Devon Seafood + Steak - Miami Ratings and Reviews
Great restaurant, service was the tops. Server was very attentive, even though it was a buffet for brunch. The food was inventive and delicious. I was amazed at the variety. The portions were in line with a buffet, smaller, so you could try a variety and not feel guilty about leaving some on the plate. The downside for me was the noise level. It was very noisy.
You can't go wrong with Devon. Food is excellent and Services are phenomenal.
Never have been disappointed. Even for Thanksgiving was perfect for a seafood and steak restaurant. They have the best brunch for the price in town, from oysters to lobster mac and cheese and all the in between.
One of the worst experiences ever! I am sorry to say, even though I have dined here before in 3 other occasions. I decided to celebrate my wife's birthday here with some friends who had never eaten here before, I told them the food and service was good, well big mistake, first off when we arrived they tried to seat us in the outside even thought the temperature outside was about 65 degrees, i told them if i could get seated inside and one of the hostesses with an attitude claimed that I had requested outside seating in my reservations when i know i did not, then they took us to a small booth which for 6 people was going to be cramped and the hostess again with an attitude said that was all they had, I had to request for a manager , then the hostess came back and sat us in a bigger booth. When the time came to order we ordered the smoked salmon flatbread, and the calamari, the smoked salmon was very salty it was good however very salty for my preference the calamari was good however very little calamari and a lot of shoe string carrots, more carrots than calamari, after that we ordered the main course i ordered the 18 oz bone in ribeye and my wife ordered the swordfish, the swordfish has got to be the thinnest and smallest piece swordfish filet that i have ever seen and its surprising since the last time i ordered the swordfish here the portion was thick, this one was about an inch thick and tasted very fishy unlike any other swordfish i have tried, my steak, at least the sections of it that actually had meat tasted good, the rest of it I left it because it was all fat, and the waiter well he looked as if he was in a hurry to get rid of us, no comped dessert for my wife's birthday and no one to even say or sing happy birthday to her. An extremely bad experience all around never coming back here again. $191.00 bill or half of the check for bad service and bad food.
So I drove 9 1/2 hours from Atlanta, GA for the much missed Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes!
We only had one night in Miami and I knew right away that we were going to make a special stop at Devon Seafood for some amazing crab cakes. Devon did not disappoint! The crab cakes were amazing as I expected, both or our steaks were cooked to perfection, all sides seasoned and pipping hot. We topped the meal off with a classic creme brulee.
A huge thinks to Jean Bepti who was our server for his excellent service and menu knowledge. April the floor supervisor stopped by a few times to check in on our meal and if she could help us with anything.
In all it was a wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant, and well worth the stop.
Now who do I need to convince, we need a new location back in Atlanta?
I am never disappointed in Devon Seafood and Steak. The ambiance, food and best of all, the service are always excellent. The biscuits are, of course, an added attraction. Each entree comes with the choice of 2 delicious sides, and the food is of the highest quality which is important when a restaurant is offering "fresh seafood." The Happy Hour is another great deal with wonderful options at bargain prices, although a bit noisier. I would recommend Devon to anyone, and I am so glad to have this upscale restaurant in Kendall.
Seven of us for Sunday brunch @ $30pp. Even with a reservation, had to wait for the table to be ready. The buffet tables were empty. More than 75% of the buffet entrée serving trays were empty or almost empty. It took more than 10 minutes for the staff to replenish them, and they were replenished in trickling effect. So, one is left just standing there with no food on a plate and when asked if the trays were going to be replenished, the lady tending bar responds with a bad attitude: "it takes a while." It is Sunday brunch, shouldn't it be ready? The ladies standing around the hostess station had the same smug attitude, as if I had asked for something unreasonable. I asked for food to be brought to the serving trays, can't get any more basic than that at a buffet brunch. Our waiter, was very nice and truly understood that the situation was horrible. There was a party of 10 at the table next to us and their experience was the same. They were also voicing their unhappiness. Our waiter deducted 2 of the buffet charges from our bill. It took it as an apology and an attempt at "give us another chance." I wish I could remember his name, he is the only employee there that understands customer service. I haven't decided if I will give it another chance (since the restaurant "comped" 2 buffets as an apology), but if I do, it will be a while. By then, maybe the employees with the bad attitudes will no longer be working there. BTW, when so many customers complained about the situation, the reason given by the ladies with the attitudes was: we had a party of 75 so we are swamped. Aren't all your customers equally important? You need to understand your business, if you can't accommodate, regular customers AND a large party, then don't do it.
Great experience and our waitresses were very friendly. The food was excellent with the right amount. The staff was very accommodating to request. The beverage selection was great and with the help of our waitresses help find the right type of drink you would like.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Our waitress, Jennifer, was AMAZING! Took the time to explain the menu as it was our first time, she’s very knowledgeable and attentive.
The food was delicious filets were fresh and perfectly cooked, lobster tail was fresh and fluffy, the presentation was espectacular. The house made lemonade was delightful!
A must! And our new favorite!
Definitely will be back. Topped a lot of other “high end” restaurants by a LONG shot!
Love love looove DEVON!
Let me start by saying we love Devon from the beginning. With that said I feel the brunch has gone down a little in variety and availability when you ask for a time after 12:30pm. The last couple of times we feel the staff in not on top of what needs to be replenished and if you ask they really don’t have an answer. Today for example for Shrimp Ceviche since 1:00pm till 3pm. We asked twice and our server said they are prepping it. Oysters come out about a dozen at a time and we waited for about 20 mins and only got 3 to give other people around us waiting a chance to have some. We also requested a booth behind the bar and even thou today was not full at 1pm when we arrived we didn’t get the booth we wanted and the whole time we ate that booth stayed empty! Does that make sense?? We also didn’t see today our in our last visit any manager passing by the tables asking how was our meal or service or if we needed anything.
We went for New Year's Day Brunch. It was okay. There were no special holiday dishes, it was the same old stuff which wasn't bad, but I was expecting more for the holidays. There was no prime rib roast at the carving station or salmon as boasted by the waiter, whatever the cut was, it was tough and the Red fish was horrible. Chicken Picatta was dry and tasteless.
Raw bar was okay, the oyster were under par and scarce. Seared Tuna and smoked salmon average. As a seafood restaurant I expected better.
Highlights were the biscuit and sausage gravy, shrimp enchiladas and the waffles that you have to order from the waiter.
Probably not going back again.
I have frequented Devon Seafiid and Steak on multiple occasions and always satisfied. This evening the food was average at best. The service was also average. Perhaps the chaos of a New Years Eve dinner was too much for the kitchen and staff. My party left disappointed and unlikely to return.
Food was great. Service excellent. A bit noisy but, it was a very busy night. Parking is a challenge. They are in an area with at least 5 restaurants in the same location. They do offer free valet parking. I would recommend that you add that to your web site. Most people dont drive close to the building as the spaces are full. Over all, was a good night out with friends...
Delightful lunch menu with a number of reasonably priced options. As a table of 4 we tried at least 6 different items, and all were delicious and presented beautifully. It was a busy lunch period, yet the food was served rapidly, and the wait staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful.
We were sat at a table near the kitchen. The party of four next to us was very loud, to the point we had to shout our conversation. A large party came in a short time later into the private room . They were louder. Than the party of four and even the hostess complained to us about how loud they were. My snapper was over cooked but my wife’s swordfish was great! Was not pleased with the whole experience. The bright side was that our waiter was great!
