Deerpark Restaurant-Biltmore Estate Ratings and Reviews
One of the best restaurants on the Biltmore Estate property and perhaps even in the Asheville area. It is a buffet with an excellent selection of entrees and especially deserts. They make all their own including breads and jams. You will remember this restaurant as much as you will your visit to the Biltmore Estate. This restaurant is finally being "discovered" by local passholders. Be sure to make a reservation. The hosts will take reservations before taking walk ins. Also remember that there is a shuttle service available.
Warm on a very cold day! Attentive waiter even though the brunch is buffet. Loved the make your own Bloody Mary bar. Talented acoustic guitar player at perfect volume. Desserts were varied and creative! Thank you for a fun start to our 30th anniversary. We'll be BACK!!!
We were seated quickly and found ourselves treated to the wait staff. They were all very attentive and helpful and made the experience very worth while. I was a little disappointed in the options for meat options but the pork was very good. The roasters had allowed the food to cool a bit more than I would have liked but it was ok. Breads were good, a lot of options and the desserts were spot on. Cheesecake was especially well prepared. Broad selection of wines, we had been to the winery before so I knew what we we seeing on the menu. Overall a very good experience.
Have told all my friends how amazing the buffet was. Yummy!! Can't wait until our next visit. Perfect end to complete our Christmas Family get together and what a great start for the year to come. Shared this experience with daughter and fiancé and my wonderful husband.
I had enjoyed Christmas dinner there with 15 family members. When we arrived that night , the guard at the gate gave us a hard time about having a pass to get into the property, and we had no idea that pass was required. I took my dear friend there for lunch on New Year's Day, I called days before and asked if i needed to purchase a special pass to gain access. No one ever returned my call. So when we arrived for lunch, the guard acted as if she were doing us a favor by letting us in. My friend had a pass to Biltmore, but she told us we needed to possess at least two passes. Had the concierge returned my inquiry call, we would have had the appropriate documentation. So I showed her my email reservation confirmation, which I thought would be adequate. But she chose to lecture us instead. So I walked away with the impression that my time and money are better off spent at Grove Park Inn. Much easier, kinder and welcoming to approach.
We were at the Deerpark on New Year's Eve. The buffet was extensive, but light on vegetables and heavy on dessert and breads. I would like to have seen a few more vegetable dishes like squash casserole, sweet potato casserole, perhaps roasted winter vegetables, etc. Pumpkin pie was also missing. For the price, one glass of wine with dinner should have been offered. What was offered was delicious, however, and service was outstanding.
The food was good but we were stunned how sloppy people were dressed. We thought the Biltmore house would be a little bit more elegant but it was really just a bunch of people with ridiculously horrible clothing on like they were going to a high school football game
Deerpark Restaurant at the Biltmore was a special treat. We drove to the Biltmore for the day and had a lovely lunch at Deerpark. We took our time and had many courses and lots of good food from each course. It's a nice restaurant for a special occasion and while it's only open certain times of the year you should definitely try to get there. This was a great way to end 2017! Happy New Year!
We love the restaurants at the Biltmore and this was the first time at this one in a long time. We had great food and service served in buffet style. The choices on Sunday are quite wide - breakfast to prime rib. Well worth the visit if you are in Asheville or live here as we do.
It is a solid meal while on the Biltmore Estate. I've eaten at this buffet a few times now - so return visits count for something. Roast beef was good, but the horseradish sauce was almost all mayonnaise; the collard greens were done well; but the turkey stuffing was too spiced up for me to eat; the salad dressings were great; but I had to search for any apple or arugula in the the apple arugula salad. Bottom line - I am never amazed by the food. It is good, but not great. It doesn't surprise or make me go "wow". And, I expect an amazing experience when I am on the Biltmore Estate.
I think the Stable Cafe restaurant at the exit of the Estate is a better choice if you are eating after a visit to the estate. And a visit to the wine tasting area is a better choice if you want a fun experience.
The past several years we've attended Deerpark as a holiday dinner for me and my husband. This year the lights inside the restaurant were really bright and less dim/holiday lights feel, it took us 10 minutes to be served with water and then into our first course before our bottle of wine was delivered. Our server did not work much at making us feel comfortable. Also, the employee cutting the meat scowled at us when we were served. It was as if he was angry that we were there. Overall, we were disappointed and don't plan to continue our yearly tradition any longer. We will select another Asheville restaurant.
I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was! I had expected the usual bland buffet food, but it was prepared with care and seasoned with spices and sauces to make it very special! The staff did an excellent job placing fresh food out often. The crepe flambe table was an extra special touch!
We were turned away at the gate. My husband and I are annual passholders and have brought guests to dine at Deerpark on several occasions. We made reservations for 3. However when we arrived with my 87 year old mother on Tuesday we were told that she needed a ticket to the estate to eat at the restaurant. Gate attendants were rude and could not tell us why. Response: " turn around and talk to guest services."If this is the protocol, this should be stipulated on Open Table. Headed over to grove park inn where we were graciously accommodated and had an excellent meal.
I have eaten at Deerpark several times and have always been pleased. This meal and the sevice did not meet my expectations. On this visit.
The food was overcooked and I felt like it had been sitting out for sometime. The gravy was in far too deep of a container to get to comfortably, the dressing was cold and lumpy and the crepes were cold.
Although our server was very friendly and ahe did keep our drinks refilled...she never cleared our table of old dishes which drives me crazy. Overall, I was just very disappointed in the meal which was $115 for five people.
Also, they are doing construction and have been since my last visit in august and this severely limits the ambiance because of the lack of a view except for ugly green tarps.
I will try it again on a future visit and certainly hope for a better experience.
