Delphine - W Hotel Hollywood Ratings and Reviews
We dine here several times a year and it never disappoints. Tara waited on us and she's so great. She's knowledgeable about both wine and the menu and knows just when to pop by the table to check on you. The food is great and the restaurant is right across from Pantages so it's very convenient if you're going to a play.
Definitely recommend and will be back.
We had lunch at Delphine prior to attending a matinee at the Pantages, and it was a great experience! We were pleasantly surprised by the simple yet well appointed decor and pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. The service was quite good, and although the lunch menu was somewhat limited, we thought that the food was well prepared and delicious. The restaurant is literally right across the street from the Pantages, so once you are parked for lunch or dinner, you are set to go to the theater after you eat. We self-parked in a pay lot behind the hotel, but valet parking is also an option. I highly recommend Delphine.
I haven’t had that bad of service at an allegedly nice restaurant in years! We made reservations for 1 hour and 45 minutes before our show at the Pantages (across the street). We noted in the reservation that we had theatre tickets. We were hoping on having a full relaxing meal before the show.
We showed up a couple minutes early and checked in. We were rudely greeted and then nothing was said for 5 minutes. Finally, I asked are we going to be seated and I received a curt response yes. 5 minutes later I asked when we were to be seated, another curt response “I could be a little while”. I explained we had reservations and show tickets and the hostess said they were working on it. We grabbed a drink and were eventually told they could seat us outside (where it was cold and smelled like the subway and smoke). We reluctantly agreed.
Meal service was just as bad, wish us having to ask several times to be attended to. Ultimately, we rushed through our meal and rushed to the show (not even having time to look at the dessert menu). The food was decent but that is only a small part of a good meal. They failed on everything else. We recognize things happen but there was no acknowledgment, no round of drinks, nothing but poor service. Lucky for them they obnoxiously auto charge a 17% service charge (on a party of 2) or it would have been less.
Took my daughter to Hamilton at the Pantages theater. I had just had hip replacement surgery and was so happy to discover that Delphine was directly across the street. We had a wonderful dinner which added to a very special evening for a 14-year-old daughter to remember. Thanks Delphine!
Visited Delphine before seeing a show at the Pantages - right across the street. Parking at the W hotel made it so easy, and with 5pm reservations, we had plenty of time to enjoy cocktails, delicious appetizers, and great dinners. Our daughter is gluten-free - and there were many options available. Our server even offered veggies to go with the hummus to avoid the pita or ships she couldn't eat. Great experience - would highly recommend!
Went with a group of 6 before seeing a show at the Pantages Theater. The service and food were fantastic, and they were so thoughtful about out timing issues making sure we had lots of time to enjoy the meal before the show. They also validated parking so it was less expensive to valet park there than using a public lot!
Delphine was recommended by the front desk person at our hotel. The restaurant was perfectly located for seeing Hamilton across the street. The food was good, the service was excellent and desert was wonderful. This is a nice restaurant if around Hollywood boulevard.
The location to the Pantages was great. It also provided valet parking that was validated so I didn't have to park my car in the dirt lot. The service was excellent and the food was superb. The price for 5 was reasonable. The final bill included a 17% gratuity which I usually don't like added to my bill. However, since the service was great, I didn't mind.
Disappointed with meal it was just OK nothing special had the Short Ribs, a bit dry. Did not want to be rushed and told waitress and she brought out my Caesar salad , which had way too much chopped bacon, at the same time as the Calamari Appetizer. In no hurry to return. A little pricey
anchovies $5 extra what is that all about.
The food was terrible. The prices were ridiculous. The Caesar Salad had brown lettuce and no flavor. My fish dish was a piece of fish on what looked and tasted like diced canned tomatoes. That that was it - nothing else on the plate. My granddaughter had a Caesar Salad and a bowl of mac & cheese. My daughter had linguini with clams & a salad. There were 3 of us, and no one liked their food, and believe me my two companions are not picky. The drinks were fair; we each had 2, and the bill was $315.00 without tip! So we paid $375 for the above items. It was unbelievably disappointing, which was unfortunate because it was part of a big night out to see Hamilton. Unfortunately that restaurant will probably never move, as they are directly across from the Pantages theatre and have a captive audience. The only saving grace was our waiter, who was great, but I wish he hadn't recommended items as in retrospect I'm wondering if they were out of the good stuff, if they had good stuff. You asked, so I responded. I usually love the restaurants recommended by Open Table, but not this one. It was quite awful.
Great location for a nice dinner before a show at Pantages! My husband's sea bass was a little dry, but my scallops were cooked to perfection! And the crispy brussel sprouts and sweet corn starters recommended by our waiter didn't disappoint. As a bonus, you get discounted valet parking when eating here! We'll definitely be back!
First, watch out for the extremely high valet charge. The get you for $20 after the validation. Very low class!
The host stand was in chaos, with multiple parties waiting to be seated in a restaurant which was not close to filled. The three women at the stand seemed to be arguing most of the time and no management came to correct. Not a good show by the manager.
That said, the food was good and the table service wonderful. Service was available when needed and they avoided us when we didn't.
I love Delphine's! It is the perfect place to go before a show at the Pantages. The location could not be more convenient! The service is outstanding. They are so adept at getting everyone to their show on time! Love the main menu. I highly recommend the Bette Davis cocktail. Yummy!
It was a little expensive but for the most part the food was very good. I ordered the scallops and I guess I am just not a scallops person. They were okay. However the other items we ordered were very good.
The inside was very open, which felt a little cold, but the outside dining patio was dark and cozy. I would recommend the outside patio if weather permits.
I came with my wife before seeing Hamilton. Delphine wasn't our first choice, but I made reservations late and the other recommended restaurants were full. My overall impression was that the food was very good, but the service was very bad. We hardly our saw our waitress after she took our order. We were looking for her trying to flag her down just for another drink and then again for a dessert menu and then again for the check. She seemed great, but the restaurant just seemed understaffed. I wouldn't have minded so much if the dinner wasn't so pricey. I would think that if you're going to spend that much on dinner, you shouldn't have any negative experience. The main positive is that it's right across the street from the theater. If that's not what you're looking for, then I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
Had to send back steak, had burnt flavor, apparently, we're the 4th table to send our food back that evening according to our server. Was here prior to a show at the Panrages. Across the street was very convenient. The service was good but food quality is lacking. We would not be returning.
We had scallops and salmon, and both were mediocre, which also applies to my starter kale salad. The only thing we had that was better than just okay was my wife's starter caesar salad, which she thought was excellent. Given the quality of the food and the relatively high prices, the only reason to come here is for the convenience if you're going to a show at the Pantages across the street. Otherwise, wouldn't come back.
It was just ok, overpriced for what we got, server was completely unatentative. They weren’t busy so i guess everyone just relaxed we were in for a birthday lunch which was never recognized even though i made a reservation to let them know. Server barely checked on us and was missing for long periods of time. We had long finished appetizers before our orders were even taken. The food was good- the prices didn’t match the quality. Over all just ok.
The food and ambiance was fantastic but our waiter was horrible. He immediately judged my date and I because we seemed young. He ignored our table almost completely, only acknowledging us to take our order and bring the check. The bus boy was much more helpful and attentive. I wish the MANDATORY tip could have gone to him!
I ordered the ceasar salad, short ribs, mushrooms and three chocolates mousse. The salad was fine. The short rib and mushrooms were amazing. Unfortunately there was something very grainy about the mousse. Not sure if the sugar didn’t get all the way melted, or if it was instant, it didn’t all get combined well. Service was quite good, but I think the mousse should have been comped after I told him about it.
