Great drinks here! Not too full inside but still had to wait for service on occasion. Bread was cold and you have to ask for the bread here which is different from Del Friscos in the galleria. We saw our food sitting on the counter for a couple of minutes before it was brought out. This is normally fine if the restaurant is busy. Steak was overcooked and had to wait for a new one to be cooked while my wife finished her meal. The steak was ok once it came out but we will likely just go to galleria location next time we are looking for a good steak and great service.
We come here almost once a week and continue to see a major decline in the service, food quality and number of guests in the restaurant. The new menu is very hard to read due to the dim lighting in the restaurant. The hostess was very rude (that is usually not the case). The crab cake gets smaller and smaller or has less crab in it every time. I saw the new billboard on 69, but there restaurant needs to improve in many ways other than just a new menu.
We came here for Thanksgiving. The food wasn’t anything special and the service was slow even though it wasn’t busy. My server seemed like he didn’t want to be there and made us feel uncomfortable. After checking reviews online I can see service is an issue at the River Oaks location.
The service was sub par. Been here several times mostly dining in bar and service is usually great. Table service was not good. We were seated and then took a long time for waiter to come and take drinks. Then once we were eating two servers came over to ask if we were finished and my kids plates were still full. They came back to apologize saying that their manager told them we were finished and to clear our plates.
The food was ok but nothing special.
I’ll go back but only for bar service.
I get it now. Grille after a familiar restaurant name means a more casual and hopefully more reasonably priced version of the more traditional core restaurant. This relatively small cafe is a credible example of the concept. Hidden in a interior part of a joint use residential/commercial facility it was a pleasant experience on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
Our fourth visit since May and we continue to return. In part, we enjoy the food very much, but it has been the quality of the wait staff that we both appreciate. The menu is diverse enough that it appealed to our friends as this was their first visit to a Del Frisco's location. The on-going challenge is the current state of restaurant design that contains too much hard surface so even with only a few other tables, the voices and noise level can make it less appealing to hold a conversation. Three of the four visits in the past few months have had the same problem and a prior visit, we asked to be re-seated in another area of the dining room.
The atmosphere is modern and inviting, much more so than the Galleria location. The lunch portion of the steak was excellent and small enough for lunch. They were very good about substituting sides and the Caesar salad was authentic - not the mayonnaise version. Service was poor even thought they were not busy - may have just been this one person. Valet parking is complimentary, at least at lunch. Overall a good experience.
Very disappointed in our brunch experience, the service was off, my red velvet waffles was excellent, but the diners who got the chicken fried steak brunch entree waa awful, it was supposed to come with jalapeno chorizo gravy, but had none of the ingredients, the waiter disappeared and the host had to find him. Not impressed.
As usual our lunch gathering was fun and we enjoyed the food, wine and more. The staff is always attentive and pleasant. This is my go to place to celebrate friend's birthdays. It was unfortunate that our reservation was not recorded to Open Table and I received a sort of admonishing email asking why I did not make the appointed reservation. I actually advised the receptionist that I had a reservation. It was not even crowded but that was the only glitch.
My only complaint, the restaurant incorrectly reported that we had not checked for our reservation through Open Table. Since we did check in, still unsure why that happened, which by the way has NEVER happened before and we have been using Open Table for years! Otherwise, we were pretty happy all around.
Usually, the service is incredible. I think our server had too many tables and they were spread throughout the restaurant. We had to ask 5 times to get a high chair. My drink from the bar which should have just been a pour took forever. Our food was slow coming to the table. What was frustrating was that there were other staff just standing around. Typically the other staff will help out a server who is overloaded.
Great spot for a date, we celebrated a birthday, and I requested a candle for the dessert for my husbands birthday, in the reservation notes, unfortunately the message wasn't passed to the server. The only other downside was the loud tossing of plates into a bucket under the prep area, this would force us to jump every time because we weren't ever expecting it. Other than that the food was good and the drinks were great!
