Delphine - W Hotel Hollywood
Convenient restaurant across from Pantages theater.
Menu selections are limited, spendy for what you get.
Other than the proximity to the Pantages which is great, I wouldn't recommend Delphine. The food was mediocre.
Friendly greeting at the front desk; nice patio seating; delicious hummus and soft, warm pita bread; yummy truffle fries; perfect location directly across the street from the Pantages.
1. The food was very good.
2. The service was fair due to the fact that this was my first time there and had asked about portion sizes, to know how much to order. Base on his suggestion, ordered two sides to go with the entrees. The entrees were full meals in themselves. Could have saved $25 and the waste of food.
3. Never a fan of automatically charging for the tip for a party of two.
4. We were seated uncomfortably close to another couple in a half booth half table/chair. The chair was quite uncomfortable. I would have asked to change it, but they all looked the same as the one I was in.
The drinks were ok. The food was blah. I ordered fish and there was a hair in it but it was too late to get a new dish so they took it off the bill and gave us 15% off. Without even asking they put our friends on a separate bill so that the discount did not apply. Not worth the money. We honestly would’ve had more fun at Shake Shack.
Robin was a great waitress. Her knowledge of the menu and wine was excellent! The food was delicious!
Supposedly the nicest restaurant near the Pantages for a pre-show meal, but the food the four of us had was tasteless and way over priced. Better to eat at a fast food place than here. Will never return.
Great for pre-pantages meal!
It was great!
The food was very good, but the outstanding service from Jeremy was above and beyond. His friendly manner and competence made the evening special.
Breakfast in a Friday morning. Waitress was in a bad mood and service was lacking. Eggs with Salmon were delicious, other food was mediocre.
Had dinner before les mis at the Pantages. Great food place service experience. Would go back for sure
Great! The service was fast and the food was excellent.
This restaurant is very handy prior to a show at the Pantages. I recommend 2 1/2 hours prior to enjoy a nice leisurely dinner. Our server Jeremy was fantastic and had good recommendations. I had the coq au vin and enjoyed it immensely, while my husband had the sole meuniere. The lardon frisee salad was to die for. There apparently is a new chef as of 2 weeks ago and I am excited to try his cooking in the near future!
As usual the food, ambiance and service generally was excellent. We always make reservations before attending performances at the Pantages. One major complaint yesterday- an important client joined us, she was allergic to several spices and foods so she asked the waitress if certain things were used in the hamburger she ordered. The waitress said she would check but didn’t return with an answer for about 15 minutes or longer. We asked two other people who didn’t know and didn’t return with an answer. Finally the waitress returned but the food was cold but then. I was embarrassed and my client didn’t enjoy her lunch and left most of it. Her face was red so I suspect the info from the waitress wasn’t correct. It was s simple question but handled poorly. We may not return in the future.
We have always had an excellent experience at Delphine. The wait staff is really "tuned-in" to pre-theater dining, and they pay attention to the timing of your meal. All in all an excellent dinner choice.
Food is average. Service was ok. They nickel and dime you without telling you certain things are an extra charge. Over priced for average dining
Great spot for a pre-theater dinner. The Hollywood Pantages is directly across the street. Drinks were good. The bartender took care in making them (I watched). Wine selection isn't great and pretty spendy for what it was. Food was good, but again, a lil spendy. Out server was great and we didnt feel neglected. He also gave good recommendations.
Ideal for unsuspecting tourists. Part of the Bonvoy empire, this eatery is simply awful.
Example : Fish of the day was halibut - but we could smell the plate arrive - we ordered it because its in season in California, with fresh fish available at any grocery store, ours was not fresh. But apart from the food, the whole place looked as if it was having an afternoon nap. Our mistake for trying to have lunch at 3pm perhaps.
We have always had wonderful service but our waiter was rude. I think it bothered him that we didn’t order drinks and only had two salads and two appetizers. He was nicer after we ordered desserts. He only brought 3 pieces of bread when there were 4 of us. A lady came by asking if everything was good, I asked for more bread and she said okay then never returned with the bread even thought she walked by several times.
Our server was exceptional! She was so genuinely warm and darling and gave us great guidance in what to order and she was spot-on with her insight! The short ribs pasta was melt-in-your-mouth divine! We have gone to many other restaurants before catching a show at the Pantages, but this is by far the best experience! You valet park your car at the W, eat a delicious meal with great service and then, just walk across the street at showtime! No stress! No fuss! You can enjoy a delicious meal without checking your watch constantly and you just come back after the show and have your car brought to you for close to what it would cost you to park in a lot a few blocks away. This will be the way we will do it from now, on!
Our waiter was awesome. Food was tasty, more on the pricey end but we shared so it wasn't as bad. Very convenient for Pantages as it's right across the street.
We dine here prior to the shows at Pantages theater as we have season tickets. Food is quick coming out and very good. Service is also great!
Great place for brunch prior to going to the Pantages. Food is yummy and service was great,
We sat in the first row of tables near the bar and the tables are too close to each other. People sitting next to us spoke very loudly.
We're regulars here, and the bartender knows my drink and that we like to watch Jeopardy. The place also has a "neighborhood discount" for regular clients. We try to leave at least part of that as a tip. on top of the 17% that everybody gets charged. This time we get there after a group of hockey fans who were watching the playoffs so no Jeopardy. But Barb's Malbec was good, my Iced tea got refilled regularly, and the burger was just enough food so I didn't fall asleep at the Pantages. It's a great way to start off a night at the theater.
Overpriced average food. Service was fairly prompt and courteous.
Our waitress was either wanting to be somewhere else or just overwhelmed. She was hard to flag down and then pretty cranky when she came over. One person’s meal was too spicy and the waitress was too snarky while dealing with the situation. I’m hoping she was just having a bad day.
We went to Delphine's for an early dinner before seeing Les Mis at the Pantages on Mother’s Day, so I expected a packed restaurant and slow service. To my surprise we experienced neither. In fact we had a delicious meal served by an amazing waiter. We had the scallops, beef rib pappardelle (my favorite), and halibut special (not exactly special, but good). We also ordered the Mexican Street corn which I highly recommend. Dessert was amazing as well. We shared the Brownie with vanilla gelato and the apple pastry with vanilla gelato and Carmel sauce. An excellent was to top off the meal. We were served and finished our meal in less than 90 minutes which was perfect for our show time. Be sure to ask for valet parking validation to save $5 off of the $25 fee. Valet after the show was very quick.
A wonderful Mothers Day experience! The Front Staff was courteous and friendly. Robin was wonderful as our Waitress, wishin my Mother a Happy Mothers Day and making sure we had whatever we needed. All in all a great way to start our Mothers Day adventure.
Parked at the hotel and had lunch before going to the Pantages. Wonderful meal, great location, great service, including the valet. Absolutely will do it again.
I am disappointed. The quality of food has gone downhill since my last visit. My shank was half fat, yuck! Not going back unless only for drinks. Their bourbon drink was good.
Great food and service. My daughter loved the warm rye sourdough bread too!
Wonderful service, food and location. Fun for happy hour or Pre / post theater meals.
Pre theater dinner. Dinner arrived quickly and was delicious.
This is our go to spot before seeing a show at Pantages Theatre. We saw Fiddler on The Roof, excellent show. They are very accommodating and sensitive to the start times of the show. Food is always outstanding. Love the valet parking at the hotel. Simply cross the street for the show.
Good food. Service is just OK. Have to keep flagging down the waiter. Not enough check in to see how things are going or what we need. But, it's a pre-theater stop for us and we always enjoy the meal. A little pricey. Gratuity is built in to the price, FYI.
Great hostesses and servers.
We went here for dinner before a show at the Pantages. We had a reservation and were seated right away. It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us once we were at the table, although plenty of staff, including a manager, walked past us multiple times. The waitress came over and said “Ok, what do you want?” No introduction, no reading of any specials. Felt very rushed. Drinks took about 7 minutes after ordering, food took about 20. When the food arrived, we found a hair right on top of the Short Rib Pappardelle. Sent it back and were given a new one after about 10 minutes. Waitress checked on us once after that. We had to ask for the check to get to our show. She did take a glass of wine off the check because of the hair. Our credit cards say on the table for 12 minutes and she still never came by to take payment. We finally ended up just leaving cash and walking out. Super disappointing experience, especially because I’d heard a lot about this place. It was apparent they were woefully unprepared for a dinner rush before a show at the Pantages, which is MORE than surprising. We won’t be going back.
And I didn’t even mention that it was my friend’s birthday.
