Delia's Mediterranean Grill & Brick Oven Pizza Ratings and Reviews
Delicious food, comfortable ambiance and friendly staff- this is a wonderful local restaurant . I haven’t had a bad meal yet! Try the octopus - it’s cooked to perfection. In fact, everything from the drinks to the entrees are fabulous! I hate writing this because our hidden gem in Alexandria will soon be too busy to get a table.
Only complaint that menu says you can get a side order of (MEAT SAUCE) if the pay the amount of $5.99. It does not ridiculously say you can only order it if your getting a past dish with it. They wouldn't even allow me to purchase their side order of mead sauce because I was ordering only garlic bread and meat sauce. Good customer service can EASILY accommodate for an incredibly DO-ABLE request like that.
We enjoyed the goat cheese poppers and the chocolate truffle. My mom was disappointed with the baked ziti, the sauce was dull and she felt the meat was too ground up. I had the gnocchi with eggplant (good but could use a bit of spice). The service was good but could use a bit more polish.
Decided to eat here with my daughter for dinner. Parking was difficult. We drove around for 20 Minutes hoping to get a close parking spot that was free, but we ended up having to park in the garage for a fee. The food wasn't bad, but it was horribly loud as we were seated next to a large party of people who were competing to talk louder than everyone else. That was quite annoying.
Unfortunately our experience was not that great or first table even though we had reservations was by the outside door and every two minutes the servers were going in and out and the breeze was horrible we asked to be moved and we got stuck in the back of the restaurant that was so loud we couldn't hear each other across the table. Our food took close to 45 50 minutes to get to the table and the food was dry he had a child with this who was very hungry and they finally did bring her Pizza however it was overdone not the experience I was looking for especially at that price point dinner for three with no drinks was over $80 and that included the kids pizza
The food was good but it wasn't nearly as high quality as it was a few years ago, which was the last time I'd been there. The hummus appetizer was quite good. The chicken francese was too lemony, and the chicken souvlaki had pieces that weren't cooked all the way. Overall, the food was disappointing.
Delia's was a great find and perfect for date night. I made the reservation but the place was fairly empty at 6pm on a Friday evening except another couple, and a family with a small child. It was the perfect restaurant for my vegetarian date as there were plenty of options and substitutes to fit both of our needs. The location directly across from the theater is ideal as we were able to enjoy an hour of happy hour and great food at a decent price instead of indulging in overpriced snacks for the movie. I would recommend Delia's to others and I look forward to visiting again.
Delia's never fails as a "where should we go to dinner spot". Especially since it is so close to a metro station. Simple yet elegant food that is tasty. One of the folks in the little group we took this time doesn't care for very highly spiced foods and was concerned he might not like garlic mashed potatoes...no worries however, Julio, our 'deliverer of deliciousness' for the evening, brought a condiment cup with a spoon size sample and the potatoes were a hit with our dining companion and dinner was enjoyed by all. I couldn't finish mine, so it was packed up nicely in a to go box that just smells heavenly and I'm going to have that for lunch tomorrow. We'll be back!
Our server was super nice. He took the time to explain a few items on the menu. Two of us ordered the chicken kabobs. They weren't as tasty as I thought they'd be. The other 3 people in our group enjoyed their meals (an eggplant, pasta and seafood dish). The pita bread and trio of dips were quite good. It was a friend get-together. We had a nice time, but it started to get loud by the time we left at 7:30ish. Would like to go back to try their pizzas.
My first time here, and I'm hooked! From the service to the presentation of the dishes, all of them were fresh and very, very tasteful and delicious! I ordered the Pizza knuckles for an appetizer, they were clearly the best pizza knots I have ever had and filling! Overall great place to come and get a bite to eat, the dishes are hearty, so be hungry!
Delia's is my go-to when in the Alexandria/Eisenhower Road area. I usually meet friends for lunch, but the last occasion was dinner and the restaurant shines at night, too. Very attentive staff, delicious options. You cannot go wrong with the gyro... any time of the day!
