Devon Seafood + Steak - Milwaukee Ratings and Reviews
I love this restaurant! 4th time going and the food is always good and the service is excellent. Even though most of the menu is a little pricey, (one down fall) even for lunch or appetizers, I would highly recommend this restaurant especially if you are looking for a place where the food is both eclectic and delicious. It is NOT just run of the mill OR THE SAME OLD THING and you will not be disappointed. For me, because it is pricey, I only go for special occasions but other people may find the prices just right. Either way, the food is great!
I did not have a good dinner at all all I love the Brunch and did call to talk to a manger and after talking to Becky I will return for a Brunch, if I do come for dinner again it will be a early dinner because 8:15 seem to busy for the staff to keep up with will see how my Brunch will go.
Had a great time for New Years Eve. The restaurant was busy, but our server was fantastic.
The food was wonderful . I had the lobster bisque, the 4iz steak with the crab cake and the chocolate cake. All of it was spectacular. Would highly recommend.
The valet was also awesome on such a cold night.
We had no issues with setting a reservation for New Years Eve 2017 and were even able to change the time late in the game. We arrived 20 min early and were seated immediately and were quickly tended to but never rushed. Our meals were delicious and our servers and support staff were kind and friendly. The only "delay" was with desert, it took approx. 20 min to be plated, but our server kept us up to date and offered coffee, which I gladly accepted! We enjoyed the entire evening and our conversations with the serving team.
We have been here in the past and enjoyed ourselves and this experience was no exception.
Thank you for a lovely night.
Though we had to wait an additional fifteen minutes for our reserved table, once we were seated the experience was great. Being Christmas Eve, people lingered longer than the restaurant expected. Food was amazing from the salads (Caesar and House), to the salmon, whitefish and scallops, ending with a shared crepe brûlée. Definitely would go back. Portions were sufficient for the price.
We waited forever for our food bout 45 min then when I got it I would of rather went somewhere else the price I paid for the meal was outstanding and the food wasn’t even that good I don’t mind paying for expensive dinner but come on at least taste good my steak had no flavor was so blah and fatty we won’t be comming back I would of rather went to wards house of prime downtown and pay what I paid at Devon atleast there food is good in my opinion this place was average and way over priced !!
Our Server was very slow, started out good, but did not come back and check on us nearly enough, seemed to disappear for long periods of time. Our food took a long time then when they did bring it they brought our appetizer with our salad. We waited a long time for her to come back when we were finished to get our bill. Had high expectations, left a little deflated.
I think our server's name was Megan? She did a fantastic job. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and had an answer for every question we had. She was working on Christmas Eve and seemed like she was happy to be there. I hope we get her again. The hostesses and the guy passing out biscuits were friendly too. The food was delicious without being overly heavy. The price wasn't insane either. We will definitely be back.
We always enjoy the Sunday Brunch at Devon's, so being Christmas Eve, it was quite special. For the first time my friend and I were seated near the fireplace which made the ambience on a cold winter day even better. We always appreciate the Omelet Station and the Chef graciously carving the Tri-Tip Beef Roast. I tried the special Steak Sauce created in house and it was amazing. It was warm and zesty which added a depth to the beef that wa quite satisfying. I got a chance to try the Chippino which is on the regular menu options that I have never tried before. It was delightful and I see my self ordering a full order the next time I visit.
I enjoyed having Christmas Eve brunch with my husband and my mother, but one thing absolutely ruined my experience of Devon’s even before it began. I made the reservation for 3 people under my name and said that I had a reservation for 3 people and gave my name to the 3 girls who were up front. I don’t know if they were deaf or stupid or both, but the one girl in charge of seating people did not even listen to me and assumed because I was of Asian descent that I belonged to the big party with other people of Asian descent. I highly doubt that I will be coming back to Devon’s despite the fact that the food was amazing and our waiter was amazing as well. Perhaps once Devon’s teaches their hosts/hostesses to clean out their ear wax or simply stop making racial assumptions, I might consider it.
I’ve tried steak at Chophouse, Carnevor, Mason St Grill, Rare, etc. and Devon’s bone-in ribeye is the one I crave when I need my protein. The side dishes and appetizers are always delicious. The ambience is great for date night. Michelle was a phenomenal server with a great sense of humor.
Outstanding meal, delicious and very filling. Did the Prix fixe meal of wedge salad, 4 oz filet and crispy fried shrimp with mashed potatoes and creamed corn, and creme brulee. Had to take 2/3 home - very large portions, and the food was rich and oh, so good. They start the meal with a biscuit with butter, also delicious. Already planning on coming back.
Great food and amazing ambiance! Sarah B. Was our server and she was less than pleasant. She never smiled or had a happy demeanor. It seemed as if she hated her job. She definitely didn’t care to make our visit enjoyable. I left her a a $43 tip to make it a full 20% because I’m that type of person, but if you told me that she would be our server again I would not come back!
As always, it's good food, a nice atmosphere, relaxing and close to my home. The only thing that I truly miss is the Tilapia which is no longer on the menu. I wish Devons would bring it back to the menu.
I did have the deep fried shrimp and must say it was the best, very tasty and large and succulent. I would highly recommend them.
