About Del Campo
The lifestyle and food culture celebrated on an estancia, a large South American vineyard estate, is the inspiration for Victor Albisu’s flagship restaurant in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The airy, 174-seat agrarian space is home to a meat-driven, wine-centric menu that is a product of Albisu’s Latin American roots and travels throughout Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay.

Del Campo's extensive selection of steaks and various slow-roasted meats served with vibrant herb sauces, such as chimichurris and fresh salsas, is the backbone of the menu. Chef Victor Albisu’s Peruvian heritage shows itself in the form of a Latin raw bar of ceviches, tiraditos and crudos.
Del Campo Ratings and Reviews
Del Campo never ceases to amaze us!!! From the time that we were seated we were treated with the upmost respect. Not once did our water glasses become empty. The food was amazing! I ordered the prawns which were super huge!!!! This is my favorite restaurant in DC!!!!
We had not been to Del Campo for years and I will not be going back. The food was not especially good.... although not bad. Our 2 halibut entrees were not hot. The staff reacted well by saying they would remake the 2 orders. But they took quite a long time to be brought back to the table. We were actually finished with the rest of the meal. And unfortunately we were seated next to 2 couples who very loud and oblivious to the fact! I guess this is not really the restaurants problem but it made it very difficult to talk at our table and therefore effected our enjoyment.
The first time I went to Del Campo I was totally surprised how wonderful it was. We were lucky to be seated since reservations are a must. Service and food were exceptional. We returned and liked it even more. Highly recomend it. We have tried the ceviche, veal sweetbread, duck, lamb grill, empandas and grilled calamari...outstanding and luckily we have a great selection left to try.
This was my third time at Del Campo and the food was as good as always. I was happy to get a window table since I requested one ahead of time. The only complaint was the lack of attention from our waiter. We snagged the floor manager who is always circulating to explain about our waiter and that we wanted to order more drinks. He was very helpful, apologized, and encouraged us to order dessert as his treat.
We booked a reservation close to kitchen-closing (9:45PM) but, the staff was continuously friendly throughout the evening. We ordered a fair amount of food and most everything was quite delicious. The flavors were very bold. Even dessert was available after closing and we were not rushed at all that evening - we left close to 11Pm. The drinks were great too! I would definitely visit again.
We loved it! We can't wait to go back. The food was fantastic. The waiter was knowledgeable but didn't come around too often. We found ourselves waiting awhile to ask for something. When he did stop by he was very responsive. It was kind of loud which doesn't bother us.
Has a good vibe, nice location and fun cocktails. The service was great and our starter was delicious. The issue we had is they cook their steak with a cherry smoke and that flavor took over everything. Overall, it was fine but probably wouldn't go back again.
Loved the decor and ambiance of the dining room. The service was good and our waiter was happy to discuss the menu with us. We decided to try 3 dishes to share and enjoyed all 3! We got the "Chinatown" Chirashi Ceviche, Lobster and Shrimp Empanadas, and the Smoked Crab. The Ceviche was my favorite, but the other 2 were no disappointment. Very enjoyable location for a night out!
We sat outside. A wonderful meal. Waiter was helpful in explaining menu items and made sure we found what we wanted and understood what we were getting. Probably could have split an entree along with appetizer and bread they bring to start.
Service was unfortunately slow, beverages took sometime, to the point we had to ask if they forgot. We were unsure exactly who was our waiter, as waiters were scattered around, when we needed to re order drinks and our main course we had to flag someone down. More attention in this area would have seen a better review! Food was great when it came.
Main dishes are very good, well prepared but totally bare. To supplement them you need to order one or two side dishes. Empanadas are very good. There is no cheese order available. Deserts are acceptable, nothing to write home about it.
Food was good although the pork mix was a little too pink for me. Evening was ruined by the people I was seated next to who clearly thought the restaurant was their personal dining room. tables are too close together to make for an enjoyable dining experience. Again, good food, good service but just not what I want to go through again.
What an amazing dinner! From the octopus appetizer, which was one of the best octopus dishes I have ever had, to the stunningly-presented lobster and prawsn, all was just perfect. The cherry old fashioned that literally came "smoking" was a special treat. Our server, Hoover, was 100% on point the entire evening and a true delight.
I really enjoyed the food. I had the Ribeye and a the chorizos, both of which were great. The table bread with the olive oil and smoked sea salt is really good. Knowledgeable and attentive service. The wine we ended up with was exceptional.
