We came to Devon for our two-year wedding anniversary. When we arrived at our table, there was a card congratulating us and wishing us happy anniversary. The restaurant provided complimentary champagne and dessert to ensure the evening was special. Good food and great service. We will be back.
Service was great. Three course prix fix option is a pretty decent deal. The lobster bisque was outstanding. Maple glazed salmon very good and my friend liked the Japanese seasoned swordfish.
Our overall experience at Devon Seafood was great.
The staff was friendly the food was absolutely delicious and the portions were worth the money.
My only call out is that we had the worst table in the restaurant.
Not sure why they sent us facing the kitchen when the restaurant was not even half full.
Remarked on reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. When we arrived at our table there were small hearts sprinkled and s note offering gratis champagne and dessert
We live the warm biscuits they serve and both of us enjoyed our entrees. I had fresh rainbow trout and my husband had the cioppino and we shared a nice sized piece of carrot cake. The service started out very slow but once a waiter explained our waitress had a large private party and thought her tables were covered; he took care of us
The street-level bar was busy and energetic but the bartenders were attentive. The downstairs dining room was quiet although not very busy. Service was good but took 10m to get noticed.
We had the best time at Devon's. The food was excellent and our waiter didn't miss a detail! We highly recommend this restaurant.
I've eaten in the bar area several times and am always satisfied. Entrees and appetizers are enjoyable. I don't eat many sweets so I can't comment on desserts. I'm always here on a Sunday so it's nice to have 50% off most bottles of wine. Service was efficient. I'll be back.
Loved this restaurant. Service was great and so was the food. They also have fantastic drinks. Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to go back.
food quality & service attention was outstanding! Only held back a 5-star rating as kitchen was a bit backed up and slow...fortunately we were not in a hurry, so the relaxed pace of 3 hrs for party of 4 was still enjoyable.
We had a group of 8 and we were shown to a fantastic little alcove with a privacy wall. We felt like we could enjoy a table-wide conversation without bothering the other guests! Food was fabulous! Service was amazing!
The staff was fantastic! We were celebrating my son’s birthday and the staff was awesome!
TERRIBLE!!! Do NOT dine here!!!!
The for was delicious!!
The waitress was very nice & accommodating. I will definitely be dining with you again!!
Fantastic. We love Devon but this was the best experience yet! Great food, great service, great ambiance!
We had a great time. Family was in from out of town. Our waiter (Issaiah) was excellent. Very attentive.
We were glad we selected Devon. Good food. Half price wine bottle. Couldn't go wrong.
It was only OK. Lobster overcooked, Seafood grill nothing to write home about. Veggies, sides and appetizers very good.
Very good food for a great value, especially their 3-course Prix fixe. Fantastic service from Isaiah, good wine options, and wonderful location and decor. We will be sure to visit the Milwaukee location after this visit in Chicago.
Food was amazing! Michael our server was wonderful. If you like seafood it's a must try.
Terrible. We went for Happy Hour and the only way you can use the Happy Hour menu is to sit at the upstairs or downstairs bar. The server was so busy telling us what we couldn’t have , like no coke refills and only red or white bar wine it was really a turn off. Will never go back again. A waste of time and money.
We had such a great dinner at Devon that we came back the next day for happy hour. Amazing food, great staff, and unbeatable happy hour specials.
Great food and ambience. Friendly staff. Awesome $1 oyster happy hour
Awesome service. Awesome food. My favorites: lobster bisque and the lobster Mac and Cheese.
Best seafood my husband and I ever had. Attentive staff, nice atmosphere, loved everything about it!!!
The food was hit or miss. Some items were great but some were not, like the scallops. They were over-cooked and too chewy. The seared tuna was ok. The whole fish (grilled branzino?) was very good. The service was excellent...top notch. The desserts were underwhelming.
Everything from us entering the building to us leaving the building was amazing. Everyone was diligent. We were there for my moms birthday and she loved every minute. We will be returning
Nice place. Great drinks. Great food. Great customer service. It was our anniversary and they had a card there with champagne and dessert on the house
Before dinner we stopped for happy hour drinks and appetizers the happy hour martinis were only $8 and the oysters were $1 each. Then we went downstairs to the dining room for a quiet dinner. My cioppino was excellent and my friend's lobster salad was very good. Only disappointment was the restaurant not giving me a birthday dessert.
Great recommendations from staff. Large chilled shellfish platter, strawberry pistachio salid, Maine lobster bisque, seafood mixed grill were all fresh and delicious. Outstanding wine list.
My wife Joy and I had a very good time. The downside is that we were there on a Tuesday evening so I don't think this is their normal run rate. Anywho, the service was personal, prompt and professional. The food was outstanding across the three dimensions of preparation, presentation and palette. I had the filet mignon, crab cake, Parmesan roasted potatoes and asparagus. Joy had salmon, lobster macaroni and cheese, fire shrimp, crab cake and asparagus. We shared each others dish and agreed on consistency and quality. For an appetizer, I had the lobster bisque soup which can only be described as heavenly. For drinks, I started with a scotch while we both enjoyed wine with our meals. The wines were perfectly paired. I would note that our server was on the younger side and couldn't offer much guidance on wine, but our selections were fine. For desert, we enjoyed the chocolate velvet cake. For Southerners and folks who know what velvet cake means, this is different. Its a chocolate cake with a ganache. However, its exquisite. Joy and I shared and enjoyed the accompanying raspberry ice cream. Bottom-line, its that its a great place. It features some private rooms for a more intimate setting. You should make a reservation, but it wasn't crowed. Reservation save you guessing if you can sit. One last point, they offer valet parking which is like $15. However, if you are lucky and use the Chicago Park app, you can park for $8.00 for two hours. However, given the menu prices, you don't go there on a budget. I strongly recommend it.
Poor service, sat for 20 minutes without being acknowledged, eventually had to get up and ask for a menu. Apparently our waitress didn’t see us...though there was barely any other customers. Food was decent, Salmon and potatoes were bland. Green beans very good. In short: the food looked better on the menu than it tasted.
Food was good, but service was extremely poor. That is why I would not recommend. It was our second visit but I'm not sure we will be back again.
The food was very good, atmosphere too. We visited on a Sunday night, bottles of wine were half priced, which was a nice surprise. Plus our waitress comped our two soups for no other reason than we were from out of town. Nice touch. Will return.
I'm just going to run off a list of adjectives that best describes my experience: abomidable, clueless, exorbitant, lackluster, unsavory, egregiously overrated!
The food was underwhelming. Not worth it for the prices
Great service. Attentive and accommodating. Atmosphere conducive to conversation and an enjoyable meal time.
Very nice meal
Always pleasant and consistent. Friendly staff too, all the time.
Many good choices for fresh fish and seafood here as well as tasty salads and a variety of tempting choices for each course.
Great food and drinks! We loved our waiter (Devin) also!
Devon was great as usual, delicious fresh seafood, awesome selection of apps & sides. Wait staff was very knowledgeable & attentive
