Delmonico Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Food was definitely not worth the price. We have dined at other Emeril restaurants and have had amazing experiences. However, Delmonicos Las Vegas did not live up to our expectations. We started off with the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and told the waiter they were over cooked and some were mushy. He did not seem to care about our comments. Which pretty much set the tone for the rest of our meal. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
We have been to Delmonico before and it was very enjoyable. This time unfortunately we were disappointed.
One of our favorite was the table side Caesar salad. Instead of being shown how it's made and guiding the process like the last time, the preparer was busy talking with a girl while making the salad and really wasn't paying attention. The attention to detail was lackluster. We can hear them talking behind us about how much "tip" they made the night before, etc. Just not the type of conversation that should happen at a fine dining restaurant. The servers were more interested in talking amongst themselves than being attentive.
There are so many other dining options in Las Vegas and unfortunately Delmonico is not going to be on our list.
I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The welcoming staff was very friendly and we were seated right away. Our wait staff was also friendly, but for some reason the warmth and good feeling I’m used to getting at steakhouses of this caliber was missing. Despite great reviews, I was moderately impressed. The wine list was extensive and had great choices. As an appetizer we were offered a mushroom dumpling that tasted fantastic. The downside was, it was a bit cold on the inside. The popovers also had lots of raving reviews but again, I wasn’t impressed and they were also a bit cold. A tableside Caesar salad was our choice of vegetable. It was tasty, but about one notch above mediocre. We both ordered the filet mignon, medium rare, and were very happy with that cut. The flavor was spectacular and cooked to perfection. The grits with cheese and bacon, I was supremely unhappy with. My better half enjoyed them but I just did not care for the way they tasted. Too much like corn and they were not smooth at all. As a birthday treat, I was presented with a scoop of pumpkin ice cream that tasted very..... pumpkin-y. It wasn’t bad but I couldn’t finish it. The saving grace of the meal, besides the steak, was the caramel butter cake. Oh my word I couldn’t eat it fast enough. I am not even a caramel fan but THAT was a warm and delicious dessert. I would return just for that alone. All in all, this wasn’t a bad restaurant. It just doesn’t creep to the top of the list of eateries I’d frequent if I’m searching out a steakhouse.
The smashed potatoes and asparagus side dishes were great, perfectly cooked. The bone-in ribeye on the other hand was terrible. No seasoning and I couldn’t cut into it. They gave me a replacement, and it was better, but I couldn’t help thinking I could have gone to Trader Joe’s and bought one of those frozen NY strip steaks, cooked it myself and it would have been more enjoyable. For $60, I would want the meat to be so tender and flavorful but it was neither.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant. My husband and I only splurge on this type of restaurant once a year. The food was not that great, we were in a corner with plain walls - very little decor - and compared to other similar places, this just wasn’t worth ~$120/person.
The reviews on OpenTable were not wrong. Delmonico was excellent. All of us had an incredible meal, and will absolutely go back the next time we are in Vegas. Pop-overs (Yorkshire pudding) as the bread you get at the beginning of the meal was a huge surprise - and they were delicious. The 20 Oz bone-in rib eye was amazing as well.
The restaurant was very plain inside. We ordered steaks that were just average at best. Spent a lot of money without even getting drinks of any kind. We got 2 ribeyes and 2 sides and gumbo which was great and spent 170.00. You re better off going to Ruth chris. We went for our anniversary, where they did leave us a card and they did send a green tea sorbet with happy Birthday on the plate lol but it was not good. I will not be back, too many other great steak places to choose from in vegas
An hour and a half passed after ordering steaks for four people all medium to medium rare. We ordered wine at the same time and it did not come for nearly half and hour. (We did not even order starters, soups or salads. We were there for the steaks.) Then the manager came and told us they burned the original steaks and we waited another half hour/40 minutes for our steaks. The steaks were fine. Then on a $500 dinner with wine, they comped us with two desserts. Ruined our evening totally.
Had really high hopes for this place as I went to the Delmonico’s in New Orleans and had the best meal ever. This location fell way below expectations. My bone in ribeye steak was overcooked and flavorless and the baked potatoes were way over cooked or boiled to the point where the inside of the potato was almost watery. If they did boil it before baking it tsk tsk since it is called baked for reason. There are many steak houses in Las Vegas so I might suggest one of those instead...
I'm not sure there is enough space here to rave about this restaurant!! I've wanted to go to an Emeril Lagasse restaurant for 20 years. Delmonico Steakhouse was beyond our expectations. The lobster bisque was outstanding, containing enough actual lobster meat that a sandwich could have been made from it. The marrow bones on toast were fabulous. I had the NY Strip and my husband ordered the double bone pork chop. Both were juicy, flavorful. The potato gratin was the best I've ever had anywhere and yet.... the coup de gras! We ordered the signature banana cream pie. It is a thing of beauty and legend! Stacked to the ceiling, it was creamy, decadent without being overly sweet. Layer after layer of bananas, house-made chocolate shavings, caramel sauce drizzle. I want to go back just writing about it. Truly an incredible experience. Sad I waited 20 years!! I won't make that mistake again. This place goes on our "regular" list in Vegas now.
I have dined at Delmonico's many times and always enjoyed quiet and classy service. However, I have never seen such useless and unnecessary bustling amongst staff members as the most recent time on 11-23. It felt like dining in the middle of an angry beehive. I have no idea why staff members zoomed through the entire length of the dining area to retrieve a single small plate and then zoom back. Head waiter was condescending and did not have a team. The food was great as usual, but the dining experience was unbelievably bad.
Thanksgiving dinner, with three of seven diners opting for steak dinners instead. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was impeccable. Our four year old grandson was very disappointed they did not have chocolate milk, and without asking, our waiter found a way to make the four year old's day by finding a way to make its for him.
