Delphine - W Hotel Hollywood
The menu is very limited a d the food was disappointing. We expected higher quality for a W property. The staff was wonderful.
It was much better than I was expecting. The scallops were delicious. Good service. We'd go again.
Very welcoming. Fast service before our show. Recommend the brussel sprouts! All in our party we satisfied with their food .....including our 2 kids. We valet parked as well. It was all so easy and part of a beautiful hotel
This is my go to spot when I’m in town to see something @ The Pantages. Fairly quick in & out and some decent eats. The scallops and brusselssprouts are always hits. Great service as always ....love the brown bread & butter !!
If you are attending a performance at the Pantages, it is very convenient.
The food was tasty and overall good. The ambiance needs attention.
Love the location... perfect for pre show good. Was disappointed the brunch menu was the only option on a Saturday ... pancakes and breakfast are. Or the most pleasing good items when you are sitting outside and it’s 80 degrees.
Great food. Great service. Great experience
Our go to opposite the Pantages theatre. Valet parking and easy access to the theatre. We were disappointed to see that the menu has been drastically cut back and indeed had we not found something on the bar menu for our teenage kids, we would probably have left . The quality of the food was good and the service excellent. The prices are high but no more so than others in this location .
We have been going here for years. It is very convenient for the Pantages and parking. I doubt we will return. Over the years the menu has changed and it has gotten so small with few choices. In addition the Burrata asks came out so visually unappealing. The server told me the W has taken over it, apparently not for the better. It is not inexpensive and not with going. Too bad.
My favorite place to eat when visiting Hollywood and The Pantages Theater.
I've been going to Delphine's for years because it's conveniently located across the street from the Pantages Theatre. However, they have recently shrunk their menu to about a third of what it was. The server said they're in the process of re-doing the menu, but it sounded more like an excuse. The choices were too few to make me want to return.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Lobster ravioli, though at $42 it’s pricey for what you get. Thank you for carrying Chopin Vodka from Poland. Steven provided excellent service and has a great sense of humor. Thank you!
We always came here because of the ease of Pantages Theatre parking and because the menu offered a variety of options for brunch or lunch. Well they’ve changed the menu with limited options. The service has always been sub-par. I’m not sure if they give the wait staff too many tables or perhaps there isn’t enough coordination between the wait and busing staff. Either way it might be time to find other options.
This is my go to place before the theatre ... the service personnel make the experience personal and I truly appreciate that. Food, drinks and location are the best!
Wow! Every time I am amazed at how delicious this restaurant is. Then again, I love W properties. This restaurant knows how to get you in and out to the Pantages' shows. As always, Thank You! Great food, great service!
Have been going to Delphine for the past 5-years before the show at Pantages (about 5-times/year). We go merely because it's convenient - not because it's great. Very uninspired menu that rarely changes. Minimal selection and the service is never great. In fact - it's usually sub-par. This past Saturday my wife and I finally decided we would try to find another alternative for next year's season of shows. We can't take the boredom any longer.
Eat here prior to Pantages shows. Best Cesar salad!!!
Great food - great staff!!! Love this place!! Convenient parking
While our waiter was absolutely wonderful maybe the chef at brunch was having an off day? Our fruit salad with yogurt and honey was just a plate of chopped up fruit and a cup of yogurt on the side? Not the presentation you'd expect for the price paid. They also forgot one plate of fruit (we ordered two). The duck confit hash was so salty it was inedible and everything else was just OK. Not great considering the price point. But the W is super cool! So there's that!
The mixologists know what they’re doing. The food (new menu items) is great. We like dining in the bar at the high tops.
We chose Delphine for dinner because we were going to a play across the street at the Pantages. The best value was the valet parking at the W Hotel, where Delphine validates. Otherwise, it was an OK meal for tourist prices. Not really a surprise.
No strong recommendations on food, for or against. No great options nearby.
We have been coming to Delphine's for years, before every show at the Pantages. We have been through several menus. We finally found something we loved.....tostadas, only to be told they were taken off the menu. The new Cesar salad was too lemony and certainly not as delicious. The chicken was dry. I had a Cesar with chicken and there wasn't a lot of chicken (cubed) and certainly NOT worth the price. The risotto was very good. All in all, the food is average at best and certainly not worth the prices.
Very poor food. Got sick after eating it. Overpriced. Not much choice
GREAT place for some pre-theater dinner! I'd recommend going even earlier to beat the rest of the pre-theater crowd, plus you get better service before the main crowd arrives. Food and service was excellent!
WE HAVE BEEN GOING THERE FOR YEARS PRE-THEATER, BUT WILL NEVER GO AGAIN. THE MENU HAS CHANGED TO WHERE THERE ARE NO LIGHT BITES ANYMORE OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A HAMBURGER. SOME PEOPLE ON THEIR WAY TO THEATER DO NOT WANT TO EAT A HEAVY MEAL. YOU NO LONGER HAVE OPTIONS. RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY SO THAT TELLS YOU SOMETHING!
We always liked to go to Delphine before going to a play at Pantages, usually a matinee. Sadly they don't have a lunch menu, only brunch on Sunday. We could always find something, they had excellent "bowls" usually with quinoa and some type of fish or chicken, etc. They have removed those from the menu. My husband ordered a Nicoise salad. It had very unusual ingredients, like citrus slices, but it was ok. I ordered the burger, no cheese, side salad no fries. The burger came with cheese and fries. Also, our bus person spilled the milk he brought for my husband's iced coffee and did not clean it up, we had to. At the same time he brought sweeteners that were in a container that had ketchup on it. This place used to be packed with people going to the play, it was practically empty, however the play was sold out. I suppose other people got the news before we did, that this restaurant has gone downhill. We won't be back. We will simply find another place to eat before each play, and we are season ticket holders.
The place was very good, I would go back when going to the theatre again. Enjoyed the cocktails very much. Atmosphere was quite pleasant.
We arrived about 6:45 pm for dinner to make an 8:00 show at the Pantages. We ordered quickly.
The ceasar salad was terrible; just lettuce and anchovies, no cheese. Portions were small
No bread was offered.
Our dinners came out at 7:35 pm, which was too late. We had to pass on dinner in order to make the show.
We were charged for the drinks and the salad. We should have been comped for everything.
The manager did apologize for the delay.
Always a nice place for dinner before show at Pantages
Hello, I have been going to Delphine's for years and it has always been my favorite restaurant to go to when going to Pantages. I have to say, this was the first and only time EVERYTHING was horrible. Service was not great and the food was absolutely horrible. I was told their was a new Chef before we ordered because I noticed a very small Limited menu. We ordered Hummus appetizer, Risotto and chicken. My friend who ordered the Risotto sent back because she said it tasted like dog food. She then got salmon which was very dry. My chicken, was just as bad which I hardly touched. Service was bad , server hardly came around and when we were displeased with our food, she didn't flinch or try in any way to make it better. So with $150 bill later it was definitely not worth it. If we weren't in a hurry yo get to play, I would have spoke to manager. I have always loved and raved over Delphine's.....NOT ANY
Our waitress was slow to respond and not very friendly
It is convenient to the theater and the ambiance is lovely, but the food was not very good. The service was also slow and it wasn't very busy at all. We did have one busboy who was lovely though.
We read great reviews for Delphine and decided to book a pre-Pantages dinner here. We were hoping for a special night-out. What we got was one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had in a long time. From the second she walked up to our table, our server clearly didn't want to be there. I don't know if there have been recent changes to the kitchen but the menu was a limited version of the menu I saw posted on Open Table and the food was terrible. We ordered the mussels appetizer, which was the highlight of the meal. Then we proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Our food was not coming out and our server was nowhere to be seen (well, we saw her chatting with the bartender but she didn't come over to our table to explain why our food was not arriving). After much waiting, I asked the busser to please find our server. The restaurant was quite empty so there was no way that the kitchen was slammed. Also, other diners who arrived long after us received their dinners before us.
When our food finally arrived, we were even further disappointed. My dish (the striped sea bass) was mediocre. My husband ordered the chicken, which turned out to be a bland, boiled chicken. Really subpar food. And expensive. When the bill arrived, 17% gratuity was included (we usually tip far more, having waited tables in the past). We're not generally complainers, but given the price of the dinner and the terrible service we received, after much back and forth, we decided to talk to the manager - who recognized we had received terrible service, apologized, and agreed that forcing customers to pay the gratuity did not incentivize good service. In fact, it is infuriating and insulting when the service is so bad.
The crowning moment came when our server slammed our receipt on the table and said in the most aggressive, sarcastic way possible "Have a FABULOUS night!" Ensuring once and for all that we will never go back.
Apparently they just changed chefs. The food was mediocre at best, the menu was extremely limited and disorganized, and the meals came out 20 minutes apart. I was a fan of the restaurant before but it is horrible now.
The night we went 2 chefs didn’t show up. Service was SO bad it even took 15 minutes to bring a scoop of gelato. Our waiter had such an attitude. Food was ok good location if seeing a show but I’d go sit outside heard was much better and different menu!!!!! I’d pass next time...
The service was excellent thanks to Jeremy and his team!
Pre-theatre brunch. Small, uninspired menu. Generic. Across the street from the Pantages.
Food was amazing.. highly recommend the corn & the brussel sprouts. Setting is comfortable, romantic. Outdoor bar with nice fireplace. Service was outstanding.
I should have known we were in for a disappointment when we had to walk all the way from the hotel side of the restaurant to the Hollywood Blvd entry to be seated - through the restaurant. Whoever decided to have people walk to the furthest entry from the valet parking to be seated should be fired and replaced with someone competent.
I also should have known if only I had spent more time looking over their limited menu.
My wife found exactly two items on the menu that even remotely appealed to her, and even those were "upgraded" with extras that made the item no longer resemble what it was supposed to be. I mean, a Caesar Salad with bacon in it is not a Caesar. I love bacon, but that's just silly.
In the end, my wife ordered a sandwich from the bar menu and I ordered the braised rib, which came with ONE tiny piece of meat (hidden under pasta), which was fairly tender and had a pretty decent flavor - BUT the vegetables which supposedly were cooked in the same stew were raw and the accompanying pasta was not just bland, but it was also burnt, which gave off that distinct aroma of burnt food - and it tasted like it too. Even after returning the plate and getting a new one, the pasta still had the same burnt sections.
Our server did his best to make sure we left happy, and our disappointment wasn't his fault. The management of this restaurant needs to be replaced. The head chef needs to be replaced. The whole kitchen staff needs to be replaced by people who take their jobs seriously.
After all was said and done, I paid about $70 for about 2 ounces of meat and a second rate sandwich with no mayo. In my opinion Delphine is a completely ridiculous restaurant and I'm sorry I made the mistake of letting its proximity to the Pantages be the deciding factor when I made the reservation. What a miserable experience.
Everything we could have hoped for.
