Great food and great service. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. I would highly recommend the restaurant.
An Authentic Italian Restaurant ... delicious food, great service!
Very good food and ambiance. Everything was very well done except we were with our kids and wish they had a few items priced for kids. $20 for a bowl of buttered pasta seemed excessive, other than that all was good.
The food was delicious and authentic. The ambiance is a little fancier than the "casual elegant" led us to believe so we were a bit underdressed but it was very nice. Overall my only complaint was that it was difficult to get our waiter's attention through the night and when we'd flag down the maitre de or bus buys they'd all just refer us our waiter.
What a civilized place with delicious food, from apps to dessert. I wholly endorse! Delicious.
This is an outstanding restaurant. The service was excellent a our food was out of this world. Sebastian was helpful as we navigated the extensive menu and wine list.
Everything was very tasty.
Timing of the service was good.
Always exceptional! We love the food and the wonderful staff, like family!
A real surprise. First time and really loved it. Best bolognese sauce ever.
Some of the BEST Italian any of us have had (and that's saying a lot) .... food was absolutely outstanding, real old school joint where if you've got a vowel at the end of your name you'll be at home. Carbonara Killer, Gnocchi gorgonzola amazing, Veal scaloppini out of this world.... This restaurant is now in the rotation... big time...
Superb ambiance, excellent service by seasoned professionals. Diverse menu with interesting presentations and top end ingredients.
Lovely food, great service and a sense of seclusion. Mine was just a dinner with an ex-colleague, but it would be a great place for a date or a special occasion.
Our favorite restaurant in NYC. Quiet. Romantic. Great food and service.
Amazing service, fantastic food. Great for a group. Would be nice for a special occasion.
Never fails. It never changes in the best possible way.
Food was excellent and staff was very personable and the atmosphere was charming great place
First time at restaurant. Attractive, wood paneled dining room and good service. However, the food was mediocre and didn't justify the prices.
Our retirement lunch was terrific. Our private room worked perfectly.
Good food, but very pricey for the very small portion size.
A hidden gem. Excellent food and service.
Do not go to this restaurant if you have more than four in your party! It is a lovely, intimate environment much better suited for romance; not celebration. As a party of 8 including a few kids, we were treated dismissively, at best.
fabulous pasta, tried several of the dishes, loved the veal special, great service, would come again when visiting NY again
Food, Service was great. Very comfortable and although busy - our party had no issues with noise - would definitely go back.
This was my girlfriends first trip to New York and I wanted her to experience my favorite restaurant.
OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ITALIAN IN NYC! Always a treat! Always very delicious!!!!
A fabulous place, great service, great food
Not cheap but well worth it
Very good meal and service, always have very good specials and my entire party enjoyed themselves
Our favorite Italian in NYC! Love the ambiance, food and service exceptional, always!
Excellent cuisine --- well-prepared, beautifully plated. Good attention to detail. Wonderful service.
We ate there several years ago and it was magnificent. On this trip, I would not say the same. The price of wine by the glass has increased, but so has the portion size, as I didn't finish my entree and last time we had room for dessert. We started with the lobster/angel hair pasta appetizer, and it didn't disappoint. My husband had a veal dish which he really enjoyed. I had a salmon meal with mustard sauce, and it was a little disappointing. The accompanying shrimp was wonderful, and while the mustard sauce was nice, the flavor got monotonous with so much fish. There were a few stalks of asparagus to eat as well, but I would have preferred a smaller plate or less fish and another accompanying item on the plate. The service was also slower than last time (though the restaurant was busier), but the biggest complaint may have been just how quiet it was. We were uncomfortable using our regular speaking voices, even with the little bit of background music being played.
I went here for my birthday dinner with friends. We set at the table close to restrooms/kitchen and my friend was wearing short skirt. She said chair cushion felt scratchy and towards end of dinner, she said her thigh was itchy. We didn't think much of it until we left the restaurant. She had so many bug bites!! Be aware of fleas on chairs!!
Food was ok but salty.
Very good traditional Italian food, friendly staff, good wine list.
We wanted a special night with great food and wine for a beloved visitor. This restaurant was perfect - in food, wine, service and ambience too.
A lovely restaurant with very good food and friendly staff. My only criticism was the staff should've been more attentive, e.g., filling water glasses and bread basket.
We have been going to De Grezia for many years and have always found the food to be excellent (we usually don't use the menu since we know what is available, other than the nightly specials). I especially love the pear salad and the veal dish. My wife did try something different last night and loved the lobster pasta, the best she has ever had. The staff always remembers our dietary issues (my wife prefers chamomile tea and I start off with a Pinot Grigio).
We were seated next to a noisy table in a half-empty restaurant. When I asked for a different table we were seated under a loudspeaker. The head waiter then tried to pass off a later vintage of the wine I ordered without saying anything. Throughout, the service and food was mediocre. I was badly mislead by the favorable Zagat reviews. No wonder the restaurant was half empty at 8 p.m. on a Friday evening.
It’s a lovely accommodating restaurant with excellent service and food.
Food was delicious and staff were great. Two of the people at our table had lived in Italy for 9 years and they said it reminded them of Italy, great night!
Excellent food, gracious and impeccable service. A very nice occasion.
