Della Santina's Trattoria in Sonoma, San Francisco is a traditional Italian restaruant serving recipes mostly from Lucca, Italy. It was founded by Quirico (Dan) and Shirley Della Sanitina who still own the restaurant today and mange it with their son Robert and his wife Nicole. Quirico is the chef behind the menu and has provided what's been described as Italian comfort food in a gorgeously authentic Italian setting. When you walk in the front entrance you'll be greeted by truly Italian decorations and design, as well as fresh flowers on every table.
Della Santina's offers a variety of home made pastas, antipasti, soups and salads, juicy rotisserie cooked meats and fresh seafood. Local wines from Sonoma, as well as Italian wines and beers are all featured on the wine list. Della Santina's received the 2016 Sonoma Tribune People's Choice Award for the best Italian food in Sonoma.
The Manager is rude. We've been eating a Della Santina's for years. Its convenient, the food is good and the outdoor dining garden is relaxed. We will not go back after last night. We made reservations the day before for 3 for outdoor dining, showed up on time to hear the Manager rudely tell us, indoors or not at all. He did not apologize for their error, in fact said it was our fault, no way could we could have had a reservation for outdoors, and made zero attempt to accommodate us. If you go, only book online so you have a record of your reservation,
We love this restaurant. The food and service is outstanding . It feels like we are in Italy.
Della Santina's Trattoria is conveniently located just off the main square of downtown Sonoma. We sat outdoors on their back patio, and shared a bottle of wine with dinner. The food and service were very good, and we really enjoyed our meal.
Sitting in the shady outdoor garden among vines, flowers, and a splashing fountain while enjoying an authentic Italian meal is what you'll enjoy at this family-owned and operated restaurant. While open for lunch and dinner, we have always sought out this charming Italian oasis when we come for lunch in Sonoma.
We arrived early on our reservation and they accommodated us and got us seated in no time.
Food was good. Gelato may not be that authentic Italian gelato though.
Great food and outdoor dining and service attentive. My sife had the sea bass and enjoyed it.
We rarely return to the same restaurant since there are so many great ones in the North Bay. However, Della Santina is one of our few exceptions. The food is always good, the service great, and the atmosphere delightful. Every time we've visited, the owner was there to greet us. The last time, though booked, they were able to accommodate us when we showed up with more guests than we'd planned.
Everyone ordered a different dish and everyone was happy. We brought our own wine, but they have an impressive list of wines from which to choose, especially since they have their own Enoteca Wine Bar adjacent to the restaurant.
We dined under the arbor in the back; it was charming and warm enough.
We discovered this restaurant by accident. This is probably the best Italian food I have ever had. Homemade pasta, homemade sausage, homemade balsamic. Unbelievable.
Just off the Sonoma town square, this Italian favorite was a great find. The pasta dishes were fresh and expertly prepared, and the menu (including the specials) includes some interesting creations that you don't find everywhere else. The patio was a fun outdoor place to dine as a couple, and although the service was a little slow, the pace of things on the patio was relaxing and comfortable. The place is nice and casual, and the food is not fancy or over-presented. Highly recommend.
Food was very good and so were the prices. Nice menu, something for everyone.Staff very good and very friendly. A favorite in Sonoma.
