Delmonico Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Literally the best steak I have ever had. I would return to Vegas just to eat here! Highly recommended.
When at home try to eat at a new high end steak place every 4-6 weeks. When I travel (for work and fun) I like to try a steak place I have never been to. I also have gotten to where I enjoy cooking steak and make very good occasionally excellent steak at home.
I have never had as good tasting and as perfectly cooked steak as here. I order the steak au proive (filet). Perfect firm pepper crust and soft buttery perfectly cooked med-rare top to bottom interior. The sauce added and did not over power. We also had the duck fat roasted potatoes. And perfectly cooked, just slight firm (not mushy) and the duck fact and simple seasonings were made for an ideal compliment.
Service was perfect for us. As on a date we were talking a lot and the servers were attentive but not intrusive.
Only nitpicking I can think of is we had an early reservation as to catch a show after dinner. When we arrived it was slow and relatively quiet. But as our dinner went on they got more crowded and busier and the noise level increased at lot. This however is not unique to here. It seems to be the trend for the high end steak places to have large rooms of tables that can get noisy as it gets busy.
Cost was in line with other high end steak places. I saw nothing excessive. At first glance the potatoes seemed a bit high. But I’d say easily a serving for three, if not four! The value was there! We each also had a glass of very good wine that was again, in line with other hotel bars, nice restaurants. Obviously you don’t go here on a tight budget (but at the same time, the steaks are large and if you shared.....) but it was not excessive at at! And the quality and service made the cost well worth it!
Highly, highly recommended! Thank you Emeril for an amazing food and excellent service.
Delmonico was quite accommodating. I had originally made a reservation for 6 business guests and found I was going need 10 to 12. I requested that my reservation be adjusted just 24 hours prior to event. Further just hours before our arrival I made phone contact and they were able to take us a half hour earlier. We arrived to marvelous group of wait staff and servers who most courteous and welcoming.
Thank you for a most enjoyable experience.
We went for a 55th birthday and were not disappointed! The staff was incredible, attentive and very accommodating to all of our questions and needs.
The food........wow! Words don’t fit here, it was off the charts and we enjoyed it down to the last molecule, hahaha!!
They could do a bit with the ombiance as it’s a bit “cave like” but saying that.....the food and service is the draw, so the other stufff can be overlooked easily.
We will be back, of that there is no doubt!!!!
Thank you all, it was an amazing night and wonderful experience!
My wife and I dined with my parents for their anniversary. We each ordered steaks. We also had the creamed corn, fingerling potatoes, and smashed country potatoes. The creamed corn was by far the best. The fingerling potatoes were a bit undercooked but we didn’t make a fuss over it. Steaks were great but not something to rave about. I️ had the filet, my wife had the petite filet and my parents both got NY strips. All were cooked to our liking and the flavor was pretty good.
Clint in the bar was outstanding. He helped me try many of the rare scotches and was very attentive. The dining room was a different story. We felt ignored and second class citizens. Emeril should be on premise more often to watch operations. Now I know why all the top Vegas steakhouses were booked except Delmonico.
The night was good. I made a big mistake trying the 100% Japanese waygu. My wife ordered the delmonico ribeye.
I'll keep this short since I've had some really great steaks here. The waygu doesn't taste like waygu. If you do go there and have had any real waygu before I highly recommend you don't try this one. Having had 3 different prefectures of waygu at Alexanders steakhouse in San Francisco I can tell you this is not like any of the cuts I've had before.
It was not melt in the mouth, it was not extremely tender. It was not worth it. Get the delmonico ribeye as it is exquiste. I gladly ate a large part of my wife's steak.
She had a bite of mine and confirmed it was not good.
Emeril Lagasse's Del Monaco Steakhouse is one of the finer dining restaurants on the Las Vegas strip - it is located sort-of inbetween the Venetian and the Palazzo. Their steaks are "to die for" and properly prepared with a number of different options for the dining patron. The service is impeccable and the wine list may be the most extensive one I have ever seen in any restaurant. We will definitely go back and I would have no hesitation in recommending this fine dining establishment to anyone who asks.
Being from New Orleans, I love to go to New Orleans founded restaurants in different cities to compare the service and the food. John was our host and he was the best! It was my mother’s 76th bday and I wanted her to have a great dining experience with our family! The food was perfect and the service was great!! My brother who doesn’t normally eat much ordered the rabbit and loved it! Most of the others iny party had the salmon...they all cleaned their plates. We had a late reservation so our appetites weren’t as big. Unfortunately, this caused us to not have the ability to eat/sample as much as we normally do as a group. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for several occasions including business meetings, date nights and celebrations. I would have liked to see at least 1 old New Orleanian goody such as an etouffe, seasoned fried seafood platter, or an eggplant dish as an entree option. There was gumbo as a soup choice that my family loved. We also had 2 other waiters who were great (with the exception of one off comment/question about hot sauce...hint not all southerners/AAs are the same so just let everyone ask for additional condiments vs. making assumptions). Kudos to Delmonico Steakhouse of Vegas. As we say in New Orleans lets go to Delmonico’s!! Les Bon Ton Rouler’!!
Had dinner here with a friend who wanted a good steak while we were in Vegas. I last ate here about 6 years ago, and the good news is these are still the best steaks on the strip. I'm tough on rating steakhouses because when you go to a steak joint, it needs to be perfect. Most people can cook a good steak at home, so not only do they have to serve something great, but needs to be near perfect. On this night, it really couldn't get much better. I went with a bone-in ribeye, and my friend went with a filet. Both were cooked exactly as ordered, presented well, and the sides were just delicious.
We both love wine, and Del Monico's wine list is incredibly impressive. They don't skimp at all on wine service and presentation (tableside decanting with a candle is a nice touch). We picked a great one we knew to start (a 2013 O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain Cab), but our fabulous server (shout out to Tom) recommended our second bottle - a 2006 Ame Neyers Vineyard Napa Cab which was drinking every bit as good as he promised.
I should mention the downside of the night - when we got seated, half the restaurant was empty, but we got put at a small table in a barren white ante-room right near the restaurant entrance. The walls were completely bare and table next to two carts used as a service well, loaded with dirty dishes and full of servers and staff prepping dishes for service. I'm not a high maintenance guest, so I didn't ask to move, but the ambiance from this table was far below the quality of the food and the staff. If you're coming here to celebrate a special occasion, rather than just two buddies having dinner while in Vegas at the same time, definitely request seating in the main dining area - it is FAR nicer than where we were placed. Our server did overhear us joking about how bad it was, and did a great job (with some humor) at some guest recovery, but I'd be lying if I didn't say our table knocked this from a 5 star night to maybe a 4.
