Great service from the staff at a late hour.
1) I absolutely resented that they add 17% tip to your bill AUTOMATICALLY. No matter how small or big your party is. Regardless of the fact you loved or were NOT satisfied with your meal. Of course they don't tell you this when you sit down. It's in very small print on the bottom of the menu.
2) Service could care less about their job.... they KNOW they are getting 17% no matter what. Our waitress forgot our appetizer - when the meal was near the end and I asked - her answer was "Oh I must have forgotten to write it down"
3) The food just isn't that good. In one word.... BLAH. The tiny piece of seabass was a nice , but had absolutely no flavor to it at all. I asked for lemon but that hardly helped. $34 My daughter had the Linguini & Clams. Her same response. Blah. It sat in a bowl of oil - we could see the chili flakes - she even asked to have it made on the spicier side, to please add extra chili flakes, and we shook our heads laughing that there was no bite to it at all.
4) I should have listened to the Yelp reviews which gives them 3 stars. In my opinion that is still too generous. I could go on with a couple other unprofessional moves - but that's the gist of it. Save your money, there are plenty of other places to eat that are near the Pantages Theatre.
Our waiter Adam was awesome. We were there with our two 8 year old nieces and he was warm, funny and made them very comfortable. Very enjoyable evening.
Came here before catching Aladdin at the Pantages theatre. I set a reservation at 5:45 but was running late due to traffic. Called them a few minutes before we were supposed to be there and said we’d be 10-15 mins late. No problem, they said. Got there at 6pm, were immediately seated and not 40 mins later we were pretty much done eating! The food came out SO FAST and it was delicious!!!! We ordered scallops, filet mignon, chicken, truffle fries, mushrooms, mashed weiser potatoes with black truffles, and calamari. We were celebrating birthdays and they gave us 2 chocolate mousses for free. Everything was seriously soooo delicious. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.
Servers were nice, but very unattentive. Only especially good choice was the Caeser Salad!
Delphine is our favorite choice to dine before we head across the street to the Pantages for an evening (or afternoon) of theatre. My daughter (16 yrs old) wouldn't go to the theatre with me unless we go to Delphine first!! We have NEVER been disappointed with the service (5 stars), good selections for just a glass of wine for me, and always an order of truffle fries for my daughter. I love knowing that good memories are being made for a mom and a teenage daughter at the theatre with Delphine being a huge part of that! Thanks Delphine!!
Every bite was amazing. I was so sad to become full!
Good food, Caesar salad and chicken sandwich were very good
Booked reservation to eat dinner prior to seeing show at Pantages. Didn't even end up staying for dinner. Service was absolutely horrible. Took about 30 minutes just to get water and a drink. Ended up closing out and walking inside the W to eat at the bar... Never will go back. For being an upscale place I'm shocked how bad the service is. Also funny they automatically charge 17% for gratuity... Not much motivation for staff to work hard.
Great local if your going to The Pantages.
Dinner before the Aladdin show!!
I have been to Delfines before, but this time I can recommend the restaurant. The server, Jeremy?, was committed to ensuring our meal was to our liking and timely, as we had theater tickets. The two dishes, chicken and scallops were perfectly cooked and very good.
I will not hesitate to eat here again.
Great location for those having the opportunity to see a show at The Pantages Theater. Atmosphere was nice, service was good, food excellent. A little pricey, but the selection was outstanding.
Great place for pre-theatre brunch/lunch. Always great food and service. I've been coming here for years!
Place was nice. The server was one of the best I can remember. She was very attentive and gave the table a very good experience. I would come here again
Nice restaurant to kill time prior to watching a show
Delphine's is my go-to restaurant before theater at the Pantages. I LOVE the poke appetizer as well as the Brussel sprout dish and the mushroom dish. The service was great; food came in a very timely manner. The staff is so used to having theater people, one never has to worry about being late to the theater.
After the theater
Really nice looking place, but mac and cheese tasted powdery . Steak needed flavor, sea bass tasted dry. Pretty expensive for food to not be pretty good.
Delphine was perfect for a delicious, super quick dinner before a show across the street at Pantages Hollywood Theater!!! Fun, decadent cocktails, healthy AND hearty menu options that were served unbelievably fast!!!! Awesome friendly and efficient waiter, friendly hostesses and doting bus boys! We actually had a fabulous meal and a “cool vibe” spot in this W Hotel on a Friday night in 45 minutes!!! Unheard of ! 😊 We easily strolled across the street to Pantages to see Aladdin, and we’re completely stress-free👍. Highly recommend Delphine at the Hollywood W Hotel . Plus it was very trendy and had clean, mod and groovy styling and bathrooms. Perfect for a date or girl’s night out, like we had.
I was very excited to dine here with my Mom, she had never been to the Pantages Theatre and we had tickets for Aladdin. So I was very much looking forward to a delicious meal before the show. I honestly think this is one of the worst meals I have ever had, especially for the cost! Mom ordered the NY strip and I ordered the Ribeye. Both steaks were so tough and chewy, it was horrible. And I believe my “ribeye” wasn’t even a ribeye. The first bite I took of my “medium” cooked steak had no pink at all, and I felt I had to use some serious sawing pressure to even cut through the meat. The was no marbling nor tenderness on my ribeye. Not at all what one would expect for a $54 steak.
Service wasn’t much better. I waited an eternity for my ordered beverage- an iced tea, I actually had to ask 2 different people and it came after our entrees arrived. It came without any sweetners and set down without a word.
At the end of our meal, my Mom had to visit the ladies room, and was sick from her meal. She felt so unwell, she didn’t want to see the show for fear of more GI upset. So that was $200 down the drain, besides our $170 hugely disappointing meal. I understand now why the restaurant puts a mandatory 17% gratuity on the bill... otherwise servers wouldn’t make much for such poor service and food!!
Dinner at Delphine is always great. A little hitch with our main entree, but Jeremy saved the evening. #JEREMYROCKS! Thanks for a great pre-theatre dinner.
We picked Delphine for its proximity to the pantages. Literally across the street. The food was ok, nothing exciting and due to that fact I feel like the prices are a bit high. The kids liked their food which is a win of course. The space and vibe is nice and more comfortable and esthetically cool to me than the W hotel style which seems a bit cheesy and faux fancy. But that’s just not my style. I’m sure others will like it fine. I recommend for convienience but would not go out if my way and pay $20 to park to eat here.
Upscale New York Style Dining in Hollywood. Great food. Ambiance special occasion. Seating a bit close but can request cozy dining. Great attentive service. Upscale decor and menu. Pre/Post Theatre Dining works. Reservation recommended.
First of all, been going to this restaurant for over 2 years now before we go to The Pantages
Hostess said we didn't have a reservation. I said we did from Open Table. She couldn't find it but did seat us
Told the waiter we were waiting for one more person. Table was set for 3 not 4
I had to go get him to take our order since we had a time limit due to theatre
He thought more people were coming. Duh!
There was food on the floor of our table. Told the hostess. She did nothing!
Told the waiter and he got the busboy to clean it up
Made up for not getting our order more promptly
But we got our food and were able to eat and relax and then go to the theatre
Good food, close to Pantages and combined parking. Taff was pleasant.
The meal was served before the drinks arrived!
Excellent as always!!! We always go to Delphine before or after the Pantages! It is always awesome!
We eat here every time we go to the theatre. We have tried most things on the menu. It's good, but I wish they would change their menu more often. It's not overly expensive, but it's not that cheap either. I like how they charge tax for the waiters to make sure to get their insurance.
The food was delicious as always, but I was disappointed when our server pointed out the 17% service charge and said it was a requirement of the City of Los Angeles. We were a party of two.
Great service, great location to Pantages, food not worth the prices.
The perfect spot before the theater. We had a relatively quiet table, a very attentive and cheerful server and a delicious dinner. We will definitely enjoy dining here again.
Our meal was excellent and our waiter Jeremy is the best!
Tara is an exceptional server. She knows the menu very well, has a great sense of humor, and made us feel so comfortable. The food was fantastic!
We dine here several times a year and it never disappoints. Tara waited on us and she's so great. She's knowledgeable about both wine and the menu and knows just when to pop by the table to check on you. The food is great and the restaurant is right across from Pantages so it's very convenient if you're going to a play.
Definitely recommend and will be back.
We had lunch at Delphine prior to attending a matinee at the Pantages, and it was a great experience! We were pleasantly surprised by the simple yet well appointed decor and pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. The service was quite good, and although the lunch menu was somewhat limited, we thought that the food was well prepared and delicious. The restaurant is literally right across the street from the Pantages, so once you are parked for lunch or dinner, you are set to go to the theater after you eat. We self-parked in a pay lot behind the hotel, but valet parking is also an option. I highly recommend Delphine.
I haven’t had that bad of service at an allegedly nice restaurant in years! We made reservations for 1 hour and 45 minutes before our show at the Pantages (across the street). We noted in the reservation that we had theatre tickets. We were hoping on having a full relaxing meal before the show.
We showed up a couple minutes early and checked in. We were rudely greeted and then nothing was said for 5 minutes. Finally, I asked are we going to be seated and I received a curt response yes. 5 minutes later I asked when we were to be seated, another curt response “I could be a little while”. I explained we had reservations and show tickets and the hostess said they were working on it. We grabbed a drink and were eventually told they could seat us outside (where it was cold and smelled like the subway and smoke). We reluctantly agreed.
Meal service was just as bad, wish us having to ask several times to be attended to. Ultimately, we rushed through our meal and rushed to the show (not even having time to look at the dessert menu). The food was decent but that is only a small part of a good meal. They failed on everything else. We recognize things happen but there was no acknowledgment, no round of drinks, nothing but poor service. Lucky for them they obnoxiously auto charge a 17% service charge (on a party of 2) or it would have been less.
Took my daughter to Hamilton at the Pantages theater. I had just had hip replacement surgery and was so happy to discover that Delphine was directly across the street. We had a wonderful dinner which added to a very special evening for a 14-year-old daughter to remember. Thanks Delphine!
Visited Delphine before seeing a show at the Pantages - right across the street. Parking at the W hotel made it so easy, and with 5pm reservations, we had plenty of time to enjoy cocktails, delicious appetizers, and great dinners. Our daughter is gluten-free - and there were many options available. Our server even offered veggies to go with the hummus to avoid the pita or ships she couldn't eat. Great experience - would highly recommend!
Only good for parking near play. Poor service and overpriced food.
