Devon Seafood + Steak - Oakbrook Terrace Ratings and Reviews
Tonight was a disappointment. The first booth going into the bar does not get good service. The oysters were filled with water in each shell and the Maple plank Salmon would only appeal to someone who enjoys it under cooked (Rare) which we were not warned about. We have always enjoyed the oysters and salmon in the past....we will try dining here again, but not for awhile.
I'm so glad I came here with my date. Had a great time and loved the food. We ordered the mix seafood grill, filet with scallops, salmon carpaccio and the calamari. It was a lot of food but everything was wonderful. Best scallops I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. Prices were reasonable I thought
We ordered the appetizer sampler for the 4 of us and it was outstanding! Next, came the Caesar salad, that my husband and I split. For our entrees, the men each had the seafood sampler (grilled) As for the wives, one of us had the 6oz filet and the other had the seared scallops. The dinners come with 2 sides. Their lobster mac and cheese is awesome! We were too full for desert and I ended up taking home half of my lobster mac and cheese. We go here for special occasions, because it's on the pricey side, but the food is excellent!
Celebrated my birthday with my family here. Our server was fantastic and contributed to our great experience. Noise level was high and lighting was not great because they used spotlights so some of the table was very brightly lit while other parts were dark. There was a party room next door with a live band so we were able to enjoy the great music. The food was excellent! Great biscuits. Calamari was good, but probably would not order again. Oysters were fresh and large. Shared the Lobster Cobb with the table and it had large pieces of lobster! The crab cakes were excellent! Carrot cake was delish!! Will definitely return!
Very good food and best waiter we've had since visiting Devon for the past several years. However, it's really NOISY there, once the tables start to fill up. And even though it was for a birthday celebration and this was specified when reservations were made, there was no offer of a special consideration.
It was My Birthday Dinner. Jay was our Waiter. We had the Crab cakes for an Appetizer (Best we ever had) 95% jumbo lump crab. Ummm. We all had 6oz blue cheese crusted filet/mash potatoes(Most delicious mashed potatoes I have ever had) green bean with/pecan and Onions. And let me tell you about the Carrot cake. Wow. Cream cheese Frosting/toasted cocount/pecans. Honeatly I could not have asked for a better Experience. It was our 2nd time. Both times were Perfect. Devon's is a Must Try💜
Service was excellent and attentive. Food was outstanding and delicious, especially the Chef's fresh fish special for the day, Mahi Mahi. I have found this restaurant to be extremely consistent in the quality of it's food and service. It is a great place to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and we brought our new born baby with us, who happened to be sleeping during most of dinner. The waitresses were very accommodating for us, even bringing out a sling to prop our baby's carseat up on while we were there. The food we ordered came out quickly and tasted really good. I'd definitely like to go back again.
We drove from Sugar Grove to treat a friend to the fashionably early menu. We couldn’t have asked for a better time. The food was superb (don’t miss out on the lobster bisque). Having the warm biscuits served individually is a special treat. Our guest of honor said it was the best salmon she had ever had. Every food choice was excellent. Our server made the evening more special by being delightful and attentive. This might become our go-to spot!
Happy hour on a Friday had good options and prices. The appetizers (shrimp tacos, bruschetta, shrimp tempura roll) came quickly and were pretty good. We ordered a selection of oysters and there was a long hair attached to the crackers right in the middle of the tray! Our food was comped but not the drinks??? We will not return and our appetites changed.
Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Water was refilled promptly; iced tea was refilled without asking.
The food was served on a timely basis, but we were not rushed between courses. Both of us had the trout; mine was grilled; my husband opted for the blackened preparation. Delicious.
Kudos to the hostess; I was unable to access my birthday meal coupon. She was able to find it in their system with my email address.
All in all, an excellent dining experience.
Food was reliably delicious but our server ruined our evening. She was overbearing, constantly interrupted our conversations and at one point leaned over to within 12” of my steak to tell me how delicious it looked. So many other terrific staff, just a shame we ran into this one. Will still return but will be careful where we sit.
I reserved a table for two for a birthday event. I drop off a cake and flowers ahead of time and gave the name of the recipient. They didn't even have a vase to put the flowers in! They printed up the birthday girl's name on the menu which was a nice touch . Our server, Rebecca was very professional and accommodating. We started out with calamari. It was the worst calamari ever had my life I don't know where their getting it from but they should try someone else. No flavor and pieces that didn't even look like they came from a squid We both ordered fish I order the seared Ahi Tuna and she wanted swordfish. I almost don't believe that the swordfish was actually swordfish. It was entirely too soft. swordfish is supposed to be almost a meat like consistency. It had an odd flavor as well It was anything but meaty The Ahi Tuna I ordered was supposed to be seared. It was cooked all the way through and tasted just like the swordfish. The green beans were stiff and undercut the highlight of the meal was the lobster mac & cheese and seriously how can you screw that up? Within glasses of wine the bill came to $112 for going to work because I never had.. it was cooked all the way through and tasted just like the swordfish. Within glasses of wine the bill came to $112 for going to work because I never had. i've been in the restaurant business for 30 years. I would be embarrassed to be putting out a product like that. If anyone in management read this you can certainly give me a call and see about making amends somehow.
