Friendly and Kind Service | Outstanding Food: taste and quantity | Must-return
Our family had to find an emergency place for dinner with a temporary power-outage in our neighborhood around dinner time. I had to find a good restaurant that could meet all my family's needs. I arrived a bit early, and was seated at a great table by friendly staff. I ordered my sons' pizza and milk, and shortly after they arrived their food was ready. And soon after my husband and I ordered, our meals were ready as well. This kept all of us happy. The waitress was VERY attentive to my little ones, ensuring their milks were topped off and was very responsive to any questions we had. I absolutely loved the Gyritos, and winter salad. My husband loved his lamb-burger as well. My sons' pizza was VERY good. The sauce was especially good (I had a taste).
We will return again and again. With or without children. I recommend you do too!
Reserved an outdoor igloo and it was a fantastic experience! Igloo was warm and dog friendly, while the food was excellent and the service was great. Highly recommend.
First time at this restaurant. Food was fantastic. Mediteranian so included both Italian and Greek food. Food was something special and we will be back. Despite it being a Tuesday evening, they were fairly busy. The waiter did an excellent job of keeping up with guests. The ambiance is fine, but the food is GREAT!!
The “igloo experience” was a joke. When we arrived for our reservation for the “igloo experience” we were told by the host that his manager told him not to seat anyone in the igloo if it was below 30 degrees. The host reluctantly said that “he would bundle-up” and seat us in the igloo. He brought a small table top fire. This may have keep someone reasonably warm if the igloo did not have a large hole in the plastic. When we pointed the hole out, the host told us that there was wind damage and that there is nothing that he could do. Not a memorable experience.
Absolutely enjoyed a family date night with hubby and children. Food and service were both very good. We sat outside in one of the heated bubbles. No complaints.
What a great date! The were super helpful as the pretty young lass had sone food allergies! I got to devour my pizza so n front of her. Great service and good food y’all!
Loved it! Pizza was great. Wonderful service!
Overpriced for quality of food and service. Wouldn’t return.
Hi LindseyP, I am very sorry to hear that we were not able to meet expectations. We are very short staffed and dealing with omnicron on top of that. But, I don't like excuses. We are starting to get our footing with staff. I assure you, that food and service is better than that. I would love to somehow make it up. If willing to try again. Please feel free to reach out to me.
The poor staff was overworked, but pleasant. The food was good, but not great. We had the “igloo experience “ and were grateful to have a safe place to eat on Christmas night.
It was wonderful to be able to find a good restaurant open on Christmas Day both this year and last year. Everything that the three of us ordered was delicious and well-made to order. We had two appetizers (an order of their delicious halloumi appetizer and their Mediterranean spread platter with pita bread slices and three different spreads/dips, all delicious) and three entrees (a beef burger, a lamb burger, and a salad topped with gyro). This year, they were short-staffed: the head waiter doubled as bartender (or vice-verse), and their cooks greeted customers who came in the door. Everyone was professional and helpful, but the wait between the appetizers and the entrees was long-ish. We sat outside in one of their outdoor seating bubbles/pods, and it was wonderful to be able to isolate and enjoy the outdoor nighttime ambience.
The Lamb Shank was cold closer to the bone. Maybe it was precooked, then refrigerated then heated upon order. Disappointing. My daughter’s Salmon was cooked perfectly and very tasty.
Took my GF for the first time! Julio took really good care of us
The food was delicious and the waiter was great. He made suggestions for dinner and delivered our drinks quickly. He was very attentive and we enjoyed our meal. My only complaint was that the restaurant was rather noisy, but that seems to be the trend these days.
Not only great food but an added bonus of half price bottle of wine on Wednesday.
Food was delicious!! Dessert wasn’t too great but they took it off our check.
Pizza were full of topping crust was perfect thickness
I have eaten at Delia’s several times. Filling portions of tasty food every time. A bit more expensive this time than I had remembered, but still reasonable.
The food and service were excllent. The limoncello martini was by far the best lemon martini I've ever had. Literally tasted like a liquid lemon drop. The salmon was excellent. Really are only complaint was their dessert menu - they no longer have their dessert drinks because of COVID - they should just remove that page from their menu. Otherwise, really nice date night and we will be back.
Haven’t been to this place in years!! Was glad it was still open and made it through the pandemic. Food was just as I remembered and tasted amazing!! They were very short staffed which increased the wait time greatly! Even with the wait the experience was great. Highly recommend.
First time here. Loved everything! Definitely, putting on the favs list
Incredible food!!! Well worth the wait. They were busy on a Friday night. We had reservations. Service was slow, but very courteous.
We are outside and except for the string lights not working we had a fabulous dinner for 7. Great food and great service!
We made reservations with the hopes of being able to try their food during restaurant week. However, when we got there we were told first, by the waiter that they are not participating. I told him that their restaurant was on the 2021 Alexandria, Va Restaurant Week list. He said he is not aware of that. We checked the website again to make sure we were at the right location, and we were, so we asked to speak with the manager. She said they did not agree to being on the list because they were “short staff”. She said she spoke with the owner because she had other customers to come in expecting the same event, and the manager is supposed to be looking into it. Well, Restaurant Week ends on Sunday so that did not do anything for us. Good thing Ted’s Montana Grill was about 5 doors up and we enjoyed a wonderful Restaurant Week meal there, since we were all dressed up and no place to go.
Good food, good service. Comfortable atmosphere and not very noisy.
I ordered the lamb gyro and it was dry and overcooked. First time here and it wasn’t crowded. Don’t think I’ll return.
My family and I have been coming to Delia's since they opened in 2009. Have seen new management come and go but the food is still good. When we have the kids, we always get the wings, calamari and pizza, however for datenight we both get the lambchops bc we don't want to share with each other bc they're so good! 😊
My wife and I are big fans of Mediterranean food and this place is becoming one of our go to’s. You can taste the grilled flavor throughout all of their dishes. Our favs, the wings, harrissa hummus, beef short ribs w/ gnocchi, brick oven pizza, & the lamb burger. It will not be our last time eating here.
The Delia's nearest us (S. Glebe Rd.) closed before the pandemic and we've been on a pizza hunger strike since then. Decided to try the Alexandria once. . .well worth the longer drive. Split the large walnut, spinach, and gorgonzola salad--tasty and fresh--still had a serving to take home. Hubby order small (6 slices) Chorizo pizza and I, the Classico. As delicious as we remember them. Crust is slightly thinner than other places, but the outer edge has "bubbles" and slight charring. No one else makes them like this. But what sets them apart is the tomato sauce--spicy, herbs, blends well with toppings. We each brought home half. Andrew, our server, is a veteran of the closed location. Chipper, efficient.
Two downsides: With lots of space insider, we were seated at the brick wall in front of the kitchen area. Too much clatter and noise. We asked to be reseated. The AC was cranked up so high even my never-cold husband started to shiver.
Will we go back? Yes (with a light sweater).
Will order the same pizzas? You bet!
Be prepared for parking chaos in the little lot out front. Just pay the $4 and go into the parking garage around the corner. After all, for the cost of dinner last night, we also have dinner (at home) for tonight.
Julio was a delightful gentlemen as our server. And the octopus was very very good. The pizza knuckles were also delicious and the San benedetto still water was yummy. Also very fresh lemons and they are generous with the cheese, side accommodations, and complimentary grilled pita bread. Will definitely return for light snacking. Would recommend highly.
Ate outside, so noise level is not under their control
Good food and amazing service!!!
Thank you so much for the awesome rating! See you soon..
Hi Marc! Thank you for dining with us. Hope to see you soon!
A bit expensive
Great food. Wonderful service
Octopus appetizer was very good. Wait staff was friendly and inviting. The pizza was very delicious.
Great meal and service. Louder than usual tonight due to some bar activities.
Such a great neighborhood jewel. Food options are enormous as are portions. Waitstaff always so friendly and helpful!
I love Delia's! Ever since I discovered it 8 years ago it has been a staple in my family. It is always delicious, service is great and never disappoints.
