As always, a great meal. We had the Chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing. It was excellent! Our waitress, Sam, made it very special. She is the best and greatly contributes to a wonderful experience. Thanks!
The food was delicious. The duck breast was spectacular. An expensive eat, but worth it for a romantic special occasion
Delicious and beautifully-presented food. Great service. The two-top tables were a bit close together, but that wasn't a bother to us though the two couples around us seemed to want more privacy. I highly recommend this place for a special occasion.
One of the best meals I have had in Boston. Portion sizes were perfect. Each bite was an epicurean delight. From soup to salad to entree to desert,
each course was beautifully prepared and was a party in my mouth. We will return.
Suberb food and service! Only 2 tables for 2 available for us were next to large parties of 8-10. I wish the dining room offered more privacy. Next time I'll request a booth by the window when I make my reservation.
Our server was attentive but not too attentive and the food was fabulous.....highly recommend. The duck was terrific!
Interesting menu. good service. noise level allowed conversation.
Absolutely love Deuxave. Always on the list to visit when visiting Boston. Amazing food and service.
Was no warning for the fixed menu and it was not a cheap fixed menu.
The food was great but limited selection.
The food was skillfully plated and the preparation was excellent. We had the ribeye as well as the Halibut and all were done perfectly. The price increase for Mother's day brunch was pretty significant - $80/person. To bring your family equates to well over $600 for lunch for 6 , when you include a drink and tip. Not sure we will be back for brunch next year on Mother's Day at this luncheon price.
DeuxAve remains the fine restaurant I have know for many years. Staff, food, wines,
and yes, the music, all highlighted our lovely day.
We shall return.
Food was literally perfect. Flavors were complicated and developed well. Food took absolutely forever though, 45 minutes into the Prix Fixe brunch, we only had bread and mimosas. Brunch was almost three hours altogether.
I made a reservation for my mom and dad for mother's day and for my father's birthday and I'm all the way in Texas. so I wanted to make sure they had an amazing time. But deuxave did not achieve this at all. First off I made the reservation a week in advance and they were going to be seated practically on top of another group on how close the seats are. On top of that they waited an hour and a half for another table and when seated the food took another hour so they didn't get out till 11:30 almost midnight. Also the waitress that they had seemed to not care about the them at all and was short with them. And lastly they informed me that they would have a special birthday thing for my father but nothing was provided. Only thing was after two hours the steak and duck were the only thing enjoyable.
We decided to dine at Deuxave for our 20th Anniversary based off reviews. The restaurant is beautiful and we were able to sit outside which is what we requested. The food and service were excellent. My wife had the duck breast and said it was the best duck she had ever tasted. I had the NY Strip and it was cooked to perfection. The only negative comment is the affordability of the wine list. It had about 250 red bottles to choose from, but it was difficult to find many under $100.
Experienced the tasting menu. Excellent food and service. Not quite up to the sophistication and comprehensive excellence of the recently shuttered L'Espalier (and not as expensive) but a very worthy successor. A formidable wine list. A very nice, comfortable space to enjoy a terrific dining experience.
Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and awesomely executed meal. Only downer was waiting 30mins to be seated for a reserved table.
Deuxave is a great place to celebrate an event or for a special date night. The service at the bar and during dinner was great. My husband and I tried the chef's tasting menu and it was delicious. Great size portions with a lot of variety and fresh ingredients.
Onion soup and crispy skin chicken. Very classic luxurious preparations. Onion soup broth not as deep in flavor as one would have desired, but caramel used onion and bone marrow crouton plus cheese added mouth filling flavor. Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken with its greens and broth. Perfectly prepared. Everything good but straight down the line. No food for thought here.
Meal was good to very good but not outstanding. I had rare tuna, very good but could have been hat a lot of places for less money. Service was excellent, prices OK. Need to kick it up a notch.
Very pleasant experience. Cocktails are AMAZING. Very well crafted and delicious. Lots of choices. Food was overall good, although, my duck was over salted. Steak was cooked perfectly. Both dishes had sort of overwhelming herb-y flavors, not married well, and they especially competed on my duck dish. Plates are small, so appetizer was necessary. We had the duet, which was just fine. Loved the Waygu more than the tartare. Service is outstanding. Restaurant was fairly quiet for having every seat filled. Pretty restaurant, too. Would love to sit in the deepest corner of that bar all night.
If you love duck no one dies it better! From foie grad to confit to the roasted duck breastfeeding the are all fantastic!!
billed as a quiet restaurant, but is not when full.
could not complete our meal in 1 1/2 hours (even with advance notice)
Great food--but very disappointing evening for our celebration. The restaurant completely forgot our request for a special birthday dessert (requested both prior to arriving to restaurant and then when at restaurant). We ended up waiting more than 30 mins for it (after waiting a while for entree dishes to be cleared)--and only after prodding them. Food was delicious but what a bummer....A restaurant like this should not screw up this badly.
I am a big, big fan of Duexave. I live in the neighborhood and I’ve gone many times. The dinner I had there on Monday was a major disappointment , actually the first I had encountered. The price point has really gone up. I had filet of sole and it was beyond mediocre. My husband was very disappointed in the sauce for the duck breast. It was packed and so noisy. The wait staff were lovely but the service was slow due to how crowded the restaurant was. I am especially disappointed as this used to be my very favorite restaurant in Boston.
We had to wait for 20 minutes, although we had a reservation.
The best duck I ever had. The restaurant is beautiful. That night the restaurant was understaffed. Service was polite but very slow. We were a party of 2. We were seated in a corner with next to a party of 8. Very overwhelming.
We have dined at this restaurant a couple of times before and I’ve always liked it. This time was a bit disappointing. The Dover sole entrée was regular sole, not real Dover sole, which is pretty disappointing from a restaurant of this caliber.
Always an interesting and creative menu, and we like the quiet (relative to other fine restaurants) ambiance. We especially enjoyed Samantha's excellent and cheerful service.
This was a birthday dinner. Service was great - everyone was so attentive, food was amazing. We will be back again!
My new favorite spot. The food and service were amazing! We started with their 9 hour onion soup and the carpaccio/tartare--both were incredible. The Dover sole and halibut were cooked to perfection. Clearly a chef and culinary team that strives for perfection. Our server was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this and will be returning soon!
I took my son there as a splurge away from college. The food was amazing and our waiter was first class! I can’t wait to go back the next time I am back in Boston!
As always a great experience. Worthy of all the 5 stars.
It was Easter Sunday and when we chose Deuxave I was somewhat hesitant in that the menu was fixed. There were four first and four entree course options and, I think, two desserts. Nonetheless, I looked forward to a holiday meal at my local go-to when friends and family visit Boston. I need not have worried. The food was its usual excellence in portion and flavor. The service was the same friendly professional I’ve become used to at Deuxave. We had another superb experience (my eighth) and look forward to many more.
Lovely Easter dinner as always
Deuxave always does a wonderful job with their holiday menus (although their recent Valentine's Day dinner went beyond the pale, price-wise). Our table of three ordered three entirely different meals for each of the three courses and everyone was thrilled. Plating is beautiful. Service is wonderful - our server was even at the front door to bid us farewell and hold the door as we left.
Perfect food and excellent service
We have been do Deuxave several times. We have yet to have anything close to a bad, or even mediocre experience. Everything from the food, service and ambiance was excellent as always. Perfect restaurant for a special occasion or date night.
Outstanding experience. The food was delicious. Our part of 4 had the bolognese, duck and vegetarian dish. Everyone loved their entree. Our server, Adam, was also outstanding: attentive and helpful when asked for suggestions. The ambiance is perfect: cozy and quiet enough for good conversation.
Great food and wonderful staff
This is truly (unlike 99.9%of restaurants in Seaport) one of the best restaurants In Boston.
While it is a bit expensive, it is well worth the money.
We will definitely be back.
I came for a birthday dinner and Deuxave's service and quality of food may the night so special and memorable. The duck is truly a dream. The foie gras was divine. The bubble bath cocktail was also a true creative concoction.
