Very nice quaint restaurant. Would go back. Nice people, good food, good wine.
I always enjoy dining at Deux Amis
The restaurant is extremely rundown, gloomy, being in desperate need of update!
Also, the ridiculous small size of the tables, do not allow the guests to have a pleasant meal.
Always enjoy eating at Deux Amis. The food is consistently good. Service is excellent, and the atmosphere is civilized, you can have a conversation with your dinner partner.
Nice neighborhood-y French bistro style, everything was fine but nothing really exceptional. I'd call it a good value because the pricing is, by NY standards, quite reasonable.
Hosted a dinner for eight. Could not have gone better. Very attentive service and excellent food.
I enjoy Deux Amis every time I dine there.
The food was inconsistent. Some items were good, some not great. Wine by the glass was sub-par. It is a nice atmosphere and we will try again and order different items.
Food was excellent!
Our group was very pleased with the quality of the food. I had brought someone from Canada and Arcadia, Nova Scotia. They were very happy with the classic French menu items and told me that it was a great pick for Brunch. I had the Apple, Walnut Roquefort Salad. I wouldn't order this again. It was mostly Endive and wasn't balanced so that the biting tang of the endive overpowered the salad.
Whether for every day dining or a special occasion, Bucky and the crew at Deux Amis comes through. Friendly attentive service. Great food. Bistro ambience. This is our local and we have never been disappointed. Go for the mussels or the couscous. The duck confit is terrific. The daily specials are always good. And if you are in the mood, the Bucky’s Burger is wonderful! Do not walk past. We recently held our small “rehearsal” dinner in outside dining and Bucky and the team came through. Small and intimate. Cannot say enough good things about this friendly local restaurant.
I’ve been to this restaurant dozens of time and I’m never disappointed. On this occasion I took two friends who had never been there before and both loved the place, food, service and atmosphere.
Deux Amis is one of the best restaurants in Mid Town NYC. We have never had a bad meal of service. All is simply a great place.
This was our first brunch here and we all really enjoyed what we had to eat. The service was very good, friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!
Lovely spot for a quiet brunch, lunch or a fun dinner.
You are not rushed and it is a very pleasant experience with good food and an intimate atmosphere.
I really like this small restaurant on the east side of mid town Manhattan. Good food. A nice neighborhood restaurant, with the vibe of good friends getting together for a nice evening together. I tried their house Pinot Noir this time. Not a great wine, but I did not expect that from a house wine, but it was good value and easy to drink. The Coq au Vin is always excellent.
The food is great. The room is a not too big not too loud and very comfortable. Very traditional French food at normal New York prices. I loved that they didn’t rush us at all, I was visiting with friends I hadn’t seen in a while and we really got a chance to talk and spend time. I did not like that when we were ready to go nobody would bring us the check, we waited way too long even after finally getting to ask for the check. It might be attributable to our server being the bartender (Who was chatting with folks at the bar) based on where we were sitting but after a lovely meal it was an annoyance at the end which seemed really unnecessary. If you’re happy to let people hang around after eating put the check on the table and say, “no rush, whenever you’re ready”.
Excellent service from two over worked staffers. They could not be better employees!
My husband and I come often. Approximately 2-3 times a month. Food is great, prices are reasonable for Manhattan, and service is always excellent. I will say that this past time an incredibly loud group was seated next to us and nothing was said to them about their volume. Usually the experience is very relaxing. Completely recommend without any hesitation.
We come here very often and the food is very good at a reasonable price.
Service is always very good.
New Year’s Evening dinner at Deux Amis was excellent. It was not the usual a la carte menu, but a carefully selected prix fixe that was reasonably p;riced. The execution was very good. Our group had a wonderful time: the company of course was great, but so was the service, the ambiance, and the food. I’d gladly do it again next year!
Lamb a bit tough, had Christmas Eve price fix meal, usually food excellent. Still will go back, love the restaurant overall! Great ambiance!
Lovely setting, good service, a real Parisian ethos, very cozy, very Fraaanch!
The food was so-so, the duck confit a bit dry, the esgargots flavorful, and served correctly, but a little less rich than I'm used to. I got a feeling the chef skimped on the butter and parsley. Nice but not A level. Toast should have been served with the snails. The wine list is delightful, short but excellent wines, priced decently. I had a delicious Faiveley Pinot, which is will buy a 1/2 case of now that I've tried it. Merci bien, mes deux amis.
In all, a very pleasant experience, so my rating would be B+.
I certainly will recommend the restaurant to my fiends and family.
It always exceeds our expectations! Delicious food and warm, friendly atmosphere. Brought our friends for the first time and they fell in love with our neighborhood place.
One of the absolute cutest, coziest, legit French bistros in all of Manhattan. We adore this place and keep going back. The food is delicious and comforting. The vibe is always festive (a must-visit during Christmas). The staff is always warm and welcoming. 10/10 "hidden" NY gem.
We are not local and eat here every time we are in the city. The food is always excellent and the specials can be quite good. Service is generally friendly and efficient. I would have given it five stars across-the-board except it seems they have cut back on their server status a little. The server and assistant seemed a little harried and rushed. I don’t think it was my imagination as there were a few empty tables and some turnover while we were there. Otherwise, this is an excellent choice for French cuisine.
This restaurant was a gem. We booked it by accident thinking we were booking a different restaurant - what a wonderful mistake! This was such an authentic French bistro, the service was wonderful and the food absolutely outstanding. There were so many fantastic looking dishes, it was nearly impossible to choose what to order, so I will just have to go back many times!
The menu offers something for everyone. The food preparation was excellent. The food was tasty and nicely presented.
The food and service at Deux Amis is always wonderful. However, the space between many of their tables is quite limited so if you happen to be dining with people with mobility issues, it is best to reserve an earlier dining time so you have more seating flexibility.
Our favorite to go place for a great meal, ambiance and great service!
Lovely local french bistro. Always a delightful dining experience
Super nice neighborhood restaurant. I love it for great food in a friendly environment.
Lovely ambiance reminiscent of a Parisian bistro. Good kitchen -- well-prepared and well presented entrees. Excellent service. Highly recommend it.
This is the fourth time I've dined in the last two months...and for some reason the duck was dry all four times. They must have changed chefs.
Lovely food served by friendly attentive staff
Food very good
Salmon and risotto well prepared
Service a little harried but friendly and gracious
Would definitely return
A very nice bistro
Also has a great brunch
If Deux Amis was in our neighborhood we’d be regulars. It looks and feels like the mythical Paris bistro we always search for when we’re there.... but the confit is crisper and the onion tart is light but intensely flavorful. It’s an amazing midtown find!
Our usual go to French in neighborhood
But this time no go.
Why when a restaurant is almost empty is service nonexistent and food late, cold and way below average. Not comprehensible. Sincerely hope aberration.
We would probably not go back unless in the neighborhood. Food just not up to par; reheated potato, raw steak with skimpy peppercorn sauce, too many items served with salad greens instead of vegetables and tiny amount of liver pate appetizer. So disappointed!
