Del Campo's extensive selection of steaks and various slow-roasted meats served with vibrant herb sauces, such as chimichurris and fresh salsas, is the backbone of the menu. Chef Victor Albisu’s Peruvian heritage shows itself in the form of a Latin raw bar of ceviches, tiraditos and crudos.View Private Dining Details
Love everything about this place!
Hostess was great. Server was bad. Food was great.
Visiting from out of town
Perhaps it was time for Chef Albisu to re-think Del Campo. This last experience would have meant my never returning there at night. The music was extremely loud at times (Jimi Hendrix's Maniac Depression?) and out of "tune" with the place. The meat (short ribs) over cooked and flavor-less. Looking forward to the new, re-thought Del Campo.
We went to Del Campo on the second to last night of their dinner service before they were set to move to an undisclosed location. There were aspects to the evening that were amazing, such as the ambience and service, and the octopus! For the most part, our food was hit or miss on flavor and quality but everything else about the experience was great. We ordered the octopus and chopped salad as starters, and prawns and beef short ribs as entrees, with smoked potatoes and roasted squash in the side. The octopus was one of the best things I’ve ever had, but the short ribs were sinewy. The South American style means they’re not supposed to be “fall off the bone” and the seasoning was delicious, but I had to delicately spit a few mouthfuls into my napkin. The prawns themselves were under seasoned, and in general that plate was underwhelming.
It was a nice experience, but overall the value just wasn’t there. There was a little too much inconsistency for the price we were asked to pay.
Great customer service!
The food was very good, but when I made the reservation I said it was for my husband's birthday. I was told they'd bring him cake at the end of the meal, but that never happened.
Lovely menu; not your every items; friendly and attentive service making sure our needs were met. Our second time here and not disappointed. Would recommend highly.
Love this place. Gonna miss it!
We both ordered the salmon and asked for it to be well done. Mine was under cooked. Inall, however, a nice job.
It was good
Yes. Go. There. Excellent meal from start to finish, with good wait staff too. The only drawback is their good but overpriced wine list - stick to the cocktails!
The end of a long and stressful day led me to Del Campo and I was impressed overall. Enjoyed a very filling meal and my only disappointment was that I was too full to eat more. My server had to leave mid-shift but I was impressed how all of the other team members picked up the slack.
Delicious meal, warm hospitality. The stand out app was the sweetbreads. And for dessert the soufflé was magic.
Incredible food and incredible over the top service to match. Kit was our server and he was great!
This was an exceptional meal. Fantastic flavors, perfectly prepared dishes, and good value for money.
Another great culinary experience! Wife and I finally got away from the kids for date night and this was the perfect spot. Food is creative and flavorful, service was impeccable and the ambiance is trendy but upscale. We will absolutely be back!!
This place is one-of-a-kind and the food is fantastic! Excellent service.
Grilled octopus and the empanadas always deliver. The swordfish was also quite delicious. Most dishes have a smoky chat flavor which I love. The only disappointment was the carrot cake which was dry and uninspiring. All and all, highly recommended.
Our dining experience was excellent. We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary. We had an excellent time and will definitely be back. The manger greeted us and gave us both a glass of champagne. So unexpected and we were so surprised. The food was excellent my wife’s steak a little on the fatty side. The atmosphere was excellent we felt so comfortable there. Thank you again
The waitstaff was very attentive and the food was good. The ambience was also warm and personal. I would dine there again.
The service and the stake but the dessert was a thump down.
Excellent customer service. The food was delicious.
I had dinner at Del Campo with two colleagues from work in February. I liked it but I didn't love it. Felt the meal was extremely pricey for what we had. They have a top of the line wine list, but it's very hard to find any wine by the glass below $12 per glass. Same with the menu. I ordered a salmon which I felt was way undercooked. I don't think they should do it this way without asking the diner how they would like their salmon cooked...The best thing we had was an appetizer of grilled squid with grilled avocado, potatoes, and vegetables which was very tasty.
Food was great. We had a small hiccup in that we heard one of the specials being "pork belly" but when it came, it was pork tenderloin. The 2 guests who received this mixed up dish were disappointed, but then the manager came by and replaced both with other entree's of their choosing. One selected Hanger Steak and the other a sirloin steak. The 2 other guests had steaks as well. All 4 steaks were grilled perfectly in terms of color and temperature. Also, the steaks were very flavorful and tender, which can be an issue with Hanger Steak if it is even slightly overdone. And to top it all off, the manager bought us a bottle of wine for the trouble of mixing up the order. He didn't have to do that since he already replaced both items quickly and with no trouble. The restaurant had a leaning to using smoke in everything from some cocktails, to the grilled steaks, to the "burnt" greens. All in all, it was a terrific evening and we will continue to bring friends and family here.
Great experience and terrific service. Would definitely go back.
My wife and I had a wonder experience; I took her there for her birthday. Service was great as everyone was attentive and made great suggestions.
My wife ordered the Wagyu Sirloin which was cooked to her liking and very tender. I had the Jumbo Prawns which were beyond “jumbo” and flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place and of course the Asado cocktail that ones with with two cubes of hanger steak.
Wonderful atmosphere, great service and awesome food! One of the best steaks I have ever had. Prices are on the high side but well worth it.
The wagyu bavette sirloin was one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten, and for a good price considering this is a fancy steakhouse! The presentation was fantastic as well. My boyfriend got the prime dry aged ribeye (also delicious), and both the steaks were brought out together on a hot grill topped with bone marrow and sides of very fresh chimichurri and salsa.
The cocktails were also fantastic! The smoked cherry old fashion was made tableside (yes, that includes igniting wood chips to create the smoke!), and the pisco sour was light and refreshing. Also yummy - the complimentary bread with olive oil and smoked sea salt!
Went for Restaurant Week, and the portions were good. We both enjoyed our opening courses - I had the burnt ends/brisket empanadas (excellent) and my wife had the salad with burrata. We were, unfortunately, both underwhelmed by our main course, the short rib. Needed some seasoning and it was too fatty to truly enjoy. The dessert, grilled carrot cake, was also very good.
Looked at the regular menu, as well, and for many it's well out of reach price-wise. I know it is for us, hence the Restaurant Week visit. I would return, however, to try something different.
I always enjoy Del Campo. The food and drinks are always great. It's perfect for dates, just going out to eat, and special occasions.
I went to Del Campo for restaurant week and was blown away! I ordered the empanadas, Peruvian chicken, and grilled carrot cake for dessert. The portion sizes were generous (and I eat a LOT). Very impressed--I will definitely be returning!
We went for our 12 year wedding anniversary and it was a perfect evening. Our server Angel was outstanding!!!!! From now on whenever we go back we will be requesting to sit in his section!!!!
Wait staff was great. They moved us to a more prefable table and were very accommodating. The food was great and very easy to do GF
Ribs were not tender, provolone was too spicy, we were sat a table that was near a business table of about 10 people that was extremely noisy. We could hardly talk at our table.
Meat is excellent, wine selection was complicated. Customer service is not their strong point good beef is.
When we arrived, we were promptly seated. Our waiter went over the menu with us and we ordered the smoked old fashioned which the presentation was special and the cocktail was also good. Our first course was beef empanadas and our main entree was the 18 oz rib eye and the prawns. Great recommendation by waiter. Highly Recommend a visit!!
I had the prime dry aged ribeye that was 10/10 by far one of the top two steaks I have ever had. Service was great, a bit noisy but there were just a lot of people eating
Walked in and was greeted by a friendly hostess. The restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately, that is where anything positive I have to say ends. While our server was nice, the service was incredibly slow. Two of the things we ordered we were informed were not available. The food that we were able to order came out (after what seemed like an hour) and was almost inedible due to the amount of spice. We are from Texas, so trust we know how to handle spicy food, but this was different. This was an unnecessary amount of char and red pepper flakes on everything. We didn't even want to look at the dessert menu after we ate as much of dinner as we could. 1 - because we didn't know how much longer we would have to wait for that to come out and 2 - we weren't sure if that too would be coated in red pepper flakes. I wish we hadn't wasted our last dinner in DC at this restaurant.
Our waiter Alex was great!! As was the sommelier!!
