Delicatessen Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic! We were looking for a place that served breakfast/brunch on a weekday and were thrilled to find the Delicatessan! Jason the host was wonderfully friendly, Thomas our waiter was terrific, and the food was delicious and exactly what we were looking for! Will definitely go back soon!
Went here after following their amazing instagram. Myself and there’s 3 others I went with were severely disappointed by the food. Overpriced for mediocre appetizers and entrees. Cheeseburger spring rolls were bland. Lobster pot pie just tastes like smoked bacon. Tuna tartare was bland. Farfalle was decent but the portion size was small for being $20+. My bourbon cocktail wasn’t worth more than $10, but paid for it.
Not going here again.
Our waitress was terrific. But disappointed that there was no oatmeal on the weekend.
The coffee doesn't compare to all the good coffee one can get now.
It was too noisy but I know that's how restaurants attract crowds.
Food was ok - nothing unusual.
No I won't come back
One of my favorite places for a low-key dinner-- be sure to make a reservation in advanced. I think that something must have happened to our food because it took easily over an hour, but the staff kept apologizing, even brought over a free app which unfortunately for me was not vegetarian. They even sent over extra drinks since I couldn't have the apps. Thought they went above and beyond to fix their mistake, which was OK with us since my friend and I were catching up anyway. He got the signature burger and said it was unreal.
My boyfriend and I recently went here for a date night. The ambiance is the best part about this restaurant, especially when the weather is nice and the restaurant is very open. The food was pretty good - but the highlight of the meal were the truffle fries.
Food was just okay for prices that steep. Outdoor tables are very small and VERY close together. I was at my table for 10 minutes or so before our server came by. She didn't mention there was a soup of the day and asked if we were ready to order before asking if we wanted a drink.
It's an okay place, but there are far better restaurants in the area.
Came here for lunch with my daughter. The service was excellent, as we initially sat outside, but it was brisk and my daughter wanted to move inside. The staff was more than welcoming in moving us inside. The food was great (you must order the cheeseburger Spring Rolls) and it arrived promptly. I would definitely recommend this place!!
The food was good, although they ignored my request for no chili flakes on my dish and the service was fair. Our waiter was fine, but the hostess wouldn't seat us until all parties were present even though there were TONS of tables open. She also wasn't super friendly. The food was good but not worth the price to me. I probably won't be returning.
Delicatessen is a well designed, happy environment for a casual meal. It gets busy with 20 and 30 something clientele later as the evening progresses. Very reasonably priced and food enjoyable- started with Tuna Tatare- a definite order- yummy, the Salmon was perfectly cooked and tasty and the truffle fries, one of their signatures well prepared.
The ambiance was simple, but well thought out and it is truly an inside/outside restaurant with the entire interior surrounded by sets of folding doors open to the outside. The only problems were that the air conditioning was totally inadequate and on a humid summer evening, it became unbearably hot. The other issue was the steep set of stairs leading to a lower level lounge and bathrooms- too steep and if you have a few drinks or older- don't try it.
Other than those two items, a good place to go
Delicatessen is an old reliable for me where you can have great casual meal with very good food, outdoor eating, excellent service all at a good value. Breakfast and brunch is always good and reliable. The burgers are fantastic and some of the best in the city, especially served with their amazing parmesan truffle fries, and the fresh seared aurora salmon appetizer is simply one of the best dishes I've had recently (note: I love salmon). Their award winning Chicken Thigh is also excellent and the mac bar and other offerings really make for a great meal!
Food was average at best and the hostess was incredibly rude; additionally, we did not get an outside table although we had reserved one. Although our server was very sweet, and attentive, and the ambiance quite cool (I love that it's open air) I do not see myself returning.
Bustling Soho restaurant. Service was excellent. Portions skimpy - Nicoise salad - four slices of tuna, one-half egg, a small corner of greens, a few fingerling potatoes. Good flavor but $28. For what was a side salad portion. My friend enjoyed her lobster roll. Great location to watch the ebb and flow of people in Soho. It was a hot day, and the doors were open to the street. Did I mention the service was excellent?
