Delta King - Pilothouse Restaurant
Service was great . Received food very quickly. Will definitely come back again.
Tried somewhere new with my boo and we had an awesome time at Pilothouse!
Overall I was very happy. I've dined upstairs in the cafe but never in the Pilothouse. My one major disappointment came when I learned that their beef is from Harris Ranch. I was hoping for more local, grass-fed and antibiotic free sources (such as Niman Ranch in Sonoma County). We had seafood instead, and it was delicious.
I booked dinner and a room at the Delta King based on the menu that was provided on the web site and on open table, my wife loves Mushroom risotto! After being sat down and scanning the one page menu it was nothing like the one I had viewed prior! Such a disappointing menu!!!!!!
I had lunch at the Delta King for the first time celebrating a friend’s birthday. We enjoyed the food, and the service was very good,
Great expect for a table next to us where I woman was super loud sharing stories like if we were in her living room.
Even though we had a reservation, nobody greeted us or directed us on where to go or sit. The service was EXTREMELY slow and the food didn’t make up for it. The menu was decently priced. Nobody around us seemed to be having a great time, the table beside us was very audibly and rudely complaining, which is the only reason we left our waiter a generous tip (we felt bad he had to deal with the terrible woman next to us). The atmosphere itself was very cute since it was on the boat deck, but the restaurant had no other redeeming qualities.
Fantastic Salmon! Great views!
Unique dining experience. Great place for a special occasion.
Cuisine is impressive and service outstanding
Great meal. Wish they still made the table-side caesar salad which was divine.
I expected a lot better for the price. Service was somewhat adequate and the food did not taste as good as I expected.
This is a really neat idea dining on a boat but the service and food was poor so I don’t recommend eating here. The kids spaghetti with marinara tasted more like a roasted red pepper enchilada sauce. We were constantly waiting on our drinks to be refilled or something to be brought to our table that was forgotten. We dined here for lunch so it wasn’t busy.
The location was good and food was priced well but we were disappointed that the food took so long and then the food came out cold. Waitresses also appeared to be overworked as she didn’t check on us at all and confused our orders.
We chose Pilothouse restaurant because it was a unique venue. Pleasantly surprise by the great food we had. We had an early reservation, so the dining room was very quiet, which we liked. Location in Sacramento, near old Sacramento, was nice. Able to wander around after dinner to see some of the other sites.
Went there for a brunch with friends. The food was great and the water was nice but the service was so poor I’ll never come back. Plain and simple I was expecting more than what I got.
The food was sub par. The waitress did t even offer the specials or start the table with the bread. We only knew because the table next to us. The waitress was hardly there. When ah said she’s be right back it was ages. Other customers were drunk and yelling instead of talking. We won’t go back. Being on the river was the only good thing.
Not the staff’s fault. Had a rowdy group of folks who were very ignorant in their surroundings. Ruined a perfectly dinner night celebrating a wedding anniversary.
Great food with a beautiful view.
Try the mushroom appetizer!
The food & service was excellent. I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking
about a unique dining experience on the water.
Excellent service and great food. Gorgeous scene of river.
My new bride and I were celebrating our union. The food and ambience added to our enjoyment and pleasures of the day.
I made a reservation for my wife's Birthday and reserved riverview table and got a small table on top leaning towards dock uneven not happy with results. Wife however made it wonderful she was a champ thru it all.....
The menu on the website is not the menu on Sunday, which is when I went. They advertise a daily lunch menu, which was not the case. I did not get what I went there for, as it was they were not offering the menu on the website.
An absolute delight! Met my sister coming from Walnut Creek, and I was coming from Grass Valley. She got lost, and the hostess was absolutely delightful as was our waiter and waitress. Truly a beautiful experience and we will be back!!!!
I highly suggest a table outside on the water. The atmosphere is wonderful.
Had a great time on the Delta King staying in the larger of the rooms. We enjoyed hanging out at the bar, the bartenders were great. We enjoyed our dinner outside with a view of the river and city. Waiter took very good care of our party of 6. Food was very good and well prepared and presented. Look forward to our next stay aboard the Delta King.
Normally I have good experiences at the DK. Unfortunately they were having an off day.
Took my aunt here for her birthday this past Saturday. The food was good, as always, but we felt forgotten at our outdoor table. The dessert we ordered never arrived, and on two separate occasions I had to track down our waitress or the maître d' just to get service after waiting a bit too long.
In fairness, the manager explained the ship had several events, including a wedding, that day. She also took $33 off of our bill for our inconvenience. So while I'm sure her day wasn't a lot of fun either, and our waitress was very busy too, we still felt a bit disappointed.
This is the second time in as many visits at the DK where the service was very slow or absent-minded. While I would recommend it to people, my recent experiences have me reconsidering it as a spot for a nice time.
Everything except the food was great. For the price, I expected better quality food. The crab cakes were particularly disappointing.
So we went last night September 3, 2019 a group of 7 people celebrating a Birthday, service was slow they was only 2 other tables a group of 4 and a table of 2. We had ordered our drinks from the bar, which I must say is probable where we should have eaten. We ordered won ton tacos (3) the 3 loved them, fried calamari it was good, the soup was split pea didn't try it but their bowls and cups were clean so they liked it. Dinner 1 had the cajun shrimp said it was good, one had the pork chop a little dry, 2 had the pasta & clams it was ok, 1 had the hummus my vegan grandson it was ok he said 1 just had the Caesars small with shrimp but it was pretty good size, I had the day boat scallops crayfish & tomato risotto, grilled lemon sounded really good, doesn't sound like it would be spicy?? I asked for no pepper no black no white never ever thought they would put RED PEPPER FLAKES on it very spicy and asked the server about it He said it shouldn't be spicy, he had it earlier or had tasted it? He asked the chef and came back, he had put RED PEPPER FLAKES on it so I handed him back my plate it still had 2 scallops and all the risotto I mean really? Everyone by that time was done so of course I didn't order anything else. But when I got the bill I was charged $30.00 for a dish I didn't eat because I had asked for no PEPPER that should include RED PEPPER FLAKES as well. Had the server came back sooner I could've told him but he didn't. Tip if you go to the DELTA KING eat in the Bar, make reservations and enjoy the view, service and ask questions lotsa questions before ordering.
Very poor. Service was good and very friendly. But literally waited an hour for two small meals that never came. We got up and left.
Great setting on the beautiful boat. Love it
Great view of the river. Great food and service. The prices are reasonable and portions are good. Nice to be able to dine inside or outside.
Best shrimp Caesar salad in Sacramento. Also, wild salmon dinner special was awesome. Pace of service could have been better, but there was a large party of 29 seated just before us. The server did her best.
Service and ambiance were great, and the food wasn't bad, but the New York steak I had was fatty and tough. We would go back, though, because other food was very good.
It was a pleasant experience. The food was well cooked and tasty, the server was very nice. The biggest drawback is the maintenance of the place in general. For example, in the dining room there was still tape on the lights from a previous paint job. For the price we paid, I would expect a little more attention to detail.
Service was slow. I couldn’t understand the server and the food wasn’t great at all.
Great food and atmosphere! Perfect way to end a trip to the Sacramento waterfront area!
Spent my birthday on The Delta King. Dinner was fantastic at the Pilothouse and the free breakfast in the morning was also superb! I will be back again! Don’t eat at Joe’s Crab Shack. For the price, you can eat a little cheaper here and the ambiance and food is way better here. I regret not finding this place sooner.
Nope. Less than a quarter full. 30 minutes to get food. Undercooked burger. Boring fries. The novelty of eating on a paddle wheeler was a bad idea.
