Delphine - W Hotel Hollywood Ratings and Reviews
Delphine was recommended by the front desk person at our hotel. The restaurant was perfectly located for seeing Hamilton across the street. The food was good, the service was excellent and desert was wonderful. This is a nice restaurant if around Hollywood boulevard.
The location to the Pantages was great. It also provided valet parking that was validated so I didn't have to park my car in the dirt lot. The service was excellent and the food was superb. The price for 5 was reasonable. The final bill included a 17% gratuity which I usually don't like added to my bill. However, since the service was great, I didn't mind.
Disappointed with meal it was just OK nothing special had the Short Ribs, a bit dry. Did not want to be rushed and told waitress and she brought out my Caesar salad , which had way too much chopped bacon, at the same time as the Calamari Appetizer. In no hurry to return. A little pricey
anchovies $5 extra what is that all about.
The food was terrible. The prices were ridiculous. The Caesar Salad had brown lettuce and no flavor. My fish dish was a piece of fish on what looked and tasted like diced canned tomatoes. That that was it - nothing else on the plate. My granddaughter had a Caesar Salad and a bowl of mac & cheese. My daughter had linguini with clams & a salad. There were 3 of us, and no one liked their food, and believe me my two companions are not picky. The drinks were fair; we each had 2, and the bill was $315.00 without tip! So we paid $375 for the above items. It was unbelievably disappointing, which was unfortunate because it was part of a big night out to see Hamilton. Unfortunately that restaurant will probably never move, as they are directly across from the Pantages theatre and have a captive audience. The only saving grace was our waiter, who was great, but I wish he hadn't recommended items as in retrospect I'm wondering if they were out of the good stuff, if they had good stuff. You asked, so I responded. I usually love the restaurants recommended by Open Table, but not this one. It was quite awful.
Great location for a nice dinner before a show at Pantages! My husband's sea bass was a little dry, but my scallops were cooked to perfection! And the crispy brussel sprouts and sweet corn starters recommended by our waiter didn't disappoint. As a bonus, you get discounted valet parking when eating here! We'll definitely be back!
First, watch out for the extremely high valet charge. The get you for $20 after the validation. Very low class!
The host stand was in chaos, with multiple parties waiting to be seated in a restaurant which was not close to filled. The three women at the stand seemed to be arguing most of the time and no management came to correct. Not a good show by the manager.
That said, the food was good and the table service wonderful. Service was available when needed and they avoided us when we didn't.
I love Delphine's! It is the perfect place to go before a show at the Pantages. The location could not be more convenient! The service is outstanding. They are so adept at getting everyone to their show on time! Love the main menu. I highly recommend the Bette Davis cocktail. Yummy!
It was a little expensive but for the most part the food was very good. I ordered the scallops and I guess I am just not a scallops person. They were okay. However the other items we ordered were very good.
The inside was very open, which felt a little cold, but the outside dining patio was dark and cozy. I would recommend the outside patio if weather permits.
I came with my wife before seeing Hamilton. Delphine wasn't our first choice, but I made reservations late and the other recommended restaurants were full. My overall impression was that the food was very good, but the service was very bad. We hardly our saw our waitress after she took our order. We were looking for her trying to flag her down just for another drink and then again for a dessert menu and then again for the check. She seemed great, but the restaurant just seemed understaffed. I wouldn't have minded so much if the dinner wasn't so pricey. I would think that if you're going to spend that much on dinner, you shouldn't have any negative experience. The main positive is that it's right across the street from the theater. If that's not what you're looking for, then I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
Had to send back steak, had burnt flavor, apparently, we're the 4th table to send our food back that evening according to our server. Was here prior to a show at the Panrages. Across the street was very convenient. The service was good but food quality is lacking. We would not be returning.
We had scallops and salmon, and both were mediocre, which also applies to my starter kale salad. The only thing we had that was better than just okay was my wife's starter caesar salad, which she thought was excellent. Given the quality of the food and the relatively high prices, the only reason to come here is for the convenience if you're going to a show at the Pantages across the street. Otherwise, wouldn't come back.
It was just ok, overpriced for what we got, server was completely unatentative. They weren’t busy so i guess everyone just relaxed we were in for a birthday lunch which was never recognized even though i made a reservation to let them know. Server barely checked on us and was missing for long periods of time. We had long finished appetizers before our orders were even taken. The food was good- the prices didn’t match the quality. Over all just ok.
The food and ambiance was fantastic but our waiter was horrible. He immediately judged my date and I because we seemed young. He ignored our table almost completely, only acknowledging us to take our order and bring the check. The bus boy was much more helpful and attentive. I wish the MANDATORY tip could have gone to him!
I ordered the ceasar salad, short ribs, mushrooms and three chocolates mousse. The salad was fine. The short rib and mushrooms were amazing. Unfortunately there was something very grainy about the mousse. Not sure if the sugar didn’t get all the way melted, or if it was instant, it didn’t all get combined well. Service was quite good, but I think the mousse should have been comped after I told him about it.
Being that Delphine is across the street from the Pantages Theater is why we went there prior to seeing "Hamilton." The wait service were wonderful; they understood that we had an 8:00 show and they had the food out immediately. Really appreciated the efficiency and the understanding. The hostess station was well into the restaurant so we had to walk all the way through the restaurant to talk to someone about our reservation. Our server and efficient kitchen crew was the stand out!
This restaurant caters almost exclusively to the before-theater crowd, and does a great job of that. The service is fast- maybe too fast - and the food well-prepared. Try to sit in the outside covered patio area, as the inside is very nosy and bustling. They have tables every where; in the isles, by the doors, in the kitchen entranceway; it looks much like a college cafeteria. Sit outside.
Delphine's has become another restaurant that has an atmosphere of being dark and dismal. I am tired of places that require a flashlight to see the menu, and also a flashlight to see what the food looks like. It seems food presentation is no longer important.
We ordered the Thanksgiving special, a four course Turkey Dinner. We opted for the Butternut soup, the Beet Salad, both were OK, the Turkey Breast was very dry and disappointing . Dessert was a slice of Pumpkin Pie which was very good. The other two people in our party
did not care for pumpkin pie, they were told there would be an additional charge to get one of
their regular desserts. Overall, the dinner was not worth the $55.00 per person. The service was very good, our server Jeremy was very pleasant and attentive.
Started with the calamari appetizer, it was very good. For the entrees, i had steak frites and my companion had the linguine with clams. Both good and elegantly presented. We both had coffee and dessert. I had the mango cheesecake with coconut ice cream. The ice cream was delicious but the cheesecake was dry and not very good. Companion had the mousse which was delicious. I like this place for dinner before the Pantages but it is pricey. Decent beer in tap selections.
My wife and I dine at Delphine whenever we go to the Pantages. It is directly across the street and parking is by valet at the W Hotel, where Delphine is located. The food is very good and they make sure that we finish in plenty of time for the show without feeling like we are being rushed. It makes for a nice evening.
The Delphine was a very nice option for our pre theater dinner. The parking was great, as well as the reservation. We were seated promptly and our waitress was excellent. i had the New York steak and my wife had the Salmon. We started with drinks and salads which were both well prepared(especially the bloody mary's). We were a little early and the staff did not seem to rush us out as we had our coffee. We then went across the street to see Hamilton. Getting our car later from the valet was very easy. This was certainly a very enjoyable evening for the two of us and Delphine was a major part of that. Not the best meal we ever had but certainly good one and definitely added to our experience that evening.
