Overpriced. Fun atmosphere for kids. The gondola ride up at sunset was beautiful as were the stars on a clear night on the way down the mountain.
Food is good. Ambiance and wine list leave you wondering.
It’s in the ski lodge that transforms into a fondue restaurant, so don’t expect a romantic table for 2. It is picnic table family setting. And the dirty dishes of a party of 8 may sit next to you for the entire dinner.
The wine list starts at $18 a glass and the waitress wasn’t much help. “What grapes is in the house blend?” was answered with “Blackberry, some blueberry...”
The food was good. Wish we had just skipped the chicken and stayed with steak. Dark chocolate dessert was delish. Most of the baked items to dip were stale but the fruit was great.
You pay a premium for the gondola ride and setting, which we left feeling satisfied with the experience.
We were excited about the location. It was not clear that dining would be at long tables and sitting family style with other people. A lot of food for 3 people. Unfortunately our dining experience was ruined by the family next to us. The adult woman was extremely loud, drunk and throwing expletives and vulgar language the entire time we were there. We just wanted to leave. It was very disappointing especially for the price we paid.
Great family experience with gondola rides, live music, friendly staff, great food and a casual setting with room to move for kids or adults.
Realllly disappointed! Our family skies at Keystone all of the time and hadn’t been to the Fondue Chessel in about 3 years and had a group of 20 family members so we thought we’d give it a try. Quality and quantity of food has declined, and prices have increased...a lot! Course 1....small amount of the cheese fondue, course 2...lots of potatoes and filler food, smaller amounts of meat, course 3...my personal favorite, chocolate fondue, was the best part of the meal. Wait staff was good except for one who continued to be put off when asked to help. Band was entertaining as it always is. All and all, won’t go back.
Great special dinner during our Keystone vacation. A lot of food and good vegitarian option. We loved singing along with the German band. The gondola ride on a full moon snowy night was a memory our family will always share.
Really enjoyed our meal. The meat and chicken was very tender. Chocolate fondue is awesome.
To our surprise, there were very good options for a vegetarian—even a gluten free vegetarian. It’s a very good option for families.
listing is incorrect on open table
telephone is not working or nobody picks up the line
this restaurant map listing a mistake maybe open only during certain times of the year?
Very expensive and the meat that we ordered was not all that good, way too much chicken but not enough beef. Hibachi's were very unstable. did not feel comfortable letting kids use them.
The whole experience of taking the gondola up to the restaurant is great, especially for those who are not skiing. Our reservation was at 5:30 pm and the views were stunning.
Staff is friendly and attentive.
Plenty of food with the 4-course menu: Gouda cheese fondue and the chicken were delicious. It is not a bit expensive, it is VERY expensive. I feel that $69 per person before drinks is a lot and not everybody in the group wants the 4-courses.
I understand that making the restaurant work is expensive, but there could be other options such as pay for different types of menus in advance.
-Not great for large groups, especially with children. Too much food centered around a small part of the table.
-Vents were blowing cold by the table the entire time
-Meat was thinly sliced and totally unsuitable for fondue.
-beautiful setting on top of Keystone. Gondola ride, placement...all fantastic.
-Service was great. From the gondola operators offering blankets to the servers.
-the theme was good, with great dress and music
Everything was fabulous except we had to wait a long time to get our check and pay
Great overall experience. There was a problem with one of the servers. The manager addressed immediately.
Wish we could’ve ordered the cheese and dessert (chocolate fondue) only because we did not like the meats at all. Either not good flavor or over seasoned. We ordered the wague beef which was extra and it was so over seasoned that it was ruined. The regular chicken and beef were mediocre at best.
We would’ve been satisfied with just the cheeSe and chocolate fondues.
Otherwise we had fun!
Great food... had 11 kids sitting directly behind us, parents at the next table over pretty unconcerned they kinda ruined our experience.. 1 right behind me kept burping aloud.. 8 boys 3 girls acting like they were at a trampoline park rather than a restaurant. Parents drinking and having a good ole time.
Open Table gave us the completely wrong directions - led us to the stables at the other end of Keystone. It was fun to take the gondola to dinner.
Cheese and dessert were great. Meat was terrible and took way longer to cook than initially stated by the waiter. It wasn’t terribly busy yet we struggled with getting service. Looked like the waiters were ran thin. For the price we would never go again.
We love making a reservation every time we come to Keystone. They changed a few items on what they offer for the standard part of the multi course dinner which was not as good as before. But the staff was responsive and helpful for service and we still had a great time. The band this year was not as good as times past but they were still entertaining
Fun for our family, but much more expensive than anticipated. Great food, great atmosphere though! It was nice to slow down and enjoy a dinner together!
The food is average; you cook the meat/chicken yourself. Service was not good; we had to ask for everything. Best part was the chocolate fondue. The location/view is nice. It's super expensive! Something I would do one time but never again.
Vacation treat. It was a fun experience. Everyone was friendly, great atmosphere. We had a late reservation so I think our server was busy wrapping things up for the night. We had a fun night.
Used to be a fun place to go in Keystone. Not anymore. The service was terrible- slow and indifferent. They’ve changed the menu and not for the better. The huge room was nearly empty which added to the overall depressing atmosphere.
What a loss. Our family looked forward to this place whenever we were in keystone. But not again.
Great experience. Expensive, but unique and fun experience!
We enjoyed the gondola ride up. It was a very unusual way to arrive at a restaurant. The food was good. We enjoyed the variety. We took home enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The entertainers played polka's we requested from our childhood days. Loved them. The ride down was cold but it was beautiful seeing the lights from the night skiing. We would recommend this as an unusual date night for anyone........
This is very over priced for what it is. Also, taking the second gondola ride was confusing.
The salmon was not worth the price. Very small and thin.
A "must do". The food was plentiful and fabulous! What's not to love about cheese fondue (we did the gouda combo) and home made bread? Next came salad and then we did the chicken and beef combo. To top it off we sampled the s'mores milk chocolate. Despite being so full, the food was so scrumptious, we just had to eat a little bit more. Regretfully (because we couldn't put any more in our stomaches) and happily we took some home for leftovers. Loved the live music and the service was top notch.
Truly an experience in dining! Cheese fondue to start & then a "cook your own" meat at your table. Wait staff are dressed in costume & there are strolling musicians through-out the large lodge with a roaring fireplace. We enjoyed the beautiful trip up the gondola to the top of the mountain where the restaurant is located.
Had a blast and was a unique experience. A little pricey but I understandable so considering you are having Fondue on top of a mountain. The whole experience was wonderful!
Our collection of friends from various parts of the world gathered to celebrate the birthday of a very special friend. The gondola rides were fun in the evening. The atmosphere, music and general ambience were lovely. Food was expensive and ordinary. Staff was friendly but the service was less than impressive.
There we definitely high points. The venue is very nice considering it is a cafeteria by day. And the quality of the food was very high. But the value for a family of five was just not there. Despite ordering the vegetarian version- which was essentially crudités- they charged $69 per person, even for a 12 year old (which they later reduced to a kid’s price at our request). The cheese fondue portion was tasty but small for 5 and they did not bring the sauces for the main course. We got plenty to eat and the chocolate fondue was fantastic. The family also enjoyed the experience, including the gondola ride, but I felt the meal was overpriced.
Usually visit once a year for family, friends, or special occasions... authentic Swiss dining experience in a high alpine setting. Book an early reservation so you can see the mountains on the gondola ride up, take pictures of the sunset from atop the mountain. Book early in your stay in case they need to reschedule your reservation another night due to high winds and the gondolas close.
Gondola freezing, quality of food very poor, restaurant very expensive considering what we got for our money
EXTREMELY Expensive for very little portions. We used to go here years ago when they would give you options of meats, and large portions of veges, bread and fruit. There was two strawberries cut into 4 pieces to share amoung 4 people! The food was just decent, of course the views on the gondola are amazing, but we live here and see these amazing views everyday! We spent over $714 for 6 people, and only 2 had drinks. The lunch food at Abasin beats this anyday!!
The gondola rides, view, and venue were truly amazing. Service was good throughout the ride up and during dinner with helpful lift operators, even a much needed blanket. My only issue was with the very heavy use of rosemary across most of the main course items, from the potatoes and sausage on the side - to the beaf and chicken that you grill at the table. Several in our dining party (all adults) found the rosemary to be overwhelming. Everything else was delicious!
Fantastic quality food and the gondola ride to get to the restaurant is spectacular! Service was average/ good, and ambiance for a large crowd good. For romantic or more intimate group, ambiance could be a little better.
Live music, fun meal. Quite pricey but that’s what you get for being at he top of the mountain. Great for a celebration
I took my son for a fun experience per recommendation. The concept was neat but the food was mediocre and wasnt worth thr amount spent. We could've enjoyed a very nice steak dinner for this price. Service was slow and we waited 10-15min per course. The whole experience took over 3 hours for 2 people and we brought half home. Meat was flavorful but tough.
