Delphine - W Hotel Hollywood Ratings and Reviews
The Delphine was a very nice option for our pre theater dinner. The parking was great, as well as the reservation. We were seated promptly and our waitress was excellent. i had the New York steak and my wife had the Salmon. We started with drinks and salads which were both well prepared(especially the bloody mary's). We were a little early and the staff did not seem to rush us out as we had our coffee. We then went across the street to see Hamilton. Getting our car later from the valet was very easy. This was certainly a very enjoyable evening for the two of us and Delphine was a major part of that. Not the best meal we ever had but certainly good one and definitely added to our experience that evening.
Our server was excellent, as was the bus staff. But the food, although expensive, was rather mundane and tasteless. An OK salad, a very mediocre halibut, but really good (and plentiful) brussel sprouts. The wine was decent, but it ought to be at $15 per glass. Basically, not worth the price. One more note on service - it was almost too fast. We had just finished our salads and were chewing our last bites when the entre's showed up. No time to relax between courses.
Delphine has a menu with suitable food choices for all dietary needs. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. This was my first time at Delphine. I was seeing Hamilton at The Pantages and wanted someplace close and the menu looked interesting. I would definitely book this restaurant again! Thank you for taking such good care of me!
My theater partner and I went to see "Hamilton" and wanted to eat at Delphine. We had been there several time before. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server was excellent and made us feel at home. Barbara was not too hungry and had two sides and I had the salmon, which was delicious. I don't eat garlic or onions and appreciated the kitchen preparing my food without them. The bill was high and I think maybe they included a tip plus the one I gave. I parked with valet at the W and had my ticket validated, but was still charged $20 which is very high and makes the evening even more expensive. I can't do that too often.
Nevertheless the food and service were excellent even though pricey.
The service was terrible. The server was great but clearly the restaurant was understaffed. The food was actually good as well as the drinks. The restaurant needs to staff better for their theater rush. I would not recommend this place if you had to be somewhere after your meal...
Went for Pre show early lunch and read great reviews. Started off to not being seated for 20 mind despite ion restaurant. Host kept on talking to other host. The food Mine not so good tuna melt soggy Bloody Mary weak and the service from our waiter was very poor The other waiters were great and I finally told him we feel completely neglected. I am SPG member and this was worst experience in a Starwood restaurant
Great Great GREAT location. Directly across the street from the Pantages (perfect for HAMILTON!) AND you can valet for the show too!! Make a reservation in advance and know they are prepared to get u to the show on time ;) The only complaint (if I HAD to) would have been the limited menu on Sat at noon. It was one page - and although had a little something for all types of food preferences, not very many "special" concept foods (you'd expect in such a great location and hotel).
No regrets - well see ya again! Enjoy the show!!
We arrived early, were seated within 5 minutes. Our waiter gave us time without disappearing. They were able to customize the menu to our specific dietary needs. We all had something different and it was all delicious. Scallops, halibut, braised short ribs, Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, cauliflower.
For such a high end hotel I would think that the dress for the staff in the restaurant would be a little more then a black button down and jeans and the service was just good. Also, the chairs and tables are cheap and small cafe chairs and tables. The food is okay but not worth the price. I ordered the fresh backed chocolate cookies and what they served were partially (meaning, one part was warm the other part was cold) warmed over Pepperidge Farm Chocolate Chunk Soft Cookies. HUGE disappointment.
We enjoyed the restaurant. The salad and entrees were very good. I wasn't crazy about the crumble dessert, nor the coffee. The service was pleasant, but i thought that given the fact I mentioned we had a play across the street at the Pantages, it was slow. Also, we were sitting in an area that had an air conditioning blowing on us and it was cool inside and outside. We ended up asking to be moved. In spite of this, if I were going to a show at the Pantages, I would try it again.
Great food and wonderful service. We had the Ceasar salad (terrific) and appetizers (mac & cheese and calamari). The salad and appetizers can make for a nice meal. Entree items such as scallops, filet mignon, chicken, salmon, duck are prepared to taste fantastic. Valet parking at the W Hollywood Hotel. Perfect pre-theater dinner in that Delphine is literally across the street from the Pantages. You'll love it.
It was good on all levels. The food was good, the service friendly as well as excellent, we could talk (table for four) and convenient to the Hollywood Pantages Theater where we were seeing Hamilton. It was recommended by a friend and was our first time there but we will be back and will recommend it to other friends. Even the lovely lady at the desk was nice and welcoming. Very good job Delphine!
We went for a pre-theatre dinner. Fortunately, I'm risk averse. I had a 5:15 reservation, although the show didn't start until 8 pm. We arrived and were quickly seated. The restaurant was nearly empty. The waitress was nice, and took our drink order quickly. After we ordered food, which was delivered and cleaned up by other staff members, she basically disappeared for the rest of the evening. As we were leaving, she did apologize and said that she had too many tables. The thing is, it wasn't that busy in the beginning, and she had a ton of help. It was busy by the time we left, but only because we had been there for over 2 hours. The food was good, but the 17% mandatory service charge definitely did not ensure prompt service.
The place has a nice appearance. Friendly staff. Menu was okay but I think they could stand to add some additional dishes (there were no signature dishes from what I could tell). They need to add a few knock-out dishes, a special steak with their own original seasoning, sauteed mushrooms in a wine sauce, one of the fish dishes prepared a special way. Add some originality to the menu. A little flair!
The ambiance was nice but for evening diners a little more than a mini candle on the table to see anything doesn't do it. Maybe small adjustable lamps for each table would be better, that would allow the diners to set the mood.
Service was good / friendly, (table and bar). The place was clean.
Kind of pricey but that's okay if the food had a wow factor !
It was a nice restaurant. The ambiance is nice, upscale. The service was good. The food, I had the chicken entre and it was over cooked with hardly any flavor. The others in my party enjoyed their meals. The prices were on par with other upscale restaurants. Over all, a pleasant experience.
We had to take an earlier table booking at 5.30 which was my fault for leaving it until the day before to book. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived and seated. It slowly filled up and a better ambiance came with it.
Clearly this is a pre-theater place to eat with Pantages across the street, as the first thing they ask you is whether you are seeing a show, so they can be mindful of time. Our waitress Robin, was fantastic. Very personable, fun and friendly, with lots of recommendations.
It's a little more than I like to pay for dinner, but the food was really good so I was happy.
The clientele are varied, but a little more towards the smart dressed and pre-show crowd. We left at 7 and it was still busy, but expect that this place thins out once the shows are due to start.
Overall very happy and would probably go back again for a special occasion.
