Devon Seafood + Steak - Hershey Ratings and Reviews
It was terrible. The waitress was standoffish and didn’t bring basic needs to the table. She also didn’t know what a bellini was. The food was awful - omelette was over cooked. Toast tasted char-broiled and totally overpowered the omelette. The pancakes looked like a child made them and were slathered in this fruit sauce that completely overwhelmed them. Only decent thing was the mimosas. I used to go to Devon brunch often but after this, I won’t be back. We’ve had bad experiences too often recently.
On top of our bad experience this time, they’ve removed their best things off the menu (the Belgian waffles were amazing) and they seem to be trying too hard to put a unique spin on brunch to the detriment of the experience. For instance, the pancakes were served without syrup and they don’t serve wheat or white toast.
My husband and I had a date night here and we were very pleased with the food and ambience. The Spicy Creole Gumbo was fabulous! I had the filet mignon and my husband had a seafood platter combination which and both of us thought it was one of the best meals we have had. Our waitress was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall wonderful first time experience!
Tried the Lobster Cobb salad & it was delicious with a generous portion of lobster.
My husband had the mixed grill seafood without the Cajun seasoning and we both liked the milder wood grilled flavor much better than the spicy seasoning normally used on the scallop & shrimp. If you like milder food ask them to hold the pepper since they tend to go heavy on pepper.
Our server Jake was very good.
Very disappointed in the Wagyu steak... we had to finest steak we’ve ever had on five continents previously but did not remember if it was the wagyu or the bone in ribeye. The wagyu was very tough with gristle throughout. Very disappointing. Dustin was a fantastic server. We would come back because of him . He is an asset to your restaurant .
There was a party in the large room that night. It was very loud. We could barely hear one another as we were talking at our table, which was right in front of the room doors.
I did not say anything at the time as I did not want to offend anyone in that room.
I called the next day and spoke to manager "Angela", only to make the suggestion that when there is a party/event in there, they close those doors out of respect to the other patrons. She did apologize, only after questioning me on what time we were there because she was also there and "no one else complained about the noise". I guess that means she thought my comment/suggestion was invalid.
In my mind, as a manager, I feel it's her job to recognize something like that and provide a solution before anyone HAS to complain. I can tell you the couple in front of us and the couple behind us both made comments on how loud it was, but like us, I'm sure they didn't want to complain or get up and move to another table.
The food was delicious, as usual.
The experience was a bad one.
The follow up even worse.
This is a favorite restaurant for excellent seafood and we have come several times for special "wine dinners", etc. Valentine's Day menu was replete with so many good choices it was hard to decide on a main course. So we ordered different main courses and shared with each other. Devon never disappoints, and that is why we keep returning. Service was great.
Great food, we arrived early and had hors d'oeuvres at the bar while waiting for the table. Bartenders were very attentive. The meal was excellent, I cannot think of any part of it that I would do differently or better. Our waiter, Dustin, was excellent. very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Devon Seafood & Steak turned out to be an amazing place for my significant other and I to have a nice Valentine's Day dinner. So happy with our service and our food/drinks! Money well spent. Also, it was nice to find that there is off-street parking available. Not from the area, but we will definitely be making the short trip out to Hershey again soon!
The service was outstanding. Our meals were very very good. Everything was very tasty and hot. The atmosphere was fantastic and our drinks were very good. I had the seared scallops and my husband had the combo broiled seafood. A gentleman kept us supplied with fresh hot biscuits before and during our meal. It was definitely a great experience!
I’ve eaten here in several occasions and this was by far the worst experience. It wasn’t awful, but it was just meh. We had a flatbread that I usually love, but it came out tough and cold. The fish was good, not great and overpriced. Service was ok, but not great. I will try again as this was an outlier, I believe.
We had a couple issues with the food. Salmon ordered med well was pretty rare. We had a great server and he took it back and got it fixed. My husband said some of the seafood in his cioppino was overdone but the flavor was good. But, again we had a great server.
