Delhi Dhaba was established in July of 1991 by a local Arlingtonian family that emigrated from New Delhi to the United States in the 70’s. Their vision was to bring the colors, flavors, and riches of a traditional Indian Dhaba to the locals in the metropolitan area. Traditionally, a Dhaba is a roadside restaurant or cafe found on highways and on the outskirts of cities, towns, and villages. Dhabas were initially started by enterprising Punjabi’s to cater to the needs of truckers, for wholesome, clean, and hot authentic Punjabi food at any hour of the day or night.

Over the years Delhi Dhaba has become one the most well known and respected Indian restaurants in Arlington. The family continues to push the envelope of new ideas everyday while staying true to their culture and values.

The place was charming with a warm atmosphere. Food and service was great. Great place to go where you can hear the conversation at your table. Staff was extremely friendly and efficient. We traveled about an hour to get there and it was well worth it.

If you haven’t been to Delhi Dahba is awhile, you should go back. They have totally upped their game. Fun new “street food” items on the menu, beautiful food presentation, lovely outdoor patio, and of course, the food has always been delicious. So darn good - and got to eat the leftovers the next day.

Delhi Dhaba is the best Indian Restuarant in Northern Virginia. My friends from India endorse and recommend Delhi Dhaba for its authentic Indian cuisine. My family has been eating at Delhi Dhaba for over 15 years. Great food, good prices, good service. I highly recommend Delhi Dhaba.

The food is in steam trays in the front. You order what you want, sit down and they bring it to you. Then you sit at a table like in a standard sit down restaurant and they refill your water glasses. We really enjoyed the food and we would come back.

On entering we informed that reservation had been made under Open Table but this was ignored. Told by the waiter it didn’t matter and that they didn’t subscribe to Open Table. This had to be untrue so we had to insist that this be noted in their system. We tried the weekend buffet and the price was reasonable for the amount of vegetable and meat dishes. But the only meat cooked in different forms of curry and tandoori was chicken. So go à la carte if you want to try their lamb or beef dishes.

The service was very good -- pleasant and prompt to take our order as well as deliver food. Four of us shared four appetizers and four entrees. Two of us had dessert. All of the food was good. It was not very crowded when we had dinner there, but the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The decor was nice and exotic (as one would expect) but not overdone. My idea of very good. Somehow, I had never been here before, so it was a very pleasant surprise.

Went for a birthday, they didn’t note that from the Opentable app. Really noisy place, food was okay. Waiter asked us to pass the food to everyone while he stood and handed out food from one end. Cook didn’t care to remove seeds from jalapeño pakoras so they were inedible and extremely hot and thats coming from an Indian person. Didn’t create a good impression, food was okay, songs’ first line was stuck on a loop for 15 minutes until I asked them to change, waiter was not feeling it. The family that came that day was probably the owners because they kept going in and out of the kitchen like it was their private pantry. So they probably don’t care about other paying customers because their noise level was incredibly loud which really destroyed our mood to come to a restaurant otherwise well rated. It was like oh you’re 9/10 loud, so I’ll be 11/10 loud, I win.” This was the part I thought was incredibly inconsiderate and ruined the evening overall. Not going back if I’m in DC again. Not like the owners care anyways.

Look at the picture attached. The hours specified clearly state that Friday's and Saturday's the timings are 3:30 PM to 10:30 PM. I had initially made a reservation on Open Table for this restaurant at 7:30 however knew there was no way I was going to make it on time. I ended up canceling the reservation, and made another reservation through open table again for the same day, an hour and 15 minutes later. I also called up the restaurant to inform them I had changed the timing, in case it didn't get updated in time and clearly told the man over the phone we'd be coming in at 8:45 pm. We arrive at the restaurant, on time, and the first thing we hear upon entering is "We're closing soon". We had come for a quick date night dinner, and I told the server that we had called and informed of us arriving at 8:45 and that their website clearly mentions that they're open until 10:30. I also mentioned, we're not the couple to sit and take hours to order (seeing we generally read the menu well in advance) and order almost immediately. The waiter proceeds to tell us that they close the restaurant at 9:30. (UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE THEN). My only concern was this could have easily been avoided, had they mentioned this over the phone on our drive to Arlington. We'd have saved the time and quite honestly, I'd have been happier ordering pizza rather than deal with such a rude server. The food we ordered was alright, nothing extravagant. We felt rushed, the server didn't even get us a glass of water, even after us repeatedly asking for it. Overall, I'd never go there again. Hopefully, you don't either.

The ambiance needs improvement but the food is well worth it. It was a cold night and the front door which was missing the top hinge kept staying in the open position. I had to point this out several times to the wait staff. Also could have been a little cleaner. We came at 7:30 and the floor seemed to have some mess from earlier diners.

Delhi Dhaba is a neighborhood gem located in the Courthouse are of Arlington. It is a mix of sit-down dining with a lunch quick order counter. The food was very authentic and tasty. What seemed odd is that there was really no drink fountain or ice tea brewing station, and you had to pick out a bottled drink.

The tandoori offerings, especially tikka chicken, are delicious and tender. Samosas are filing. The garlic naan is exceptional. I'm not a lamb fan, but my husband ordered it. It was a bit on the dry side.

Delhi Dhaba: A local Arlingtonian family owned restaurant with must-eat spicy, rich, and flavorful Indian food. Their tandoori, chicken, lamb, goat, and vegetarian specialties show the variety and taste of Indian cuisine. Must-try food: Kari Pakora, Lamb Korma, and Paneer Naan with Tamarind Chutney. The manager and the servers were hospitable from the second we walked in.

Best Indian food I've had. Superb service - I left my doggie bag at the table and our server noticed. He ran 2 blocks down the street to catch us to ensure I had my left overs! Please eat here.

We were looking for a casual place to have dinner close to the courthouse metro stop in Arlington, VA. Delhi Dhaba was perfect. Very good Indian food and nice friendly wait staff. It was a very enjoyable evening.

The food was delicious. My bushland has lamb chops that he deemed among the best he's ever had (lamb can be hit or miss) and I had mutter panier, a vegetarian dish that doesn't appear on most menus. The only thing better than the food was the service! Our server was attentive and helpful, from answering questions on the menu to clearing away players for courses. This is a hidden gem for Indian dining and we will be back!
