About Permanently Closed - Delaney Barbecue
This restaurant is permanently closed. Delaney Barbecue is a James Beard Award nominated BBQ spot in Williamsburg serving the best Central Texas style BBQ this side of the Mississippi. Unlike some BBQ joints, we focus on sit down, table service dining in our small 35 seat restaurant. Brisket put us on the map, but our sausage, pork ribs and mac & cheese are showstoppers.

Delaney Barbecue - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Delaney Barbecue is my tried and true Brooklyn spot for some good Texan Barbecue. Amazing meat every time as well as good southern beer (Shiner), amazing side dishes, and pies for dessert. I've showed a bunch of friends this place and everyone always leaves happy and full. Couldn't recommend more!
The brisket is their show piece,I've never had better, but the ribs weren't ready by the time we got there, and their version of pulled pork was pretty bad. Side dishes are excellent, and the service was great. They bought us a round of beers, because the ribs weren't ready.
The food was a unique spin on traditional Texas bbq. Positives are big bold flavors (hopefully you like pepper and spice) and a free 1/2 pound of meat on your birthday. Negatives, as odd as this may sound, the food came too fast (literally within a couple minutes). That immediately tells me some of the items ordered were not prepared fresh which is a big drawback in my book. The lack of more variety on the menu, portion size and seasoning were other areas that give me a little pause. I love brisket, but the bark on this brisket was over the top peppery. Also, I'm sorry but 2 - 3 ribs or 2 - 3 slices of brisket is not a meal. Where is the slab? Overall I had mixed feelings.
We'd been told all about Delaney by a friend back in Australia, so when we came to NYC we were sure to make the trip to Will to find it. The whole experience was awesome - best brisket we've ever tasted, cool fit out & vibe, and very friendly service. They were especially helpful with our young kids, doing a simple pasta for them and also not being phased when they turned the place upside down. We loved it.
Hands down the best pulled pork I've ever had. The brisket and turkey were also amazing. Even basics like deviled eggs were packed full of flavor.
Our server was top notch as well and went out of her way to make us feel at home in Williamsburg. Wonderful experience!
I am french .Few years ago I discovered what is a bbq restaurant in the middle of nowhere in Georgia.A great "food experience".! Delaney restaurant is even better, all kind of meat is perfect ,mouthwatering ,juicy and so tasty OMG...service friendly.it is not a fancy restaurant but a delicious one in its own way.
Service was great. As a picky eater I know by now what foods I may need to avoid. We were served an abnormally spicy batch of mac and cheese. They were quick to comp that portion of our meal and took it off the menu for the night. Typically there is a hint of jalapeno, but due to changes that can occur with agricultural season they were spicier than normal. other than that, everything was awesome! the brisket is a MUST!!!
If you want a great BBQ with no wrong choices this is the place to eat. The pulled pork was not covered in sauce but prepared with a flavorful rub. The spare ribs were so rich they fell off the bone. Dessert was only one choice so we didn't sample it.
I loved the family style service and the potions were so generous we took our left overs home for lunch.
Limited menu but great service and a nice selection of beer and wine.
We made reservations for Sunday at 10:30 for 6 people. We arrived and were told the place doesn't even open until 12.
The food and service here has always been great-- I just wanted someone to know about this issue. Happy to take this review down once this is corrected.
