. The food was delicious and we had excellent service. Happy that we had the chance to lunch at Devon.
Great Evening ! Nice food, very good service ! Real treat !
Another fantastic meal at Devon seafood Grill. Exceptional service, delicious food and a beautiful view made for a lovely late lunch.
Normally I sit at the bar have drinks and food. However, since indoor dining has been shut down, I find myself looking for outdoor seating at my favorite spots. We sat outside on a Sunday afternoon in December. The heaters were on but not really needed. The menu is limited, but there has been no impact on the quality of the food. Overall, Devon is making the best of the situation. One thing, due to limited seating I HIGHLY recommend you try to make reservations.
John Doyle (mgr) spoke with us about our experience. He was very kind and genuine in talking to us. We are regulars at Devon and will continue to eat there and call it our most favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. Ken Tubbs and Brian Korney.
Great service, wonderful outdoor space,
Rude, pretentious, in attentive staff. Like we didn’t exist. They’re too used to living in their glory days. A good dose of humility will come their way soon. It is well deserved
Sadly disappointed after making a reservation for date night at Devon. I thought all of the restaurants on Rittenhouse were ready for the colder weather and was sadly disappointed with Devon. Although there are tables and heaters, nothing is enclosed and there was one waitress for the entire outdoor area on a Saturday night. The poor waitress was doing her best to run around and care for everyone, but we threw in the towel after 50 (yes FIFTY) minutes to get two drinks and no sight of our appetizers. After following up a second time and going into the restaurant to check on our apps, it was clear a bartender and two people in the kitchen were trying to support all of the takeout orders and other frustrated patrons. At that point, I told the bartender and waitress we were leaving. They were both very apologetic about the experience and that the manager couldn’t come and talk to me.
Despite being a pre-COVID regular, I won’t be back anytime soon.
Waitstaff and manager rushed our meal bc the kitchen was closing. Granted —we were sat at 8:30 and ordered by 9. Philly restaurants close at TEN. Never told us when last call was and not offered us any other drinks than our initial round. No offer of dessert or coffees either. Server was abrupt and did not seem to understand anything about the menu. Rude service combined with average food. Will never go back or recommend...especially with so many quality and committed restaurants in my city. Terrible end to an otherwise great night in Philadelphia.
We had a lovely outdoor Friday lunch! Our server was impeccable, ....friendly and attentive!
Family friendly and good food. Service was a little slow but is was thanksgiving. Hopeful for better outside seating since you cant eat inside. The outdoor seating could have had more cover/shelter.
Difficult to make dinner outside on Thanksgiving, but Devon Seafood staff carried it off, with a few minor glitches. The turkey dinner was all we expected and we had enough leftovers for another meal at home. Kudos to Devon for making Thanksgiving during the pandemic as good as it was.
I decided to visit for the first time with my two teenage daughters and was pleasantly surprised by how well this establishment seemingly has adapted to COVID safety procedures. Outside dining with heaters was very comfortable and provided a great experience. The service was outstanding and went beyond my expectations. I have seen this place a million times and always wanted to try it, who knew that my first time would be during a pandemic. However the experience was enjoyable and I will plan to visit again and again.
Welcoming a new resident to the city for the first time.
Great restaurant. I have been there many times with my family when we visit Philly. Great area. Seafood is really good.
Service was outstanding. Food was decent. Sadly the ambience and overall state of restaurant has declined.
We had the scallops the other night which was part of the email promotions which are a good thing. I would say the food at Devon is consistently good.
Great dinner, great service , great experience.
Food is good, drink selection could be better but it was a nice experience overall.
I took my boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday, expecting quality food for the cost, we were very disappointed. The appetizers were fine, but each of our entrees had issues. My boyfriend ordered the Maple Plank Roasted Salmon, he substituted the potatoes for lobster Mac and Cheese. He tried the Mac and Cheese and disliked it immediately, saying that it was bland and the noodles weren’t properly cooked. I chalked it up to preference and didn’t think much of it, until there was an issue with the salmon as well. His salmon was extremely wet in the middle as if it was uncooked or cooked from frozen. He attempted to eat a bit of it, but it was too undercooked. The redeemable thing here is that our waitress, who was very kind offered to have the dish remade for him. He did not want the meal remade as he was already so disappointed. The waitress had that dish removed from our check, which was a nod to her customer service skills. My food overall was good, the filet mignon and crab cake were great on the surf and turf platter I ordered. My issue with my meal was the whipped Yukon Gold Potatoes, they tasted as if spoiled milk was used to prepare them. I did not want to add an additional complaint at the time, so I just avoided the potatoes and ate the rest of my meal. It’s very unfortunate that our food experience was so bad, as we had a great waitress and the restaurant ambiance was nice. Sadly, the atmosphere was not enough to make a redeemable experience for us.
Wow, Devon Seafood has taken a dive. Very sad to see this once-classy destination to have fallen so far. Covid or other reason, Devon has been overtaken by Parc— even though both are obnoxious dinner venues on Saturdays, when some marching band has decided to take over the sidewalk on a weekly basis. Avoid this block on Saturdays, avoid Devon until they refresh entirely — cleanliness, menu, reputation.
We were recently there on a Saturday have been regular goers for a few years now and I think the food is consistently good quality I had a lovely black sea bass and my friend had salmon. Our server Doug is just a delight he made the evening kudos to him.
My only if you want to call it a complaint is the fruit fly issue which has been going on now for a few years and seems to be unsolvable. It was better than in the past I only noticed two accompanying my Manhattan. Maybe it was the sweetness I don't think my friend had any issue.Their email club has some good promotions so much so we're going to go back this coming Wednesday for a scallop special.
We sat outside due to COVID and Devon made it a white table cloth experience. It was adequately heated and the service was fast but not rushed. My guests from Michigan were very happy.
Devon always delivers fresh and delicious food. The scallop artichoke dip special was the best artichoke dip I have ever had. I hope it becomes a regular! The service was also outstanding..
My mom needs to get out she been in the house the whole pandemic. We loved the food and staff and she was all smiles. Can’t wait to go back‼️‼️
My best friend 40th Birthday
The service was amazing. Isaac was phenomenal. I will be returning.
Great dinner excellent host
Very nice evening. Food was very good and a change from what usual restaurant would have. Excellent seafood. Service was excellent, went the extra mile.
Very nice lunch. Food was good. Most people were outside, but we were inside. This meant it was quieter and less crowded. Service was unobtrusive and timely.
