Devon Seafood + Steak - Oakbrook Terrace
Happy Hour (bar only) Monday – Friday 4-7pm | Sunday 4-9pm
Love the crab cakes
I've eaten at Devon several times now and this particular experience was just 'ok' for me. The service and ambience were outstanding as usual, but I felt like the food quality wasn't up to the typical standard. In the past, the food is cooked perfectly and never disappoints with taste. However my potatoes and brussel sprouts were both undercooked and the steak was definitely medium rare/rare as opposed to medium which I had ordered. It's still a great spot to go eat and is one of my favorites, so I'm hoping this last experience was just an off day for them.
Always fresh seafood prepared excellently. Great happy hour, too.
We Celebrated our girlfriends end of the year gift exchange. Unbeknownst to me we ended up with a semi- private room. It was very much appreciated. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
We had a wonderful experience. Our waiter Angela Walker, was very accommodating and attentive. Although the cook could not prepare my steak properly, I was grateful for their efforts. Not to mention the cheesecake and carrot cake, both were delicious. I will definitely comeback.
The waiter was great and the food.... Amazing 😊😊
Definitely going again!
Birthday dinner for my husband. Excellent food and service.
The seafood menu was fantastic. We highly recommend the swordfish if it is on the specials menu, it was prepared perfectly and the flavor was absolutely exceptional.
This was a great birthday dinner! It started with the yummy warm cheddar biscuits with honey-always a treat! We didn't have our bottle of wine yet at the table (did have this problem the last time too), but it arrived for the spicy chili cauliflower appetizer, which is my favorite. I ordered my favorite charred ahi tuna with asparagus and herb roasted potatoes and foyat sauce. The tuna was excellently prepared, as were the accompaniments. My date had a filet with shrimp, which was also prepared nicely. We got the new dessert, which was a chocolate peanut butter mousse on a pretzel crust-it was very good. It came with a candle for my birthday & was complimentary! We had a not so good experience on our last dinner, as the tuna was not prepared properly & had membrane through it that could not be cut with a steak knife. This time it was perfect! Thank you! We will definitely be back!!! The atmosphere was more vibrant, as there was a jazz band playing in the private dining room .
Went for my husband's birthday celebration. Our first time to Devon. Husband ordered a Cesar salad and i had the lobster bisque, then we shared the firecracker shrimp. Cesar salad was good, thr soup might have been the bottom, there was no chunks of lobster. The shrimp were pretty good! I orderes a filet with parmesan potatoes and green beans. My steak was just ok, my potatoes were cold and over cooked. My husband got the filet and lobster tail. The filet was over cooked. Cocktails were good and strong!
Always want to show off Devon to business colleagues. Great food, ambiance, and world famous biscuits w maple butter.
Food was delicious.
Our food was good although the Maple Plank Salmon was very mild tasting. The sides were great. My only disappointment was in the Maker's Mark Old Fashion which was bland and seemed to have little liquor in it.
The biscuits as always were delightful
Blown away by the quality hidden in this small strip mall. Highlights were definitely the Lobster Bisque, one of the best I've ever eaten, the Crab Cakes, that was stuffed with crab meat, not bread, and the barrel-aged Manhattan. Will definitely come back.
Service and food were very good. We tried a new menu item "Snapper" that was just added to their menu and it was accompanied by Asparagus and Herb Crusted Potatoes. Flavor, taste and quality were notable. The only issue with this restaurant is that the beverage service is too slow. I waited about 1/2 hour for Johnny Walker Black on the Rocks, which seems to be unusual. I would hope that they could get more bartenders to handle drink orders.
AJ was one of the best servers we’ve ever had. He was very nice, attentive and knowledgeable about menu. He was just a very nice guy as well. We all enjoyed him and our delicious dinner and cocktails! Ivan makes a mean Cosmo!!
Devon quality of food and service improved tremendously compared to a year before we were there. Waitress is very knowledgeable with the menu and would be able to answer many of our questions regarding food style and preparation independently and acutely. Dishes presentations are more modenized, new rectangle plates and nice natural food color combinations. We ordered three - course meal deal. I had a 8 oz Canadian lobster as main entree, with cajun seafood gumbo, two side dishes - roasted Brussels sprouts with prociutto and German braised cabbage, , and create brulee. My husband’s 3 courses are, French onion soup, roasted Brussels sprouts and yukon meshed potato with seafood mix grilled entree. His desert is cheese cake - is the best one I have ever had.
Love they just steamed the lobster and put the seasoning aside. I like to eat seafood without much seasoning. All seafood is fresh.
We also got special price $1/each raw oyster. Best value and we are very satisfied with every we order.
We ordered one glass of dirty Martini for my husband and strawberry mojito with basil for me. Live them.
They gave us $25 credit for my birthday. We are very happy with this meals and services. Highly recommended.
Great evening of cocktails, shared biscuits w maple honey, fantastic filet and decadent chocolate cake.
Great experience! I will return.
Excellent fresh fish, good variety. Great atmosphere-lighting and booths, Great service!
Devon is a great restaurant! The food is delecious, the service is excellent and the ambiance is perfect. We have been there several times and we have never been disappointed! It is a must visit in Oak Brook!
Food was good, as always
Great place to dine in the western suburbs. Great seafood!!!
We really enjoy dining at Devon. Maggie K. Is our favorite server and Katie the Manager is genuinely nice and always greets us at our table. Great service, atmosphere and food.
Oysters were pricey but fresh and delicious. Otherwise prices very reasonable. The fried cauliflower is addictive!
It's amazing time after many times the consistency is always the same, I never show up thinking hoping its going to be good because I know it will be!!!!
Hostess' alway very warm and friendly when you walk in. Our server was sweet and efficient. As for the food, starters (including the addictive biscuits) were all excellent from the salads and squash soup to a delicous appetizer of breaded cauliflower. The disappointment was the entrees, lobster tail was undercooked but my father did not want to send it back and two of us had the turkey special and were very disappointed it had a funky taste like it was old and the dressing was very dry. My husband went with his usual joyce farm chicken and it was excellent as always. Dessert didn't wow but was good with great coffee! So even though we didn't care for 3 out of 4 entrees, the sides, starters and service more than make up for it so we wil continue to return and recommend :)
Had to wait 20 minutes after my reservation time. No valet parking, both my guest and I are disable and will not be going there again. Gumbo just ok, not much sausage. Had the Cilpinno which was very good, however had to bring my own gluten free rolls and bread for the soup/ Waitress, Nicko, was excellent!
We had a mixed experience - two of us had steak and seafood and it was excellent. One of us had the Thanksgiving dinner and it was terrible, start to finish. The rolls were very spicy and there was no alternative, the soup was watery, the turkey was tasteless and the gravy entirely forgettable. There was much more dark meat than white; a strange combination I have never encountered in 7 Thanksgivings at other restaurants (since I don't like dark meat, it was a waste to me). The cranberry had something else mixed in it that I didn't like; it was advertised as cranberry which I was looking forward to and it was something else that did not taste good. The only items on the plate that passed muster were the potatoes and the yams, which were excellent. The pumpkin pie was also disappointing: watery and completely without a strong pumpkin flavor. All this for $39! I should have refused to pay as this was really unacceptable. Of course this is not the specialty of the restaurant but that is true of many places and still they are able to present a dinner that is worthy of the price. I don't think this place even tried. Our server was exceptional and I think knew I was having a miserable experience, doing everything he could to make it tolerable. Likely a fine place for steak and seafood; but never go there for Thanksgiving!
It all began with the horrific murder of a family in a small town outside Denver. The fascination with the psychology of an emotionally unstable man who did the unthinkable. This whirlwind of debate ended up with the impending cockblocking of an entire Restuarant while we enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal. We are forever grateful for what Devon brought us.
Our waitress Nicky was excellent! Nice personality and very efficient. Thanks
Small portions, not so great selection changed menu. Wont be back we liked it the old way, new menu is awful!
Server Janet is the best! We were there for my husband's birthday. We love the food and the place.
Excellent, excellent, excellent as usual, in its entirety
Great biscuits w syrup butter, awesome steaks, and a fantastic time whether you’re at the bar or the dining room.
As usual the food was delicious and the service immaculate. Celebrating the children's good grades for the first quarter
We four thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday evening birthday dinner. The food was excellent and we appreciated the half-priced bottles of wine (Sundays only). However, what made this a truly wonderful experience was our waiter, Martin, who was attentive and considerate and funny. We will definitely return.
