Devon Seafood + Steak - Milwaukee Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding meal, delicious and very filling. Did the Prix fixe meal of wedge salad, 4 oz filet and crispy fried shrimp with mashed potatoes and creamed corn, and creme brulee. Had to take 2/3 home - very large portions, and the food was rich and oh, so good. They start the meal with a biscuit with butter, also delicious. Already planning on coming back.
Great food and amazing ambiance! Sarah B. Was our server and she was less than pleasant. She never smiled or had a happy demeanor. It seemed as if she hated her job. She definitely didn’t care to make our visit enjoyable. I left her a a $43 tip to make it a full 20% because I’m that type of person, but if you told me that she would be our server again I would not come back!
As always, it's good food, a nice atmosphere, relaxing and close to my home. The only thing that I truly miss is the Tilapia which is no longer on the menu. I wish Devons would bring it back to the menu.
I did have the deep fried shrimp and must say it was the best, very tasty and large and succulent. I would highly recommend them.
We went to Devon’s to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Upon our arrival, there was a “Happy Anniversary” card on the table. The card was handwritten & thanked us for celebrating with them. The waitress also said Happy Anniversary to us. At the end of our meal, we were treated to dessert & 2 glasses of champagne. The food was delicious. The best part was the dinner roll & honey butter we got prior to our meals. The atmosphere was quiet & romantic. The waitstaff & hostess were very friendly. I cannot wait to return to Devon’s for future meals & celebrations.
Food was excellent, got my share of check boisterous, went to the brunch, thoroughly enjoyed the variety. Bloody Mary was OK. Enjoyed the eggs, sausage, salmon, chicken wings, Tuna, prime rib, and in late station. Oh you can't forget the Belgian waffles. Best money spent for a Sunday brunch.
We wanted to enjoy a stress-free Thanksgiving. We had reservations for 5:45 and had to wait 15minutes to be seated. We ordered right away when we sat down. Our salads took forever to come out, over 40 minutes. Then our entrees came out after we were waiting for 1hr and my steak was over cooked. They did bring a new steak and comped my meal. I expect to have service of a certain level from Devons and not sit waiting for so long to have it come out wrong. I just wanted to enjoy Thanksgiving with my husband but it was not an enjoyable experience.
Thanksgiving fare was offered but we chose from the menu (we did have the squash soup and the pumpkin pie to stay with tradition). The first cup of coffee had been on the burner too long, but was better later. Excellent service by Brandi who had been assigned to us; she was attentive and prompt without being pushy.
I went for Thanksgiving dinner. It was terrible! Not the quality that I'm familiar with at Devon's. The turkey meat was tough and only white meat was available. No dark meat. The dressing was tasteless and dry. Not much gravy. I got one slice of sweet potato. The whole meal was cold.
Brunch is great, with so many different options including tons of seafood...fresh oysters, peel and eat shrimp, tuna, and more. They also offer Prime Rib and an omelet station, along with fresh fruit, and traditional breakfast items. It is on the pricey side at $31, but if you love seafood, you can eat your fill.
I came here after quite a rough week to treat myself to a belated birthday dinner. My server was outstanding (I'm afraid I can't remember her name) but she was just the right amount of attentive and even had the bartender make me a chocolate martini even though it wasn't on the drink menu. I've been here several times before for both dinner and brunch and have never had an unpleasant experience. Love this place!
Great food on the new menu. Portions were too big. Please stay in business as we love coming here. The food was relish as was the special drink we had. Our waitress was adorable, friendly, great server. Loved the corner table so we 5 could talk. Noise level was good and the biscuits were fab now, better than before. We always come back and often do the oyster thing in the bar.
Food was awesome, service was awesome. The only thing that slightly disappointed me was that I made a reservation, later afternoon, so not busy at all, and said it was for my friends birthday, and nothing materialized at all. No cake, or ice cream or happy birthday, that would have made it perfect. So I wouldn't go back for a birthday celebration. But the food was good.
I chose Devons because they have excellent crab cakes. One of our friends is from Maryland and loves crab cakes. He was not disappointed. My other friend had the ahi tuna and said it was excellent. I had the seafood platter with salmon, shrimp, scallops and of course the crab cake. The scallops were small but tasted good. We will be back!
We we're scheduled for the Rep. and wanted good food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere.
The waiter was one of the best we have ever encountered. He was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. He made the experience fun and explained our dishes and options.
The walleye and the mixed seafood entree we're just enough food and very tasty. The highlight was the cup of lobster bisque we shared!. Our drinks were large and the biscuit was perfect.
We will be back. All in all a great experience, highlighted by the best waiter we had ever met.
The only regret was that we didn't have room for dessert.
