Delizia 92 Ratings and Reviews
We love this restaurant. The service is kind. The food is yummy. The menu is great. The prices are fair. The location of the dining room has had very little to look out at, had to put up with one construction project after the other in the area, but still provides a classy, cozy feel.
This is a neighborhood favorite and they've earned the title. The service is friendly and excellent, the food is beautifully prepared and is delicious. We loved everything! The salads are fresh and crisp, the specials are not just attractive and wonderful tasting, they're usually well-priced too. You should go!
If you are looking for a family-friendly reasonably priced place on the UES, Delizia hits the spot. This place is a throwback in the nicest sense of the word. I loved seeing all the large tables of three or four generations dining together on large plates of (slightly overcooked) pasta and chicken parm. And it was a relief to see $7 appetizers and $16 entrees that weren't tiny enough to pick up with a tweezer. The service is very much of the "who gets the shrimp" variety, but it's prompt and obliging. I had a nice time and my wallet did too.
A local treasure. Yeah, they all say that. The back room of a pizza joint has tolerable service but excellent food and value. Seafood (the only thing really so ratable by the amateur) is unfailingly fresh and never yet overcooked. Can get crowded mid evening. We'll be going more often, though...
Really fills a role in this neighborhood - good Italian food at a reasonable price. Don't be put off by the fact that it is connected to the pizzeria on Second Ave. (Although the people at the next table had what looked like very nice individual pizzas.) Service was very attentive and the wine list has some real bargains. Very convenient for before an event at the 92nd St Y.
This place has been in the neighborhood for many years and has always provided great food in the little restaurant in back. It was good to see them survive the second avenue subway construction. Favorites are veal marsala and their always present chicken special.
Excellent restaurant in upper east side Manhattan. Wonderful classic Italian dishes, some interesting new dishes, and a very handsome firefighter dining beside me sent dessert over to our table! So, this is now an even more romantic restaurant! Not my first, not my last visit!
Found that Delizia was a block from the hospital, went twice for dinner as the food was so good! Simple outside door may fool you, but inside, quiet atmosphere, white tablecloths, good service, and excellent Italian dishes. The bread! Fresh, right from the oven, and the daily specials were delicious. Highly recommended.
A friendly and comforting environment with tasty food way up on Second Avenue. Portions are a good size all the meat, fish and seafood eaters at our table were happy with their choices. Perhaps a less than ideal spot for the vegetarians in your group - not for lack of choices, but meat-free pasta dishes our group ordered were too filled with gloppy cheese and not much else. But this is a minor quibble. Service was pleasant and generally efficient; prices were fair. For the non-demanding diner, this place is a find.
The little back room was so welcoming and cozy, the specials on the board sounded yummy; the waiter was attentive but not overbearing. The food however, was horrendous. Fish was a plate of mush. Seafood pasta had very little rubbery seafood and pasta swimming in oil. Unfortunate.
