Delmonico’s Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Been here a few times. It's the closest steakhouse to home. The service has always been excellent. There have even been a few menu changes (all positive) since our last visit. Hotel restaurants often get a bad rap, and while Delmonico's may not be a five-star steakhouse, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a special occasion place without having to go to center city.
I have eaten at Delmonico's many times and always enjoyed it. The last time I had a different experience. I ordered a veg wrap from the bar menu. It was nothing like what I had before. I did not eat it and the waiter did not offer to take it off the bill. Actually, the service was not good and the waiter was grumpy.
We dine at Delmonico's regularly to the point of usually having the same server. This time our server was different and service was atrocious. Food came out wrong and we were made to feel that we did not know what we were taking about. Even calling over the manager did not make a difference. Hopefully just a bad night all around. We have never had such an experience at Delmonico's and hopefully it never happens again or we will have to find an alternate eating establishment.
I was extremely disappointed in the food. The waiter did not explain that the veggies were family style and so we exceeded the amount of side dishes that was necessary and the amount of money that was spent. My partners and my steaks were tasteless and chewy. The Bernaise sauce was extremely mediocre, as though it was a mix from a package! The hash brown potatoes were sent back! The hot chocolate chip cookie dessert was just average as was the ice cream that came with it.
I am sorry to say that this was extremely disappointing and very expensive.
I took a friend who is a very fussy eater here for her 90th birthday. At the end of the meal there was nothing left on her plate. She had nothing but compliments for her salmon (and that's a rarity)
My steak was cooked to perfection. I had planned on bringing part of it home to have for lunch the next day but couldn't resist eating every last bite. It was juicy and so flavorful.
I'll be going back again.
Had the sirloin steak - was out of this world. Cooked perfectly. Great wine list.
Only negative wasn't the restaurant but the hotels valet parking - if you have a manual transmission, don't give them the keys, mine came back after dinner in a cloud of clutch smoke.
A very nice dining experience - specifically for an in-hotel restaurant . Very professional and attentive service staff. Excellent wine list and dinner menu. The price was comparable to the menu and amenities, which might be a little high for the location, but the experience was worthy.
Excellent steaks, sides ok.
Service was not very good. There were empty tables through out the night. We had a large party of 8. We were Seated on time but without menus. Waited too long for menus and Waited too long to give order. Because of the large party I expect better service when gratuity is included.
I think because of the lack of wait staff, and after waiting almost 10 minutes, we had to ask for our check, which was practically thrown on the table by a female waitress. Then after waiting almost another 10 minutes, we walked over to the maitre' de and asked him to send someone to pick up the payment.
Lackluster. Caesar salads arrived with grape tomatoes and funky seasoned croutons. Ordered chicken Marsala and it arrived in a gelatinous brown sauce...much too sweet, super thick, and the taste did not resemble anything close to a Marsala wine sauce. Hubs ordered a filet and it was so/so.
Service was okay. Servers appeared to be mostly distraught after exiting kitchen. Not a warm, friendly atmosphere.
4 of us dined here before a Bette Midler concert. One had crabcakes, one, sea bass, one, salad and scallops, and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious thick New York strip! Everyone enjoyed his food. The cocktails and wine were very pleasant too as was the coffee and shared dessert. Prices were not a bargain, but they were not unreasonable either the restaurant itself looked like the nice hotel dining room it was. Our waiter and his assistants were very cognizant of our time constraints, but did not rush us.
It was a very pleasant meal in a handsome facility. We would return.
This longtime restaurant keeps on ticking. The service is excellent and the food is very very good. The menu has great variety for a steakhouse and the room is lovely and allows for intimate conversation. This place is beautifully managed and a pleasure for the diner.
Celebrated a special birthday with family. Lovely food (especially the steaks, as expected). Great friendly server who didn't "upsell" or push too much. Elegant but relaxed atmosphere. Not cheap but worth it and not as bad as other similar restaurants. Gave the birthday guy a surprise dessert on the house-so nice!!
