Devon Seafood Grill - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I decided to go on Valentine's Day. She wanted crab legs. I am always up for seafood. We have been here before so we had no problem returning. The food was very good and the sides especially were quite interesting. There was a good variety of options on the menu. We recommend this restaurant for reliable seafood. I also like the size of the tables for two ---larger than most and we did not feel crampted.
In Chicago for a couple of days and found Devon based on other reviews. Liked the ambiance in the downstairs dining area. Service was wonderful (Matt did a great job). I had the fresh catch Cod which was delicious, but my wife had the Char Crusted Ahi Tuna which was out of this world! Only negative I can say is the shrimp cocktail was a little dry, but the cocktail and remoulade that it came with were really good. We would enjoy going back one day.
I went for my birthday during restaurant week. I made a reservation and clearly stated that it was for my birthday, but nothing was done. No lit candle, nothing. I ordered a Caesar salad which was good and then I ordered an 8oz filet. I ordered medium but it came medium well. I should have complained at the time, but I didn’t. The server was outstanding and very helpful.
I don’t know what t is normally like, but on a Sunday it was empty. It was Super Bowl Sunday.
I’m not sure if I would return because I wasn’t blown away by the food.
We went during restaurant week bc they were offering a great deal. We were seated in a very romantic, secluded area with our very own dining section. Our service was wonderful. Our waiter offered good suggestions and was very personable. They offered good food portions. The lobster bisque was very good. My mixed seafood grill was ok. The problem for me was that it seemed like they just dumped a bunch of cajun or blackened seasoning on top of the seafood AFTER it was cooked. It made it all very salty. My husband really enjoyed his salmon and the chocolate cake was good. Overall, I thought it was a good dining experience and I would recommend them.
I had a group of 7 for a business dinner and we didn't want to be placed in a loud area. The Devon people accommodated us by putting us in a semi-private room that allowed us to have a good conversation. The food was excellent as was the service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
This was my first visit and I enjoyed it. The Restaurant Week menu had great options. Dinner was very tasty. The drinks were yummy. The service staff was very pleasant. Food service was quick. It was a great experience. I would recommend and certainly visit again.
Our waitress was so amazing. The place wasn't very busy which kind of had us worried but once we got the bread and our soups we were sold. Since they bring in fresh fish and meat everyday they were out of what my husband ordered but he changed his order and it was just as good. I would highly recommed Devon's to anyone!
