About Demetri's Woodstone Taverna
The new concept is more versatile as it intertwines a generous tapas menu, enticing happy hour, and edgy late-night lounge. In late 2010, they moved forward and opened up Tablas WoodStone Taverna at the other end of the Mill Creek Town Center and Demetris WoodStone Taverna on the Edmonds waterfront. These two unique restaurants are warm, edgy, and great late-night additions to their surrounding communities. As Clara developed an extensive tapas menu Sofeeas son, Demetri, orchestrated the remodels and late-night identities. With Sofeeas final touches, she opened the doors to her fourth and fifth locations. The Taverna concept is still a family restaurant at heart, but adds a great late-night dimension as well. If the past is any indication of the future, Sofeea will be looking for yet another location in the near future.

Demetri's Woodstone Taverna Ratings and Reviews
I have to say for Father's Day next year I am not going to be returning with my family.
People in my party had items that didn't have what they order in them such as crab omelet with very small bits of crab not worth the price. I will say they did take that item off of our bill after complains. I also had a meal that was lacking I would say the food is not worth going back to in the future.
Demetri's is one of my go to Happy Hour restaurants. My husband I enjoy coming her a couple times a month. Every dish I have ordered has been amazing. They also offer a gluten free menu which is what I order from. Their gluten free flatbread are delicious! I also love the salads and their salmon. My husbands favorite is the firecracker shrimp. Overall the service is usually very good here. There is limited patio seating which has the waterfront view, it is first come first served seating outside. The bar can get a little loud and crowded, so I do not recommend here if you are looking for a quiet place to eat, especially on the weekends.
We didn't get the Mother's Day Brunch menu. Only noticed the table next to us had one after we had ordered. They didn't cook one of the entres for my Mother. They got the order out pretty quickly when they recognized the error, no comp. Not a great showing and won't be back for any special occasion.
This place will not disappoint! I've been here for breakfast/brunch a few times and took a date there for dinner recently. You can't beat the atmosphere here and the great thing is it's a short walk from the waterfront or from Edmonds Center for the Arts. I'd highly recommend this place!
There were eight of us at dinner, so we got an opportunity to taste a wide range of foods, all of which were great. I definitely would recommend the restaurant for its food. We were less thrilled by the service. One person ordered a glass of wine when we first arrived. The server immediately left to get it without asking anyone else what they wanted. Then it took us a while to get anyone to pay attention to the fact that everyone wanted something to drink. I realize we were a large group, but the food came at far different times, with some of us having to wait quite a while to get anything. The noise level in the restaurant became somewhat overwhelming at times. I would suggest that patrons go in smaller groups to enhance their ability to talk with one another.
I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. It began with my party not being able to sit in a booth. I was told it was "reserved." Since I had a reservation with open table and I had arrived 15 minutes early to avoid this, I was immediately frustrated. The party that eventually sat there was a party of 2 while my party was 3. This situation was handled very poorly with the hostess in charge sending over a young girl and it was her first day. The food was average to good,
Noise intolerable. Service fine.
Experienced hostess did not say anything when we left.
I have never written a poor review before as I hate to do that to any restaurant... but tonight was an exception due to how bad it was!!!
Service was all around horrific. Our waitress was sweet enough but very obviously spread too thin.
Ordered French onion soup that came cold with LITTERALLY a slice of cold cheese laying on top! When we sent t back they actually microwaved it and brought it back!!!
We had to ask for silverware 3 time.
Starters and entrees came all out at the same time.
My father ordered fried oysters and the oysters were warm and fine but the mash potatoes were actually cold! How is that even possible?
Had to ask for wine list 2 times.
Child's meal came wrong as well.
It was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I have ever experienced!!
We really enjoyed the tapas. Our favorites were the really amazing brava sauce with the mussels, and the fig/Kalamata crostini. Would definitely recommend the place to anyone who likes Mediterranean food. A nice view of the water, but the one downside to the location is it is right next to railroad tracks and we had some trains come through during dinner. But that is worth dealing with when considering everything else.
Met an old friend here for dinner on a Sunday night. The staff was attentive, but unobtrusive and overall the service was great. We ordered a ton of food and everything was amazing. I especially recommend the Beef Medallions and the Spicy Garlic Prawns. The best part was that we were able to sit for almost three hours to talk and catch up, without ever feeling rushed or put upon for staying so long. They have other restaurants as well that I can highly recommend.
Server was adept and polite, however it was a very drafty table near the door and we were freezing. We asked to please move to another table of which there were several available and were told we could not because they were reserved. We also had made a reservation. We were too cold to enjoy our dining experience and did not linger for a second drink or dessert as a result! My guests filet was cooked to her desire however I asked for my lamb chops rare and they arrived well done. I didn't send back the order because we were too cold to wait! I ate 2 of the 5 or 6 thin chops because I was starving and saved the remainder for the dog. I was charged $2 to substitute more vegetables for the couscous because I don't eat grains and I thought that was excessive. This was my 5th dining experience here and was the worst by far. I will give them another chance but I will request a table in the bar or close to it, away from the Door and away from the noisy family diners--we were surrounded by families with children and could barely carry on a conversation.
I thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Demetri's Woodstone Taverna. Walking into the place you get a sense of an established well loved, neighborhood eating and drinking spot. But, the two things that set Demetri's apart are the location and the food. The place is right on the waterfront. There is nothing between you and Puget sound. This makes for some awesome views of the Olympics. Occasionally, you get a really up close view of a passing freight train. We were there for lunch and partook of the tapas plates. Two items not to be missed are the bacon wrapped shrimp and anything with Demetri's outstanding hummus. The service was also excellent. Our server, Heidi, was attentive and pleasant. I'm going back.....
I brought my entire family to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. It was the second time I've visited the restaurant . I ordered the fish tacos and was disappointed in the portion size for the price. My brother-in-law ordered flatbread and he was also a little confused by the conservative portion. It was my husband's first visit to this restaurant and he does not care to come back again. My first visit with my mom last year for brunch was excellent but this time it just felt like a totally different restaurant. Then I was offered a free dessert for my birthday but then was charged for it on our bill? So odd.
We were there on Sunday afternoon, fairly early. Although wasn't busy yet it got busy while we're there. The service was excellent the food was great especially the brussels sprouts and cauliflower.
Enjoy watching the trains go by and seeing the ferry dock in the park. I would recommend this place to anyone.
A group of women who meet bimonthly enjoyed a table for 8 soon after opening. We had excellent service and a leisurely visit. We were given separate checks without asking and not hurried as we chatted long after finishing eating. We left just as the crowd began coming to watch the game and it became too loud to hear each other. We definitely will return.
We enjoyed our meal at Demetri's. We chose the place because it accommodated all of our eating needs/wants, including vegetarian. The food was delicious! While the restaurant is on the waterfront, we did not have a good view in the December darkness. We were seated in a booth by a window - and it was cold! I kept my coat on the whole time. There were TV's on all around the restaurant, which I hadn't expected. We'd go back, because the value was high and it was friendly to our needs.
I have been here a more than 7 times over the years, and it changes from time to time, the food was better this time than in recent visits but they were understaffed and we had to ask the bus boy to locate our server after sitting there for about 12 minutes, she was very pleasant but harried. It's a local place with ups and downs but enjoyable.
