The place looks cool. The service was excellent, but the food was awful. The Mac Lobsta was barely luke warm with a bland, barely there sauce. The truffle burger had zero truffle taste although it was a decent burger. The mushroom tagliatelle had no mushrooms like you see in the Instagram pics and a flovorless, glue like, clumpy sauce. Same with the Cacio et pepe. Clumped together pasta with a bland goopy sauce. We were so excited to try this place and then so disappointed by the food. The only good thing we ate was the burrata which was is very hard to mess up.
Menu changed and not for the better - less choice
Prices increased too
Bad food! Good service, good ambiance.
Our waiter GRAM was exceptional. He was very attentive to our needs and was very energetic. Our dining experience was perfect.
Food prices reasonable considering NYC. But $6 for a glass of iced tea? And just plain Lipton like iced tea....really?
Excellent place to go close to Soho and Little Italy, amazing food!
Dined there on Labor Day weekend. Made a reservation but ultimately decided to sit at the bar. Bartender #1 barely spoke as we sat down and did not make eye contact (mind you, the bar is empty). I then greeted her and she warmed a bit. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (meatballs which she recommended), and they were both good. We then decided to split the he truffle burger. The burger took about 20 min to arrive. During this time no one asked if we wanted it needed anything. The burger arrives and it was VERY bland. I was expecting more from a $32 burger. Fast forward to the end of our meal, Bartender #2 enters. I see him pouring something from one of the taps that doesn't look like beer so I ask what they have on tap. He looks at me as if I have 3 heads and says beer. I say I ask because what you just poured doesn't look like beer. He then replies oh its cider. Not sure if they were unhappy about working on a holiday weekend but I am sure they can do better. Long story short, slow service and mediocre food.
Good place for a light business lunch. Not to noisy and ability to sit outside if weather is right
The parmigiano fries were really saturated with oil. I had them like way better before. Our server forgot our bottle of sparkling water.
Overall still good vibes. My pasta with clams was really good and my brother enjoyed his duck breast.
Fun place for lunch / drinks / quick bite. Level of quality and service has gone down consistently over the last year. We have been twice this summer and same issues continue to happen...
Always a great time at Delicatessen! One of our favorites in the city - especially for the truffle fries (of course)
Fantastic Burgers! This should be in the running for top NYC burgers.
Food and waiter was incredible
The temp in the restaurant had to be over 90 degrees. We were seated at a table in the corner in the back. The air conditioning was not “ working well” and it took the manager 1.5 hours to decide it was necessary to open the garage door windows that line the perimeter of the restaurant open. Server was very gracious but could not do a thing. There are slot of wonderful restaurants in the city who may be more in tune with the needs of their staff and customers; would never return
Had a great time here. Friendly waitstaff, interesting menu and our tuna tartare and beet tartare dishes were good. Why are glasses of Sancerre in the city all $16-17 tho? Ridiculous. Host guy was a little “meh” and unavailable when we were ready to sit but he came back and checked on us which was nice. Overall a very positive experience and I would go back. But please don’t ream people on the Sancerre.
Paul was the best! He made our dining experience so fun! Love his personality. The food was delicious too.
I normally eat here often but lately it’s been hit or miss
I enjoyed my lunch at Delicatessen. It was a warm day and the restaurant was open to the air (some tables were literally outside. We could people watch (which is entertaining in the neighborhood). The food on the menu ranges from relatively healthy salads, to indulgent sandwiches and burgers, to traditional entrees (e.g. salmon). I had a reuben sandwich made of super tender corned beef brisket, with a light hand on the sauerkraut and Russian dressing. My companion had a burger served with pesto, burrata, and riddled prosciutto. The vibe was relaxed and no one rushed us as we sat and chatted on a weekday.
My only complaint with Delicatessen was the temperature in the dining room. Apparently when it is warm outside the restaurant opens the roll up doors that make up one wall. On Saturday I would have preferred the doors closed and the AC on Artic Blast. I definitely would eat there again just not in the Summer.
Lugar muy agradable en la mejor zona de SoHo en NYC, excelente calidad de alimentos, servicio y ambiente, ideal para brunch
This is a lovely place to have an early breakfast. The owner and staff always make us feel welcome, and the food is delicious! Fun to watch Soho out the big, open windows.
I was greeted promptly and brought to my table as soon as I arrived by a sweet and friendly hostess. My server came over right after, offered me a beverage and helped me make appetizer and entree decisions. He told me that his favorite appetizer was the burrata and based on his recommendation, I decided to order it myself. He was so spot on, this dish was incredible. All the components; the creamy luscious cheese, the pistachio butter, the blistered tomatoes, the balsamic reduction and the perfect polenta really created an extraordinary appetizer where every bite was amazing. It was beautifully plated and all the colors made the dish visually stunning. I could have ordered another instead of a different main.
I loved the menu variety. Comfort food like fried chicken or more state of art options as you’d expect from a Soho restaurant. Superb customer service from Brandon, our waiter. Passion fruit cosmo yummy, especially the second one!
Everything was really good for lunch one day and breakfast the next. Only problem was it was so hot in there that everyone was so uncomfortable.
The Burger is amazing. They used to have Mac & Cheese that was excellent but have since taken it off the menu.
Hostess was very rude, then took 45min to get our food
Awesome as always! I can't wait to visit again. It is always good food and a good time.
It's a nice corner restaurant with open views and with a terrace for nicer days. The meals are good and in decent size portions. As most places in the area, hard to get a meal + a glass of wine for less than $50 per person (with tax and service), but for the most part, it's worth it.
the food was good. it would have been better if noodles were cooked longer. There was a long wait between appetizer and entree. We had to remind waitress, and then after a 15 minute further wait the food was brought out undercooked. I suspect our dishes were given to others, and our order had to be replaced. Also, since we were sharing entrees, we should have been given meal sized plates to eat on, rather than bread plates. The restaurant wasn't particularly crowded, so I think the service was the issue. Too bad. This used to be my favorite 'go to' when shopping in Soho.
The menu changed. Favorites like Caesar salad no longer. Prices now too high. Won’t be returning for this reason.
Always love girls lunch here
Excellent for lunch
Food was good/very good
Being able to sit outside was great
Lots of people watching
We waited over half hour for two burgers and a piece of salmon. Restaurant wasn’t busy.
The restaurant is open and airy. The food was good. The waitstaff was awesome. Try the coconut mojito it’s delicious.
The brioche fresh toast entree and the fried cheeseburger dumpling appetizer were fabulous!
Nice place for breakfast and the Brunch menu looked good as well.Good food and service.
New York deli at its best! A must for people who love deli food.
I love coming here to eat because of the neighborhood buzz in the air. Food is great and the drinks are smooth. My go to eateries in the SoHo area.
Always delicious :-)
One of the best food and drink experiences we’ve had. The menu was all it was cracked up to be. The service was just okay. There was about a 15-20 minute time period while we were waiting on our food where our drinks were empty.
All in all, definitely a great experience. I will make this place a regular spot when I visit NYC
