We dined at Detroit Seafood Market despite the mixed reviews. Unfortunately the negative comments were correct. The service was downright slow to non existent! The waitress, who I will not name, was friendly and affable, but clueless as to how to be a good server. We were a little early for our reservation and the dining room was fairly empty. Because of the happy hour, the bar seats were mostly taken and there were a few people seated at the tables out front. We sat down and our server said hello and introduced herself after about 10 minutes and said she would be right back. Well, that didn't happen~ we finally ordered and had our drinks at least 30 minutes after that point and the martinis were cool to the touch, but not cold. She said she would bring a freshly baked bread basket which arrived about 15 minutes after that. We ordered our appetizers and dinner. After a good wait, our appetizer and salads arrived at the same time! Our dinner arrived after a period of time and the fish was hot and decent, the side of rice was room temperature. Prior to all of that, we wanted to order a bottle of wine~ after a long wait the list arrived, we ordered a bottle after waiting for her to come back, and since we were done with our meal and the bottle hadn't arrived, we said we didn't want it. I got up and looked for her to get our bill. I couldn't find her so I asked the host, who was talking to someone at a back table~ come on! He should have been monitoring the guests in the dining room! I also got up and asked for boxes. I wanted to like this place. But, I would not recommend it at all because of the poor service and the seemingly lack of interest in making sure diners at least got their food in a timely fashion. I am sure they won't be in business for long if this continues.

I enjoyed the food, however, our server never came back to our table to ask if we needed anything; such as water, or additional sauce for the dishes we ordered. Also, when I made the reservation, I noted the occasion was for my girlfriend's birthday, nothing was done. I was disappointed with the service provided; the food was great!!

This was a terrible experience. I had purchased a Groupon for one appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts. When we were sat at the restaurant the wait staff presented us with a special Groupon menu which had two appetizers, four entrees, and two desserts to choose from. All of the choices were the least appealing items from the regular menu. My girlfriend and I elected to use the cash value of the Groupon towards regular menu items. Our server did not say one word to us the entire time, but rather a series of grunt and groaning noises instead. The worst service we have ever had at any restaurant regardless of caliber. When we received the bill, our Groupon value had not been applied to the bill. The waiter had set the bill down and immediately walked away. We never saw him again. Terrible experience that we paid top dollar for.

I did not like that we had to sit at the bar to get happy hour prices. We even tried to speak with the manage and he was not trying to work out anything with us. The bartender Krystal was great!
