Everything about the place is GREAT. You will no be disappointed.
The food is great. Pasta comes in appetizer size, a great way to start. Go for the nightly specials, outstanding. Very professional and attentive service. Good wine list.
Waiters and staff were highly attentive and helpful with selections of food and wines. Made for an excellent birthday celebration.
Excellent restaurant ! One of my all time favorites. Excellent food and service. Great experience
Great service and food, excellent wine all at very reasonable prices.
This is one of the finest upscale Italian Restaurants in the country. It is a real dining experience. Everything is superb, but my favorite is the angel hair with lobster, available in a half order as an appetizer and the Nodino or veal chop which is a tender veal porterhouse.
We very much enjoyed De Grecian. The food was excellent. So was the service. Prompt but not hovering. The noise level was low. We could actually talk without shouting or leaning in.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant on east side. I organized several times group diners for business and it was always much appreciated. I return also with friends. Always been satisfied with good and service.
Wonderful dining experience. Old style Italian restaurant with very polished and polite staff. Menu was creative and traditional. Very comfortable and easy dinner, without the hubbub and rush in other restaurants. They want you enjoy your meal and the experience.
The room is lovely and elegant. The menu has many attractive dishes, and everything we ordered was excellent. The service wasn't always attentive, but when there it was polished. Prices for food weer appropriate to the setting, but the wine list, although extensive and varied, was overpriced. Overall, a good choice if you want a lovely evening and don't mind expensive wine.
Exceptional overall experience! Authentic, masterfully prepared and presented food paired with fabulous service and a transforming ambience. Not to be missed!
Great old style place, had a quiet table for business dinner, and that was what I needed. Places conducive to civil conversation are so rare now.
Outstanding an delicious. The only thing missing was Michael Corleone sitting in the corner.
Family-owned and operated neighborhood gem with excellent food, wine and service. Perfect for business meetings, too.
DeGrezia is a true old school and delicious New York restaurant. The tables are comfortable and not jammed together as in so many restaurants. The food is fabulous and the wait staff completely professional.
This has been (for the past 19 years) and will continue to be a destination for us in NY for special occasions.
De Grezia combines everything desirable about a restaurant: superlative cuisine, magnificent ambience owing to the stately oak-paneled walls throughout, perfect service which is at once attentive, respectful and friendly, very low level noise, even when busy, excellent wine list. The menu is reasonably priced for its class and for its prime location. White tablecloths with well dressed waiters. The Italian cuisine is absolutely wonderful. A visit to the restaurant makes for a totally enjoyable experience.
DeGrezia continues to be an relatively undiscovered gem for a first-class Italian restaurant in mid-town NYC on the mid-East Side. The food, service, and ambiance are all terrific.
Dover Sole was moist and delectable..Eggplant Parm (very traditional) was the best I ever ate...
One of our favorite New York stops. Great for quiet gatherings and business meetings and the food and service is amazing!
For the hearing-impaired, it's hard to find a place in NY quiet enough to hear and speak comfortably. Plus, food and service at Degrezia are always reliably great. The seafood risotto was the best I ever had. Lots of calamari--my favorite.
Great traditional Italian restaurant. Cosy and a welcome haven on a cold New York night.
Worst Italiann food ever
Very good ambiente and service .
Always the best Italian food they we have ever had , we have been going over 25 years!
Everything about this restaurant is outstanding. Perfect for a business meal, gathering with friends where you can converse easily. Food is fantastic surpassed only by the classic service.
Hidden gem. No complaints here. The staff was terrific. It felt like the entire staff wanted to make sure you have a great experience. The food was very good and presented nicely. Definitely coming back here in the near future. Had a nice and enjoyable time
Lovely establishment. Exquisite food. Perfect service.
New Year’s Eve with family. Perfect choice.
A grown up dining experience.
Gets more of an older but sophisticated diner.
The food is very good and the ambience and service are old world.
Well spaced tables, low music make conversation easy.
We were taken here by friends who live in Manhattan and have been coming here for years .
Food and ambiance are good while the service has room for much improvement. Nonetheless they charge you 20 percent gratuity automatically even for only four guests.
We were seated at 7 and enjoyed a leisurely dinner. The staff were generally attentive though had to be prompted to replenish our water glasses after they had sat empty for some time. The food was good - a burrata particularly so - though saltier than I prefer.
Things turned more disappointing when the check was dropped at 9.30 although we had not asked for it and at 9.40 a waiter came and asked me to pay. Although they supposedly are open until 10, clearly they wanted us out sooner.
My date, who suffers from vertigo and is self-conscious about it, stumbled slightly as we got up from the table and a busboy made a remark about taking care not to drink too much during the holidays, which upset her.
Could and should have been a great evening but wasn't.
This restaurant is a marvelous old staple. Been around since the ‘80s and it has a formula that has worked for over 3 decades without significant change.
The food is simply marvelous and the attention to detail keen.
My only criticism on my most recent visit (Thursday night) could be the attention of our assigned waiter.
He was sort of “out to lunch” (probably not uncommon during the holiday season) and had to flag him down, literally, to take the order, clear the plates and bring the bill.
This is surprising as the restaurant really wasn’t that busy. He seemed more interested in chatting with his mate than he was in serving...???
Visited this restaurant on a work trip a few tears ago and took the family this time. Fantastic if you like authentic Italian. No kids menu though.
Underground establishment in Manhattan. Old, not updated. First notice was a bad odor like it was lacking cleanliness. As you enter the dining room tou clearly see it is dirty and not a clean establishment. Food is not of high quality but the prices reflect that expectation. I would not recommend to anyone nor would I ever return.
Annual holiday dinner....always a pleasure at Degrezia.
One of my wife and I favorite places to visit while we are in Manhattan--food is delicious, service is excellent. and the Ambiance is superior.
We really enjoyed ourselves here. The ambiance was grand, the service was impeccable, the food was outstanding! Everything was fabulous! We did find it a wee bit pricey, but not so much that we wouldn't come again!
