Located atop the historic Meier & Frank building, Departure Restaurant + Lounge offers modern Asian cuisine with panoramic city views and global cocktails. Executive Chef Gregory Gourdet creates dishes using traditional ingredients and cooking techniques from throughout Asia. Of course, Oregon's seasonal bounty plays an integral part in the dining experience, as well. The space designed by Jeff Kovel of Skylab Architecture offers diners two rooftop decks with views overlooking downtown Portland, the Willamette River and Mt. St. Helens.
The West Deck lounge is open, weather permitting throughout the season on a first come, first serve basis.

Genevieve was an incredible waiter that remained pleasant and excited the entire night. She had wonderful suggestions on food portions and cocktails.

This was simply the best dining experience I can remember. Unique modern atmosphere, every dish was amazing and uniquely different than the last. Our server was graceful and charming. This will blow your tastebuds out of the water. The Roasted Carrot Salad was our favorite dish. The Butternut Squash Soup teases your pallet, the Coconut Soup Dessert was beyond anything we have ever experienced. If you are going to blow $50 per person on a meal, it should be this good. Two dishes per person fills you up. Don’t forget dessert.

We went to Departure the weekend after Valentine's Day and it was fantastic. Our waitress was lovely - so helpful, attentive and funny. She made sure that we were taken care of. The food was so amazing. We had the butternut squash soup which was one of the best soups I've ever had in my life. We also had a sushi roll and crispy pork belly dishes and they were good although we would probably not order them again. We had the bibimbap dish and that was heavenly. My mom used to make this dish for me and it brought back so many wonderful memories. The dish was authentic but was updated to make it even more delicious. We are definitely going back as there were so many things on the menu we still wanted to try. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Took my girlfriend here for a late V day dinner. Was an amazing experience, the food was delicious and the view from 50+ floors up was awesome. Definitely on the more spendy side but you get your money's worth with the entire experience. If you really want to impress your woman this is the place to take her.

Vegan sushi was somewhat plain but not bad. Udon noodles were excellent, on the saltier side. Szechuan tofu was nearly inedibly salty, price was fair and definitely worth it for the ambiance and view

Excellent food and some of the best service I’ve received in the Portland area. The waiter did a great job of recommending the house specialties.
