The lam and crispy duck were amazing. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
We enjoyed our evening at Deuxave! From the service to the excellent duck breast , everything was superb! A delay in our dessert order resulted in a complimentary glass of beautiful sparkling wine! A nice touch... thank you, Deuxave!
Superb evening. Not too noisy. Excellent food and service.
Superb service. Fine table. Outstanding meal. Warm and friendly atmosphere.
Great place for a fancy date if you don't go on many fancy dates!
Interrupted incessantly. I think servers were being polite but they would interrupt us regularly during a business dinner.
This place is amazing!!!
From the time they greet you at the door all the way to them getting your car is flawless!!!!
Went for our wedding anniversary. We were promptly seated at what seemed an especially nice table for 2 with large wingback chairs. Alas, these big comfy chairs aren’t so well suited to eating; we had to sit up on the edges to eat. Nothing came to the table for a bit, but then a friendly waiter greeted us with "welcome back." (Did someone really track that we had eaten there a few years ago?). We ordered drinks, and our meal. We were seated a full 45 minutes before our first course came. My wife loved her foie gras; my burrata was a somewhat odd presentation; it was submerged in "tomato water," something not mentioned on the menu, and making it something of a cold soup. I wouldn’t get it again. Main courses arrived promptly after that, but our waiter forgot that I had suggested we might like a glass of wine with dinner. Indeed, where was our waiter? I asked the server to bring back the wine list; the wines actually arrived when we were a third through our main courses. My wife’s salmon was terrific; it was very lightly cooked, and she couldn’t finish it, even with help from me. My rib-eye steak was cooked perfectly, and it was tasty, but didn’t look the least bit like a rib-eye. It looked like a large cube of sirloin, with little, if any, marbling. We got dessert menus, and then, we lost our waiter again. We had to grab the roving hostess to get him to return to the table. The Dark Chocolate Crèmeux was a memorable dessert. Great chocolate, and lots of different textures. As others have noted, this is not an inexpensive restaurant, and while it had several big pluses, the more-than-occasional lapses in service and presentation weren’t up to this high a price tag.
We had an amazing experience at Deuxave. The food quality, service, and decor are all notably excellent. Seated at an outdoor table, we enjoyed each and every course including a great cheese plate at the end. The sommelier helped us select a wine from the huge selection offered. This might be my favorite meal since moving to Boston two years ago. We will be back!
Birthday dinner for my wife.
One of the best restaurants in Boston and I've been to plenty
This was our third visit at this restaurant and it never failed to deliver an outstanding experience. The restaurant is clearly making an effort to maintain high standards on all fronts, food quality, service and ambiance. The restaurant was very busy on a weekday night. We enjoyed the experience and will return.
Always enjoy a meal with friends here. Good food, beautiful presentation and exceptional waitstaff
Food is always phenomenal — inspired and fresh. Service is friendly and sophisticated. Deuxave is absolutely one of our favorites. Sat outside on a lovely evening!
Very good food and drinks. Don't miss the duck confit, and ask the Sommelier for a wine pairing for whatever you order. Service is a bit slow, so allow extra time.
Was some inattentiveness but was recognized and comped the wine!!!
Deuxave provided quality food and great service! It's not as fine dining as you may think, given the way it looks from the outside. It's a great restaurant overall and I would suggest this place for celebrating any special occasion!
Nice contemporary and sleek design and atmosphere. Premium priced menu that fails to deliver. Food though was relatively bland and uneventful. Pate and foie gras as starters were quite good. The entrees were average and certainly not near the quality of the places that Deuxave sees their competition to be. In short, food was fine but you are much better off spending your time and money at one if the other high end French restaurants in town if you want to be satisfied.
Chose to have celebratory dinner - party of 7. Service was attentive, helpful, competent, courteous, accommodating. For the high end dinner, though all was very good to suberb. We had 3 of the duck entrees which I found perfectly prepared altho I though crispy skin was a little over salted. Couscous and roasted carrots on side all delish. Started with the summer salad which looked and tasted excellent. Fresh rolls were scrumptious. We did order a couple of desserts which were all good - Mango creme brulee especially. And then brought to table was a beautiful plate of meringues and truffles a la house. Overall, a very nice meal. Not inexpensive..Actually had trouble finding a bottle of wine priced on earth but did and totally enjoyed a french pinot noir.
Started off as a truly memorable experience. Then for whatever reason, our server failed to bring the third course. 60+ minutes later, we received apologies. “....The food is on the way...”
We had to put in a lot of effort to make the restaurant serve the "tasting menu" to 3 out of 6 people in our party. The had a lot of not very convincing excuses about the timing of the serving etc, which we stressed did NOT matter to us at all. Eventually they did accomodate us. But the hassle was totally unnecessary.
The combination of potato Gnocchi with main lobster, mushrooms, green grapes, curried walnuts and pearl onions in a citrus fricassee was as excellent as the duck liver; the prime ribeye with charred asparagus, bacon jam and wild mushroom ragout in a delicious jus was tasty, but looked like a filet. Relatively reasonable priced wine list. Attentive waiter and pleasant ambiente. Definitively a recommendation!
It was wonderful food, as usual, but the AC was far too cold, and it took three asks to get it turned down. It was fairly noisy.
My favorite Boston restaurant. Delicious food, great wine, friendly staff. Pretty quiet - great bar, fireplace not too big. Food really special, but still familiar. Great location from the west.Menu is a treat and desserts just as special.
Be warned. You should only visit Deuxave if you are prepared for out of this world food, wine, and service. My favorite restaurant in Boston!
Although we had reservations we sat at the bar. We could not have gotten better or more friendly service from Andrew, the bartender. His recommendations were spot on. All three of us started with the salad which was exceptional , nice greens and perfectly dressed. We all continued with the duck which could. To have been better...Excellent service, good drinks, good wine and food that was perfectly prepared. Who could ask for more.
The food is excellent. Their hand churned butter was delicious on the warm bread. The crispy duck leg for an appetizer was delicious. Little bit pricey. But worth the treat
great food with outstanding service. we were made to feel very special.
Our meals were excellent. The Lamb Loin was delicious as was the Duck Pate appetizer. Service was spot on. The only negative is that the tables are a bit crowded. Noise level was quite acceptable.
food is amazing and the service is excellent. The only exception is someone at the door. We arrived 5 mins earlier before the restaurant opened, and we were looking inside from the window to see if we can enter (it was only 57 degree outside and windy). A guy saw us and came from inside with a cold face, and locked the door from inside without asking any word! Luckily another lady opened the door for us, and after realizing we had reservation there, the guy started smiling....
Outstanding in every way
As always consistently delicious food with wonderful service.
Try the halibut
Top-notch. Elegant. Quiet. Fabulous and unusual cuisine. Excellent service. Pricey, but so worth it. One of the best restaurants in Boston, hands down.
Always amazing and this visit was no exception! Just the right level of service, incredible cuisine and exceptional wine list. What a wonderful asset for the neighborhood and beyond!
I did the tasting menu. could not have been happier with my choice.
While eating this meal I was trying to figure out if it was the best tasting and most masterfully prepared meal I have ever eaten at a public restaurant, anywhere. This food is amazing. the staff exceeds all exceptions. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Romantic restaurant with amazing food! We dined here for our first anniversary and the food and atmosphere made for a wonderful evening.
Recommended with reservations over noise, precarious service and price.
The food was lovely but the wait for the food and drink was too long we where sitting a hour and only just got out appetizers and felt just as long between getting drinks. If it wasn't as slow we would of stayed for dessert.
