I went this past Friday for my birthday. I'd been to Delia's a couple of times in the past and have always been satisfied with the food and the service. This time was no different. We had a pretty large group (8 people) and everyone enjoyed themselves and the food. Our waiter was very accommodating and attentive. I never felt like he was away from the table too long, which was great.
I had the gyritos to start. They were like taquitos, but with gyro meat. They were served over a bed of lettuce (which was not necessary, but whatevs) with tzatziki sauce to dip. It was pretty good, and I would order them again. A couple of people ordered the calamari, and they said it was cooked perfectly (not chewy, and just crispy enough). I love lamb chops, and Delia's take on the dish did not disappoint. It came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Since it was my birthday, our waiter brought out a slice of tiramisu (I didn't order it) with a birthday candle in it, which was a nice touch. I'm not usually a fan of tiramisu, but Delia's version was very light. It was the perfect ending to dinner.
The only thing I think some of my friends would have enjoyed more is if the mixed drinks were a little stronger. A couple of them ended up asking for extra shots to either add to existing drinks or to make their own mixed drinks.
Great place for lamb chops!!
Easter brunch from the standard menu was excellent. Octopus and calamari apps + lamb chops, pizza, halibut and salmon were all prepared perfectly. The service was great also.
One of our local favorites.
Great girl’s night out!
Food was good, but our server wasn’t the most attentive.
I thought the food was mediocre and overpriced and I was very unhappy that they turned us in to Open Table as no shows when we turned up and checked in right on time
A perfect spot for a yummy lunch on a chilly day! The food is always good especially the pasta and pizza. Friendly place right across from the movie theater so its an easy place to dine with friends or family. I love their Greek specialties!
The wait staff was very slow, ran out of food, and overall a bland experience.
Not so hot. They used to have a salad with their entree. Not any more. Their oven baked ziti with meat sauce wasn't oven-baked at all, the mozzarella on top wasn't even melted. And it was hard to find the meat in the sauce. My friend's salmon was kind of tasteless. And the pastry on the apple tart was undercooked and doughy. We won't be going back. Very disappointing.
Delia's is a must before going to the movies. Consistently great food and excellent service
Food was fine for every day dining. Service was good. Don’t order the burger ( my husband did and I don’t know why — it’s a Mediterranean restaurant!). Pizza was good and the gyro huge! Good value!
First, we made the mistake of coming on the opening night of Black Panther. So it was quite crowded and the waitstaff wasn’t robust enough to handle the volume. Our server did really well considering she was juggling multiple parties at different stages of dining.
But, we’d made reservations and though we weren’t expecting the best table, we were escorted to the table closest to both the front door and the kitchen when there were other tables available. I’ll chalk that up to expedience on the part of maitre d’. He was receptive to our desire to move and set us up in a less central table. The lighting in the dining room was quite bright and not at all comfortable.
The food, however, was a disappointment. We’d eaten here a couple years ago and remembered being pleasantly surprised. This time though, the Naan was cold, undercooked, and rubbery, the mushroom ravioli was institutional and metallic.
All in all ... this was a disappointing visit and we’d be hard-pressed to return.
This Delia's location is very convenient for a pre or post-movie stop. We had appetizers and a drink before seeing a movie and it was just right. Our server was very good and friendly as well.
Food was great but noise level is a bit high so it hard to carry a conversation.
Overall, the food and service was good, but the prices seemed a bit high compared to other restaurants offering similar dishes.
We shared the grilled octopus and all decided to have the swordfish. Both were very tasty and well presented.
I've been to Delia's a few times. This time I had the ziti, very good! I don't think I love it as much as their chicken soup, but is was very good. Pasta not overcooked.
I'm a repeat customer and know what to expect regarding the noise level. When the first post-movie crowd arrives, typically at about 7pm, the DB level doubles at least! Nevertheless, the food is definitely worth slightly sore eardrums.
I ordered a white wine sangria and they brought me what I'm pretty sure was a flat Sprite since it didn't seem to contain any wine. The food was good, but the orange butter was bothersome. Service was mediocre. Likely not going back.
Our server was fantastic- very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. The hostess was the only negative of the evening.
It was my husband birthdays and we had a nice time.
Nice place, good access to NSF for business meetings. Can be a little loud during lunch when busy, but overall a very nice place to have lunch. Food is good.
We have always had great service and food at Delia's. Great place to eat before a movie at Hoffman.
Staff is friendly, service is excellent, food is tasty. We love it here
Birthday . Nice place. Decent food
Very pleased overall. The wreckfish catch of day was amazing. Overall experience exceeded my expectations.
I made a reservation and the table was in a narrow aisle with busy traffic despite other open and available tables in other areas of the restaurant. The service was friendly but really slow. Not worth the reservation. It was awkward layout and feel disrespected by being placed in the location.
Delicious food, comfortable ambiance and friendly staff- this is a wonderful local restaurant . I haven’t had a bad meal yet! Try the octopus - it’s cooked to perfection. In fact, everything from the drinks to the entrees are fabulous! I hate writing this because our hidden gem in Alexandria will soon be too busy to get a table.
Managers checked on us several times to make sure everything was good...appreciated that attention.
Delicious cocktails, crisp and tender calamari, tasty gyros and yummy risotto!
Braised lamb shank was very good. So were the octopus and yogurt appetizers. Very convenient to Eisenhower Ave. Metro.
Amazingly delicious pizza. Half price wine on Wednesdays. Really slow service.
We enjoyed the goat cheese poppers and the chocolate truffle. My mom was disappointed with the baked ziti, the sauce was dull and she felt the meat was too ground up. I had the gnocchi with eggplant (good but could use a bit of spice). The service was good but could use a bit more polish.
It was such a great experience
The food here is outstanding and the portions are plentiful. My husband and I both took half of ours home. The potatoes are to die for and the pita bread is the best I have ever tasted. Can't wait to go back.
Was close to our hotel. Food, service and ambiance were ok, but not great. Was very convenient, but I wouldn't drive much of a distance to eat there.
Wonderful meal, as usual! I'm addicted to the pizza knuckles, and love everything i've had so far!
Absolutely delicious lamb chops and shrimp skewers. My Sunday bruch was blessed by prompt services and smiles.
I've been going to Delia's for about 6 years now and I still haven't tried anything I don't like! It never disappoints! Delicious food and great service everytime.
Generous portion sizes and really excellent food. We both had a sandwich with fries, had the chicken soup previously. The soup may have been the best chicken soup I've had in my life!
